UFC Live: Hardy vs Lytle delivered the goods.  Out of 12 total bouts, only five went to a decision.

Heading into the main event, I was sure some of the earlier scraps would earn “Fight of the Night”, but low and behold, it was the main event that officially earned the UFC’s “Fight of the Night”.

Chris Lytle vs Dan Hardy was an excellent battle, but was it the best fight of the night?

Which fights got overlooked by the glitz and glamour of the main event?

Eight months ago, the lightweight division seemed to be overflowing with top contenders ready for a shot at the title.

Now that UFC on Versus 5 over, the title picture looks a little more clearer with two exciting crossovers from the WEC now looking for a shot at the belt.

Last night, Donald Cerrone made a huge impression on the lightweight division, knocking out rising prospect Charles Oliveira three minutes into the first round.  Former WEC champion Ben Henderson also looked great, ending Jim Miller’s seven fight win streak.

As all eyes now turn to Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard’s rematch in October as the excitement only continues in the stacked lightweight division.

Here’s how the last night’s winners stack up against the top 10 lightweights in the UFC.

Jared Hamman found a new home in the middleweight division when he stopped Ultimate Fighter finalist C.B. Dollaway in the second round of their back-and-forth battle at UFC on Versus 5.

Hamman had to overcome adversity in the bout, including submission attempts and being rocked by Dollaway in the first round. He eventually wore “The Doberman” down with his relentless pressure and won by TKO in Round 2.

With a 1-0 record in the middleweight division, Hamman can begin to rebuild himself in the UFC. He had fought three times previously in the UFC’s light heavyweight division. He went 1-2 but had put on two Fight of the Night performances in those bouts.

These are four possible fights for him to take next.

Brock Lesnar has had six fights in the UFC. Five of those fights have been in the top 20 UFC PPV’s of all time.

Four of those fights have been in the top six, and he also has the top two all time.

Brock Lesnar is the undisputed, P4P King of PPV’s. Nobody can deny that.

Unfortunately for Dana White and Co., Brock has been out since last October dealing with the loss of his heavyweight title, and a recurrence of diverticulitis.

Lesnar was set to headline UFC 131 opposite Junior dos Santos, but the diverticulitis forced him to pull out.

UFC 131 ended up pulling in about 300,000 buys, but had Lesnar been headlining against dos Santos instead of Shane Carwin, it is almost guaranteed that it would have been another 1 million-plus PPV for Brock.

Unfortunately, Lesnar won’t be around forever, so lets take a look at seven fighters who could overtake Brock Lesnar as the UFC’s biggest draw.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is a rapidly expanding business and they are always looking for ways to bring in fans and, subsequently, make some more cash.

During live events, the UFC makes a point of giving celebrities in attendance a few seconds on air and fans are typically pleased to see that their favorite celebrities have the same love for mixed martial arts that they, themselves, harbor.

Running with that general concept, it seems to me that the UFC could probably build a great deal of hype around their events by bringing in some celebrities as guest octagon girls.

It would get people tuning in just to see their favorite celebs in a bikini and these new viewers could potentially become life-long fans of the sport, if they end up enjoying the event as a whole.

I recognize that it might be difficult to get celebrities interested in doing this—especially for not a lot of money—but it seems that the UFC is all about making the impossible happen these days.

Obviously, there are countless famous ladies we’d love to see strutting their stuff around the outside of the Octagon, but here’s a sampling of some celebs it would be great to see as guest Octagon gals…

Caution: If you don’t like to look at pretty ladies who aren’t wearing a whole lot of clothing, this is the end of the road for you.
