Things got a bit physical when Paige VanZant and Britain Hart had their staredown on Thursday.

The pair are set to collide in the headliner of Bare Knuckle FC’s KnuckleMania event taking place Friday in Clearwater, Florida.

And Hart certainly isn’t a fan of the bare-knuckle newcomer as she got right in VanZant’s face during the staredown.

That led to VanZant shoving Hart’s throat before the pair started to get more physical until BKFC president David Feldman stepped in.

“This ain’t f*cking MMA, you can’t choke,” Hart said. “Get the f*cking rules right before you come into the f*cking game. How about that? Get the rules right. I will touch you first tomorrow.”

You can watch the exchange below (via MMA Fighting):

VanZant will notably be making her bare-knuckle debut on Friday.

She last competed at UFC 251 in July where she suffered a submission defeat to Amanda Ribas. It was the last fight of her UFC deal before she was released and ultimately made the move to BKFC.

Hart, meanwhile, is coming off a fourth-round knockout of Randine Elkholm at BKFC 14 in November.

“Every time I check my social media, my fans are always asking me for more,” VanZant said in a press release. “By launching PaigeFanZant.com with FanTime, it makes it easier for followers to find the exclusive content I’ll be putting out.”

The 26-year-old also took to social media to update fans about her new site.

“Just launched MY NEW WEBSITE!!!!!!  Now I NEED you,” VanZant wrote. “Click the link and let me know what you want to see. There will be VIP access, perks and rewards!!!!!! https://officialpvz.com

VanZant kept her 2.7 million Instagram followers entertained throughout the lockdown as she documented the life she shares with her husband, Bellator prospect Austin Vanderford – much of which is seemingly spent naked.

Fan’s who pay the $19.99 per month to become a member of VanZant’s site can expect more of the same.

The BKFC fighter has stayed true to her word by not posting explicit content on the site.

In November, VanZant recalled a previous Q&A which saw her inundated with people requesting she make an OnlyFans and publish explicit content.

“There were 200 questions and about 20 of them were ‘Hey, why don’t you make an OnlyFans?’.

“Basically, I said, ‘I’m not going to make an OnlyFans but if you really want to send me money and you appreciate the things I post on Instagram, you can Venmo me’.

“I was like, ‘Go ahead and send me money so you can show me appreciation’. I did have a lot of people Venmo me, which I did not expect to happen.

“Five or ten people sent me money and thought that they would be receiving an explicit picture.

“That was absolutely not what was going to happen. I’m sorry for the confusion and for anybody who sent me money, hoping to get nudes or anything like that. (Transcribed by TalkSport)

“The point is, I’m not doing an OnlyFans because I’m not going to do that kind of stuff.”

VanZant will make her Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut on Friday against Britain Hart.

Paige Vanzant has heard what you have to say about her move to bare-knuckle boxing and she’s not having any of it.

The former UFC star signed with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship in August 2020 after a 5-4 run in the world’s top MMA promotion. The signing came as a surprise to many who expected VanZant to sign with one of the other notable MMA organizations, but ’12 Gauge’ has remained insistent that bare-knuckle boxing is what intrigues her the most. In an interview with TMZ ahead of her BKFC debut against Britain Hart on February 5, VanZant again took aim at those who have been doubtful of her in her career.

“You know what? I have, for the majority of my career – and I’ve been thinking about this – why have I kept my mouth shut so much about all the haters, and about all the hate and negativity I get?” VanZant said. “My idea was, if you talk s— about somebody, you should be willing to say that to their face. And not a single person who has said anything negative about me publicly has been willing to say it to my face, and I’ve seen people in person.” (H/T MMAJunkie)

VanZant also took umbrage with anyone that has suggested she should be worried about the damage her face could receive in the often graphic sport.

“All the negativity about ‘Oh! My face!’ Grow up!” she said. “It’s a face, and it’s mine, and I can do whatever I want with it, and guess what, I’m still going to be beautiful, even if I get cut open. It’s not a big deal. … That’s so condescending to think of your beauty as being important.”

VanZant also noted that the lead-up to her fight has also brought a clause in her contract she was previously unaware of to her attention. According to her manager, she is still able to take MMA bouts while remaining under contract with BKFC. She said that while she had initially considered walking away from the sport to focus solely on boxing, moving her training to South Florida has reignited her spark.

