Glover Teixeira vs. Nikita Krylov in a light heavyweight bout continues the main card of the UFC Vancouver event: 

Round 1: Teixeira caught a body kick and took him down to the ground where he got side control. Krylov was doing a nice job of landing some elbows off his back which sliced opened Teixeira. He eventually gets his back. He’s searching for a choke, but Krylov was defending well. Teixeira softened him up with strikes but Krylov shook him off and got full mount. Krylov got his back and locked in the rear-naked choke but Teixeira rolled out. 

Round 2: Both guys came out and were throwing bombs. Krylov is doing well at staying out of range and using his reach. Krylov lands a low kick and eats a hook but was constantly on his bike. Krylov landed a nice combo as the former title contender was moving forward as he was getting frustrated. Krylov scored a late round takedown. 

Round 3: Krylov drops for the takedown and Glover immediately jumps on the guillotine. However, Krylov got out of it. Teixeira went for an armbar after landing some strikes from half guard but Krylov got out of it. 

Results: Glover Teixeira def. Nikita Krylov via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

A light heavyweight tilt between Nikita Krylov and Ovince St. Preux will kick off the UFC 236 main card in Atlanta, Georgia.

As always, Lowkickmma will have you covered with all the results from UFC 236 as they happen.

The 26-year-old Krylov (25-6) is a decade younger than his opponent at UFC 236. Krylov is a talented Ukrainian grappler that has won four of his last five fights. He was most recently submitted by Jan B?achowicz last September.

As for St. Preux (23-12). The former college football standout is now a veteran in the MMA game. “OSP” will make his 19 walk to the Octagon on Saturday night. He most recently dropped a decision to Dominick Reyes at UFC 229.

Round One

Krylov has a tendency to start quick. The Ukrainian takes the center of the cage. He lands a leg kick and pushes forward with a punching blitz. St. Preux lands a trip and takes Krylov to the mat. Krylov posts up and gets back to his feet. He looks for a front choke on “OSP”. St. Preux fights his way out and lands another trip takedown. Again, Krylov stuffs his head and gets right back to his feet. Both men grappler but St. Preux hits a wizzer and mounts Krylov. He postures up and drops a hard elbow. Krylov bucks up and “OSP” goes over the top. Krylov is back on his feet and he lands a hard one-two. He presses St. Preux against the cage and lands a knee to the body of the American. He lands a couple of punches as the round ends.

Round Two

Krylov takes the center of the Octagon and lands a kick to the body of “OSP”. He blitzes forward and rocks the American with a hard right hand. St. Preux looks for a takedown as Krylov blasts elbows in defense. Krylov takes St. Preux down and quickly mounts him. “OSP” turns and Krylov takes his back and sinks his hooks in. He looks for the rear naked choke and gets it. “OSP” taps.

In the co-main event of today’s fight card 26-year-old Ukrainian fighter, Nikita Krylov faced off with Poland’s Jan B?achowicz in a pivotal light heavyweight fight.

Krylov comes into the contest on an impressive four-fight winning streak. This will be the first fight in Ktylov’s second stint with the UFC. B?achowicz, 35, comes into Moscow riding a nice three fight win streak of his own. He most recently defeated hard-hitting Brit Jimi Manuwa via unanimous decision earlier this year.

Round One

These guys waste no time. Krylov pushes forward in typical fashion, and B?achowicz stands his ground. Krylov lands a sneaky trip and ends up in B?achowicz closed guard. Krylov is having a hard time landing any significant strikes due to B?achowicz good defense. B?achowicz scrambles and gets top control, Krylov looks for a choke but loses his grip. B?achowicz is demonstrating some strong top control. He passes to side control and picks his shots on Krylov. B?achowicz should win round one.

Round two

Round two starts with a fist bump followed by a push kick from Krylov. B?achowicz sidesteps the kick but finds himself defending an ankle lock. B?achowicz easily defends the submission and again finds himself in on top of Krylov in side control. B?achowicz sinks in both hooks and locks in a head and arm choke. Krylov taps promptly.
