Sean O’Malley believes Dominick Cruz needs to learn from him about how to approach taking fights.

After O’Malley’s UFC 264 TKO win over Kris Moutinho, he called out several fighters, including Cruz. The hope was the fight would come to fruition, but according to “Suga,” the former bantamweight champ turned him down and opted to fight Pedro Munhoz instead due to the fact that he is higher ranked.

However, for O’Malley, he says Cruz needs to learn something from him because he is now on the pay-per-view at UFC 269 while Cruz is on the prelims.

“I want to address the Dominick Cruz stuff first and I don’t want to be mean because he’s clearly slowing down,” O’Malley said on his YouTube channel (via Sportskeeda). “Not physically maybe, but mentally… he said he doesn’t want that fight because he wants to fight someone higher up, so therefore he turned the fight down. I asked that fight, we asked for that fight for a while. We asked Sean Shelby, he turned it down… I didn’t listen to the interview but it’s just a weird thing to say. He said something to where I’m like, dude, you need to learn from daddy because I’m above you on the card.”

At UFC 269, O’Malley will face Raulian Paiva, who is in the rankings. Paiva is a former flyweight who has moved up to bantamweight and coming off a win over Kyler Phillips, who is O’Malley’s teammate.

O’Malley is currently on a two-fight winning streak as prior to beating Moutinho, he knocked out Thomas Almeida. In the fight before, the fan-favorite suffered a first-round TKO loss to Marlon Vera in a fight he hurt his ankle in.

What do you make of Sean O’Malley’s advice to Dominick Cruz after the UFC 269 bout order was revealed?

Dominick Cruz vs. Sean O’Malley had previously been rumored as the next targeted fight for both men at 135 pounds, but both fighters ended up booking different opponents. O’Malley hinted at a potential fight with Cruz earlier this summer, but negotiations never materialized.

Now, Cruz completely doubts that O’Malley was being genuine when he hinted at wanting a fight with him.

Cruz is in the middle of preparation for his UFC return later this year, against Pedro Munhoz at UFC 269. Coincidentally, O’Malley will be on the same exact card to end the year against Raulian Paiva.

The bantamweight division continues to be one of the most exciting in the UFC, but Cruz doesn’t think that an O’Malley fight could be in the cards anytime soon.

UFC bantamweights Dominick Cruz and Sean O’Malley, once rumored to be targeted opponents, will both return at UFC 269

“I have had a couple of talks with [Sean] Shelby about why is this [a fight with Sean O’Malley] is being thrown out there but I think it was just O’Malley throwing it out to media to see what could be stirred up and made,” Cruz said during a recent interview with Ariel Helwani. I know it’s as simple as sitting in front of Sean Shelby man-to-man, eye-to-eye, being clear, being concise, telling him what you want and he’ll probably give it to you. It’s not that hard to get through to Sean Shelby.”

“I don’t think Shelby would have had a problem with giving him me if O’Malley would have asked him for it.”

O’Malley has been criticized during his young UFC career for not taking fights with ranked opponents, ever since he fell to the 14th-ranked contender Marlon Vera at UFC 252.

O’Malley defeated Kris Moutinho at UFC 264 earlier this year, while Cruz got back in the win column against Casey Kenney at UFC 259. The two could potentially be on a collision course if both keeping moving up the bantamweight ranks.

Do you think we’ll ever see a Dominick Cruz vs. Sean O’Malley fight?

Paddy Pimblett Deems Himself The Cash Cow In O’Malley Feud

Paddy Pimblett has responded to Sean O’Malley’s latest comments, suggesting “Sugar” is keeping his name in his mouth because he knows “The Baddy” is the new “big thing.” After signing with MMA’s biggest promotion earlier this year, Pimblett made his highly anticipated debut at UFC Vegas 36 in September. Paddy Pimblett has responded to Sean O’Malley’s latest comments, suggesting “Sugar” is keeping his name in his mouth because he knows “The Baddy” is the new “big thing.”

After signing with MMA’s biggest promotion earlier this year, Pimblett made his highly anticipated debut at UFC Vegas 36 in September. Against Luigi Vendramini in the main card opener, the charismatic Liverpudlian looked to immediately establish his name in the UFC lightweight division. Despite an early scare, Pimblett did just that.

Having seemingly been rocked on the feet early by the Brazilian, Pimblett recovered and found his rhythm. After letting his hands go, the Englishman secured the first-round knockout win he had predicted pre-fight. He made the most of his time on the mic with Michael Bisping and put the 155-pound weight class on notice.

Despite a two-division separation between the pair, it was Sean O’Malley who continues to give the loudest response to the promotional newcomer. The 26-year-old’s latest words came on episode of 158 of the TimboSugarShow. “Sugar” commented on Pimblett’s out-of-camp physique.