“BKFC, they did give me the liberty in my contract to be able to take an MMA fight. I was informed of that by my manager, and I didn’t know that at first,” VanZant explained. “At first, I was like, ‘No, I just want to do the boxing.’ But I think that, coming to American Top Team, it rebirthed my excitement and I now realize how good I am.”

“I’m training with these coaches who believe in me. Having them say they believe in me, and they train some of the best fighters in the entire world, and they look at me and they believe that I’m good,” she said. “So that kinda sparked that passion all over the place. So yeah, maybe I will take an MMA fight. I’m strictly focused on the boxing right now, especially for this fight. That’s all I do. But, maybe. Let’s see. The door is open, so it’s definitely there.”

While 2020 was a year to forget for most of the world, it was a memorable one for UFC women’s strawweight Amanda Ribas.

The Brazilian went 2-0 in the calendar year after a unanimous decision win over Randa Markos at UFC Brasilia in March before a first-round submission win over Paige VanZant in their high-profile matchup at UFC 251 in July.

As a result, she is now in the top 10 of the strawweight rankings and ahead of her upcoming UFC 257 fight with Marina Rodriguez on January 23, she reflected on what was a breakout year.

“It was a crazy year,” Ribas told MMA Fighting. “It was different because the UFC [in] Brasilia was the first event without the public and then I fought on the Island—which was crazy and beautiful. It was crazy in a bad way because of the pandemic, but it was good for me.

“I’m blessed to have those fights on my record, I’m blessed to have my training, my [training] partners, my health. So it’s been an amazing year for me.”

Ribas was originally set to face Carla Esparza at UFC 256 before being slated to fight Michelle Waterson at UFC 257. Both fights didn’t end up panning out with Rodriguez instead stepping in for the injured Waterson.

And Ribas is now training with her last opponent in VanZant in preparation for Rodriguez. VanZant would depart the UFC following her defeat to Ribas and is now signed with Bare Knuckle FC (BKFC).

“It’s really different because my last camp was to fight against her, and now she’s helping me in this camp, and I’m helping her for her [BKFC] boxing,” Ribas said. “It’s cool. It’s amazing and we can show everybody that it’s professional. I’m not mad at her, she’s not mad at me. It’s professional.

“If she can help me, yes she will. If I can help her, I will help her. We are martial artists. We’re artists, not just crazy people throwing punches at each other. We are athletes. It’s amazing.”

As for VanZant signing with BKFC, it surprised many in the combat sports world. However, Ribas believes only certain kinds of fighters can compete in bare knuckle boxing and VanZant is one of them.

Not to mention that she will also be paid very lucratively.

“She’s a really smart girl,” Ribas added. “She has a really big heart and, I think for her, it will be good because no one who has a weak heart, or is a little scared, can fight like that without gloves. For her, I think it will be a big step to get money because they pay her really good. I think it will be really good.”

Do you think Ribas is a future champion?

MMA power-couple Austin Vanderford and Paige VanZant repeatedly drew the eyes of many social media users throughout 2020. The reason for this being a plethora of nude photo’s posted on Vanderford’s Instagram page. They show the couple in a myriad of creative and compromising situations.

Vanderford recently spoke to MMA Junkie Radio about the topic, in an interview that was reported on by Blue Corner.

The Bellator fighter remarked that “It just comes down to her and I, we post what we want to post and really not caring too much or giving too much care to anyone else.” He went onto state that “it was just fun for us to do and something that we wanted to do, so we went with it. It wasn’t due to any request. We just came up one day, and honestly, I think I was running around the house naked, I was out doing pull-ups or something, and the idea kind of sparked, and we did it.”

Upon being asked about any potential backlash from family or friends ‘The Gentleman’ had the following to say:

“Yeah, our family is supper supportive of us, and they know we’re fun people, and they know our personalities more than anyone else.” “So what might be a surprise to the outside world isn’t a surprise to our family because they know us, and they know our true personalities and what not.

Vanderford has not fought since November, and is yet to have a fight booked in 2021. Howver, VanZant recently signed for Bare Knuckle FC, and has since agreed to fight Britain Hart in February. VanZant has also previously spoken about the unique take on social media posting.
