SuYoung You Lands Dominant Decision Victory Over Baergeng Jieleyisi - UFC Macau Highlights

SuYoung You won the Road to UFC bantamweight tournament on Saturday, securing a decisive decision victory over Baergeng Jieleyisi at UFC Macau.

Things got off to a fast start with Jieleyisi and You slinging leather early. 90 seconds into the opening round, You shot in for a single leg and managed to work his opponent down to the mat getting into Jieleyisi’s guard. You seamlessly transitioned into half-guard, but Jieleyisi did a good job of defending from the bottom and preventing You from landing anything substantial while on top.

With just under two minutes to go, Jieleyisi scrambled his way back up but ate a knee for his trouble and was quickly slammed back to the mat, giving You side control in the process. You eventually moved into mount and landed some solid ground-and-pound strikes as the first five minutes came to a close.

After spending much of the first round on his back, Jieleyisi was a little gun-shy in the second. You attempted two takedowns in the round, both successfully defended by Jieleyisi. Unfortunately, Jieleyisi went for an ill-advised spinning back fist that took him off balance, allowing You to finish what was essentially a free takedown.

You kept Jieleyisi on the mat for the remainder of the round, likely putting him in a 0-2 hole going into the third.

Jieleyisi’s output continued to be limited in the third, but he did manage to score his first takedown of the fight with only a few seconds left on the clock. However, it was too little, too late for the fighter from Xinjiang, China.

Shi Ming Sends Opponent Out on a Stretcher Following Horrifying Head-Kick KO - UFC Macau Highlights

Shi Ming won the Road to UFC strawweight tournament with one of the most brutal head kicks in recent memory against Feng Xiaocan at UFC Macau on Saturday.

Things got off to a relatively slow start, but things picked up late in the opening round when Shi managed to score a takedown. However, Feng was able to sweep Shi with relative ease, putting her right into the mount. To Shi’s credit, she defended well and worked her way back up before the end of the round, but Feng’s success on the mat likely won her the round.

Former Invicta FC strawweight champion, Danni McCormack managed to steal all the headlines overnight on the latest instalment of ‘Road to UFC’ — landing a bloody unanimous decision win over opponent, Yan Qihui over the course of three rounds at the Apex facility.

Enjoying a 3-0 run with Invicta FC, Roscommon-born star, McCormack landed a debut decision win over Maira Mazar back in 2022, before dispatching Valesca Machado with a unanimous decision win over the champion in the main event of Invicta FC 52 in March of last year.

And immediately drawing links to an Octagon debut, McCormack would defend her crown in a fourth round rear-naked choke win over challenger, Karolina Wojcik — lining her up for last night’s outing with Quhui.

And battering the former over the course of three rounds in a bloody decider, McCormack, a staple of Straight Blast Gym, drew praise from former two-weight champion and Irish compatriot, Conor McGregor on social media.
