It looks like Conor McGregor is starting to bring in some special training partners to prepare him for his upcoming 170-pound rematch with Nate Diaz.

Dillon Danis, a jiu-jitsu black belt under the highly regarded Marcelo Garcia, was apparently brought in by McGregor to help him work on his ground game ahead of his August rematch against Diaz, the first man to ever beat him inside the Octagon.

Danis told FloGrappling.com the following about working with McGregor for his rematch with Diaz:

“We’ve been in contact for a while and the time was just right. He’s one of my idols and you don’t pass up opportunities like this. He has one of the greatest minds and skill sets ever in the sport.”

Following his knockout loss to Michael Bisping at UFC 199 this past Saturday night, Luke Rockhold has had to hear a lot of negative talk from “The Count,” as their rivalry remains alive well after they finished their second fight (third, if you listen to Bisping, who considers their past sparring session one of their past “fights.”)

It’s the former UFC Heavyweight Champion, however, who is the latest to take a shot at the now former UFC Middleweight Champion.

Fabricio Werdum, who was on the receiving end of a vicious verbal assault from Rockhold during the build-up to his fight with Bisping at UFC 199, fired back at Rockhold following his loss on Saturday.

Werdum took to social media, where he posted the following directed at Rockhold, pointing out that he is just “answering what [Rockhold] talked about [him].”

So, what has the reigning UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor been up to since the blockbuster announcement on Saturday night that his 170-pound rematch against Nate Diaz is on for UFC 202?

Following a long stretch of virtually nothing but tweets about a potential boxing match with Floyd Mayweather and coverage of his ongoing issues with UFC management falling the fallout of UFC 200 and the negotiations to set up the rematch with Diaz, “The Notorious” one has returned to social media.

McGregor posted the following tweet on Sunday afternoon, less than 24 hours after the announcement that the fight he has reportedly been “obsessed” to get signed was officially made, showing himself with his girlfriend and a beer, with the caption reading, “The fruits. #Enjoying.”

He also posted this one in honor of the late Muhammad Ali, who passed away at age 74 over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Nate Diaz has been busy “Stockton Slapping” UFC President’s in the face since the big UFC 202 announcement on Saturday evening.

UFC 202: McGregor vs. Diaz 2 is scheduled for Saturday, August 20, 2016.

Apparently some requests are just too much for certain athletes and celebrities. Former UFC fighter Ronys Torres has one of those stories after meeting arguably the best soccer player in the world — Lionel Messi.

Torres met with Messi and upon asking the soccer star to “face-off” with him for a photograph, a pose used in many photos featuring professional fighters, the celebrity athlete refused.

“After the training, Rafinha took us to the parking lot,” Torres told MMAFighting.com. “The security guard asked me if I was a boxer because I was strong. When Messi came, another member of my gym asked Messi to pose for a face-off but he’s very shy, he didn’t want to do it.”

As Torres explained, Messi might not have agreed to that particular pose, but he did end up taking a picture with him.

“But he took a picture with me,” said Torres. “He’s a great guy.”

This will get people talking.

Arguably UFC’s two biggest current stars, and perhaps the two biggest UFC stars of all-time, reigning UFC Featherweight Champion “The Notorious” Conor McGregor and former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey recently faced-off for a photo shoot for the UFC.

The story behind the McGregor-Rousey photo, which is apparently from a legitimate photo shoot, is not yet clear, however you can check out the cool photo below.

As noted, McGregor met with UFC officials this past week after a fallout with management regarding plans for the UFC 200 event in July.

Meanwhile, Rousey is expected to make her long-awaited Octagon return at some point in the near future. She last fought for the UFC back in November of 2015, where she was knocked out in her first and only pro defeat to Holly Holm in Melbourne, Australia.
