UFC rising star, Muhammed Mokaev, has called out fellow flyweight, Jeff Molina for a potential 125lb matchup.

The UFC caught the attention of many around the MMA world when they signed undefeated prospect, Muhammed Mokaev. The Dagestani-born Mokaev is a former two-time IMMAF world champion and finished his amateur career boasting an impressive 23-0 record.

As a professional, Mokaev, who fights out of the UK has been just as potent- only turning pro in August of 2020, ‘The Punisher’ has already amassed a 5-0 record, one of which was under the UFC banner.

When signing for the UFC, matchmaker Mick Maynard had this to say about Mokaev, “Muhammad is a flyweight I had been keeping an eye on for quite some time,” Maynard said. “He is undefeated, dynamic and very charismatic. Mohammad sees himself as a flyweight Khabib. He is a perfect fit for this young, fun division.”

The 21-year-old Mokaev, who is the youngest fighter on the UFC roster, already has a fight booked for July 23, but is already looking for his next bout. Taking to Twitter, the six-time British wrestling champion directly called out Jeff Molina, another rising star in the flyweight division.

Jeff Molina, stay healthy I wanna fight against you in France (September) or Abu Dhabi (October) I gonna maul you! @ufc @Mickmaynard2– Muhammed Mokaev

Molina himself is no slouch, the Dana White Contender Series graduate has seen himself amas an impressive 3-0 UFC record. The 24-year-old most recently earned a hard-fought win over Zhalgas Zhumagulov this past weekend. ‘El Jefe’ also grabbed headlines for wearing the rainbow color on his shorts in support of the LGBTQ community, which led him to receive an abundance of abuse.

As for Mokaev, if he becomes half the fighter many believe he will, he will be a force to be reckoned with in the UFC for quite some time, but for now, he must concentrate on the task ahead in the form of UFC debutant Charles Johnson.

Mokaev is currently undefeated in his mixed martial arts (MMA) career. The 21-year-old holds a record of 7-0. He had a successful UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 204 this past March with a first-round submission win over Cody Durden in under a minute.

It’s interesting that Mokaev is already calling out Molina, as he’s slated to return to the Octagon against former LFA champion Charles Johnson at UFC Fight Night 208 in July.

As for Molina, he’s one of the UFC’s brightest at 125 pounds, currently on a 10-fight win streak. He hasn’t tasted defeat since a 2017 split-decision loss in his third-ever professional fight.

Now, he’s been perfect under the UFC’s banner with four-straight wins. Both Mokaev and Molina are huge prospects at flyweight. A win for either man could put them in prime position to crack into the top 15.

A UFC flyweight matchup between rising contender Muhammad Mokaev and LFA champion Charles Johnson is set for July 23.

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was the first to report the booking.

Mokaev is fresh off his UFC debut win over Cody Durden at UFC London last month. He is undefeated in his career and signed with the UFC following four wins in Brave CF.

At 21 years old, Mokaev is aiming toward potentially becoming the UFC’s youngest world champion in the future. A win over Johnson could propel Mokaev into the UFC flyweight rankings.

Before the win over Durden, Mokaev earned finishes over Jamie Kelly and Blaine O’Driscoll in Brave.

Johnson will finally get his chance on MMA’s biggest stage following an impressive run in LFA. He won the interim LFA flyweight title over Yuma Horiuchi at LFA 110 before picking up victories over Carlos Mota and Joao Camilo.

Johnson also fought against current UFC contender Brandon Royval at LFA 48, losing a unanimous decision. He has also fought in the boxing ring, earning his first win at Thailand FC 4 over Falan Phongsiri.

The winner between Mokaev and Johnson could emerge as a factor in the flyweight title picture in 2022 and beyond. UFC Flyweight Champion Deiveson Figueiredo is expected to defend his belt against Brandon Moreno for a fourth matchup later this year.

UFC flyweight newcomer, Muhammad Mokaev has demanded a public apology from former two-weight champion, Conor McGregor for flagrant comments made regarding the region of Dagestan and its people during and after his rivalry with former lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Mokaev, an alum of Brave CF – extended his undefeated record to six straight fights back in March in the opening bout of UFC London – submitting Cody Durden with a one-sided opening round guillotine choke.

Muhammad Mokaev has been touted to eventually challenge for UFC flyweight gold

The victory marked Mokaev’s landing the UFC, with the undefeated IMMAF veteran expected to return this summer in a potential June card back in the United Kingdom.

Speaking recently off the back of his successful UFC debut against Durdan, Mokaev explained how he received a pay increase in a sponsorship deal with TIDL – when McGregor partnered with the recovery brand.

“Initially, I was getting $5,000 for each fight,” Muhammad Mokaev told on the YouTube channel, Smesh Bros. “He (Conor McGregor) purchased TIDL before the (Dustin) Poirier rematch and I thought they would terminate my contract. And at the time, I was very outspoken. Especially, if someone talked about Dagestan. I thought they would terminate my deal, but Conor texted me and they raised the pay to $8,000…”

However, despite Mokaev’s retention of his sponsorship with TIDL, as well as his pay rise courtesy of McGregor – the uber-prospect maintains that when he meets the former duel-division champion, he has to apologize for comments made about Dagestan and its people.

“When I see Conor (McGregor), he will have to apologize for all he said about my people,” Muhammad Mokaev said. “The apology is primary and it matters more than the sponsorship. I talked to Audie Attar (Paradigm Sports Management founder) about it and he said that Conor regrets his statements. I think there’s nothing wrong with apologizing, I believe Conor would gain respect from it. I can’t ask him to do it via text message, he said things publicly, so the apology has to be public too. I believe he will apologize, I’m sure about it.”

Of note recently, McGregor has aimed several outbursts at rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov, as well as the surging lightweight contender, Islam Makhachev – calling the latter “inbred” as well as the people of Dagestan in a series of deleted tweets in recent months.
