Dutch speed skating star Jutta Leerdam, girlfriend of boxer Jake Paul, has experienced a significant drop in the Media250 rankings, a prestigious list of the most influential figures in Dutch media. After ranking 38th last year, Leerdam has fallen 21 spots to 59th in the 2025 edition, despite the list expanding from 100 to 250 names.

Leerdam had been a standout last year as the highest new entrant, largely due to her dual career as an athlete and social media influencer. However, her influence seems to have waned in the eyes of the 20,000 media professionals surveyed for the ranking.

Unfazed by the rankings, Leerdam has traded the cold Dutch winter for the sun-soaked skies of Abu Dhabi. Following a busy skating weekend in China, the 25-year-old flew to the United Arab Emirates to train in milder conditions. Alongside her rigorous schedule, Leerdam is enjoying some quality time with her boyfriend, American YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

The couple, who reunited for the first time since Paul’s boxing match against Mike Tyson, is expected to attend the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this weekend. This could lead to a high-profile meeting with fellow Dutch sports icon Max Verstappen, who recently announced that he and his girlfriend, Kelly Piquet, are expecting their first child.

Jake Paul and Jutta Leerdam’s relationship began in late 2022 when Paul reached out to Leerdam via Instagram, inviting her to be a guest on his podcast. Initially, Leerdam was skeptical, thinking Paul seemed arrogant based on his online persona. However, as they continued talking, they discovered a deeper connection and quickly became close.

Rico Verhoeven’s Toughest Fights: Badr Hari, Spinning Backfists, and the Path to Kickboxing Glory

‘The King of Kickboxing’ Rico Verhoeven names Badr Hari as his toughest fight but Levi Rigters is right behind. His journey to becoming a Glory champion has been marked by grueling battles that tested his resilience. As he prepares to defend his title against Rigters at Glory Collision 7, Verhoeven reflects on the toughest fights of his illustrious career, in an interview with Giovanni Tjin.

Rico Verhoeven’s Toughest Fights

1. Badr Hari

Rico Verhoeven has faced numerous elite fighters, but he ranks his bouts with Badr Hari at the top of his toughest challenges. Hari, a kickboxing legend, has exceptional fight IQ and incredible power. The Moroccan-Dutch athlete pushed Verhoeven to his limits. Their intense rivalry, Verhoeven’s durability, and his ability to adapt under pressure.

“Badr is dangerous in so many ways,” Verhoeven noted in a recent interview. “His ability to adapt during a fight makes him unpredictable. Those fights taught me a lot about staying focused and composed no matter what.”

2. Levi Rigters

Levi Rigters, Rico Verhoeven’s opponent for Saturday’s title fight, is another name on his list of challenging opponents. Their previous encounter earlier this year in Glory’s eight-man tournament showed Rigters’ skills. Rigters’ spinning back fist sent Verhoeven to the canvas—a rare sight for the reigning champion.

“I won that fight, but I made a big mistake,” Verhoeven admitted. “That back fist landed because I let my guard down. It was a humbling moment, but one I’ve learned from.” Despite the setback, Verhoeven rebounded, securing victory via knockout and taking home the $500,000 prize.

3. Jamal Ben Saddik and Tariq Osaro

In the heavyweight division, size and power often dominate, and Verhoeven has faced no shortage of physically imposing opponents. Among them are Jamal Ben Saddik and Tariq “Cookie” Osaro, whom Verhoeven places in the same category of challenges.

“They’re both large and incredibly strong,” Verhoeven explained. “You have to be tactical when facing guys like that. It’s not just about matching their strength but outsmarting them.”

As he steps into the ring against Rigters once again, Rico Verhoeven aims to showcase the lessons learned from his storied career. The much-anticipated Glory Collision 7 title fight between Verhoeven and Rigters takes place on December 7 at the Gelredome. Fans eagerly await to see if Verhoeven’s introspection and preparation will cement his legacy or if Rigters will mark the dawn of a new era in kickboxing.

Jon Jones Love Dirty Boxing

At the inaugural Dirty Boxing Championship in Miami, Yoel Romero shocked everyone, including Jon Jones, with a devastating first-round knockout of Duane Crespo.

Jon Jones loves Dirty Boxing

The event, held behind closed doors, featured a lineup of brutal fights, including UFC and kickboxing veterans with Jon Jones sitting ringside. Yoel Romero’s KO, highlighted by a superman punch and an overhand left, was one of five knockouts on the eight-fight card.

The promotion, led by Mike Perry and a team of notable combat sports figures, introduced unique rules that made for intense, action-packed bouts. Big names like Paige Van Zant and Jarrell Miller attended, and organizers declared the event a massive success, promising more content soon.

Two-division UFC champion, and all-time great, Jon Jones absolutely loved what he saw with Dirty Boxing. Speaking to The Schmo, he said:

I had a great time tonight. The fights were awesome. The Dirty Boxing Championships were unbelievable. I really think this sport is going to catch on. To see boxing—clean boxing technique—with spinning elbows, spinning backfists, and different types of elbows… it was really, really cool. I can’t wait for the next event. I’m glad to be at the first one.

Jon Jones is a huge fan of Yoel Romero, he continued:

“Yoel is just such a magnificent, unique human being and athlete. He’s special, man, and he does what special people do. He delivered exactly what we expected him to do.”

Ura Sumo Wrestling ?? ??

Ura Kazuki is a fan favorite in the sumo wrestling community as he is well-known for his exciting style. In the Kyushu basho, November sumo wrestling tournament, he had quite a matchup against Hiradoumi.

Ura And Sumo Wrestling

Each year, Sumo wrestling hosts six tournaments throughout the calendar in which only one champion can walk away with the ultimate victory. Each Grand Sumo Tournament is called a basho, the champion is the yusho, the top league is makuuchi and the second highest league is juryo. Each Grand Sumo Tournament lasts for fifteen days and a sumo wrestler will have one match on each day.

An unusual and dramatic situation unfolded during the bout between Ura and Hiradoumi on Day 11 of the current tournament. During the match, two mono’ii were called. A mono’ii is a conference of judges called when there’s uncertainty about the outcome of a bout. Having two mono’ii in a single match is extremely rare. The match had to be restarted twice. This is unusual in sumo wrestling. But led to quite a photo of Ura, with all three hundred pounds of him, tilted entirely horizontally and flying through the air.

Essentially, sumo wrestling matches are won by pushing an opponent out of the ring or making the opponent crash to the ground. But, if sumo A pushes sumo B out of the ring while crashing the ground, the match is still won by sumo A due to intent, even if he hit the ground first. But if it is not clear who landed on the ground or went out first, or it is not clear who had the intent, then the match is restarted by the referees and judges. In the case of Ura and Hiradoumi the match had to be restarted twice as the referees could not agree on what was going on.

Ura’s career has been a rollercoaster ride of success and setbacks. He reached the top makuuchi division in March 2017, but his progress was halted by two serious injuries that led to extended layoffs. These setbacks caused his rank to plummet to the lowest levels since his debut, and it took him three and a half years to return to top-level competition. In sumo wrestling, Ura is considered small at 313 lbs and 5’9″.

Down & Dirty: Mike Perry's Bold Docu-Series for New Fight League Dirty Boxing Championship

Popular fighter ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry is launching a new combat sports promotion called Dirty Boxing. To give fans a behind-the-scenes look at how he’s building this new fight league, he’s releasing a six-part documentary series called Down & Dirty. Each episode, about 15 minutes long, will show the challenges and successes Perry and his team face as they set up the promotion.

Down & Dirty

The first episode of Down & Dirty airs on Friday, November 8 at 2 PM ET on the official Dirty Boxing YouTube channel. This series not only follows Perry, but also his co-founders, including Josh McLean (an entrepreneur), Adam Kovacs (former Karate Combat president), and the MMA agency First Round Management. Together, they’re launching Dirty Boxing, a new combat sport that mixes boxing and MMA with a custom set of rules allowing punches, elbows, and ground attacks.

Mike Perry, dubbed Chief Violence Officer at Dirty Boxing Championship, explained:

“We wanted to bring fans deeper into the world of fight promotion and show the real hustle behind making a league happen. ‘Down & Dirty’ is more than just a show about fights. It’s a story of grit, passion and the pursuit of something bigger than ourselves.”

The documentary will showcase the tough journey of starting a new promotion, with all the ups and downs. In the first episode, Perry discusses his differences with Conor McGregor and reveals his ambitions for the new promotion. Future episodes will show the team scouting venues, training, and dealing with team tensions, all leading up to the launch event on November 23, which will be held in a secret location, invite-only.

Mike Perry added:

“We’re starting from the bottom and we’re going all the way up. Our first event takes place November 23rd and even though some big names are going to be in that ring, it’s going to be completely underground – secret location, closed doors, invite only. Then next year we’ll probably start opening up our guest list to the public.”

Here’s a breakdown of the series schedule:

  • Episode 1 (Nov 8): The team discusses their mission and Perry responds to McGregor’s criticism.
  • Episode 2 (Nov 11): The team looks for venues and Perry tests the new Dirty Boxing rules in training.
  • Episode 3 (Nov 15): Perry shares his vision at home, followed by a sparring session.
  • Episode 4 (Nov 18): A hurricane hits, and tensions rise between team members as they search for a venue.
  • Episode 5 (Nov 22): The venue is secured, and preparations for the event intensify, with a former UFC fighter joining the fight card.
  • Episode 6 (Nov 29): A full behind-the-scenes look at the private launch event for Dirty Boxing Championship.