“He got fat as shit. Did you see that? He got fat as fuck… He got big, but he said he got another fight booked and it’s not that [Jared] Gordon guy. I wonder who it is.” (h/t Sportskeeda)

During a recent appearance on the Dave Portnoy Show With Eddie & Co, Pimblett responded to the surging bantamweight star. Flipping the script on O’Malley’s ‘clout-chasing’ accusations, “The Baddy” suggested his new foe knows he’s the new cash cow in the UFC, which is why he continues to talk about him.

“What’s wrong with being fat, lad? Who’s he tryna fat shame? Cheeky bastard. He’s well smaller than me Dave, like he fights 20 pounds below me. It’s not even like it’s close. He keeps putting my name in his mouth because he knows I’m the new big thing and I’m about to push him to wayside and he’s like, ‘Shit what’s happening here?’” (h/t Sportskeeda)

Despite being two weight classes apart, Pimblett is a former 145-pound Cage Warriors champion and O’Malley is undoubtedly large for bantamweight. Should the pair look to settle their score inside the Octagon, a meet in the middle clash at featherweight isn’t out of the question.

Would you like to see Paddy Pimblett and Sean O’Malley clash at featherweight later down the line?

UFC bantamweight contender, Sean O’Malley has taken a shot toward recent lightweight debutante, Paddy Pimblett — criticizing the fan favorite’s physique, claiming that the Liverpool native has “got fat as f*ck” since his debut victory over Luigi Vendramini back in September.

Montana native, O’Malley, is currently scheduled to feature as part of the stacked UFC 269 card at the end of this year on December 11. — attempting to extend his winning run to three straight fights as he tackles the #15 ranked contender, Raulian Paiva.

O’Malley is currently in the midst of a two-fight winning run, having stopped promotional alum, Thomas Almeida with a massive highlight-reel ground strike at UFC 260 in March — before stopping promotional newcomer, Kris Moutinho with a series of strikes on the feet in the final round of their UFC 264 clash in July — setting multiple striking records for his bantamweight weight class.

For Pimblett, on the other hand, the Huyton native recently made his long-awaited UFC debut back in September as part of the UFC Vegas 36.

The former Cage Warriors featherweight champion managed to survive an early striking scare from the aforenoted Brazilian, Vendramini — before stopping the heavy hitter at the fence later in the opening round with a well-placed barrage.

Following the victory, Pimblett dined in Las Vegas, Nevada with his team, explaining how he had consumed countless fast-food meals in ‘Sin City’ — before returning to his native Liverpool and then partaking in a holiday with his partner. Pimblett also recently shut down. the idea of him fighting O’Malley in the future.

Sean O’Malley Labels Paddy Pimblett ‘Fat As F*ck’, Questions His Physique

Speaking on his podcast recently, O’Malley, a product of Dana White‘s Contender Series — claimed Pimblett had experienced a significant weight gain since his Octagon bow last month, calling the Next Generation MMA staple “fat“”.

He (Paddy Pimblett) got fat as sh*t,” Sean O’Malley said. “Did you see that? He got fat as f*ck… He got big, but he said he got another fight booked and it’s not that (Jared) Gordon guy. I wonder who it is.” (Transcribed by Sportskeeda)

The 17-3 Pimblett hit the headlines last week when reports emerged detailing how he had put pen to paper on a “seven figure deal” to act as a content creator and brand ambassador for New York-based multi-media company, Barstool Sports — founded by Dave Portnoy.

Reacting to the deal, O’Malley wished Pimblett well, but questioned how he managed to get a deal of that magnitude done.

Damn, I wonder how he (Pimblett) got that,” Sean O’Malley questioned. “I wonder if it was his management or what… I wonder if they have a specific role they want him to play… That’s crazy though. That’s a fat deal, good for him.

Everyone has their turn-ons, and for Sean O’Malley, that is apparently watching epic heavyweight boxing fights.

Like the rest of us, O’Malley was unbelievably impressed by the all-out war put on by Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury in their trilogy fight. The two heavyweight champions were both dropped multiple times in the fight, with each man getting hurt. In the end, Fury was able to finish the fight in the 11th round with a brutal knockout after overwhelming Wilder with a barrage of punches over the course of the contest.

As later revealed by O’Malley, it seems that “Suga” was a little happier than most people at how the fight went. Speaking in a recent episode of his podcast, he said that he liked it so much that he felt the need to pleasure himself through every round, just because of how intense the action was.

One of the sickest fights, probably the sickest boxing fight I’ve seen. I was J-ing off every round,” O’Malley said (h/t MiddleEasy).

“(Wilder) is a gangster, dude. That’s gangster. To be knocked down, then knock down Fury, and then get knocked down seven more times before the fight’s over. Just get up every time, scary.”

This was certainly an odd admission from Sean O’Malley, although it is somewhat relatable given the circumstances of what transpired. After all, many people were considering Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3 was one of the best fights of the year and one of the greatest heavyweight fights of all time.

With the momentum swings and nonstop action from start to finish, this truly was one of the most exciting boxing matches to take place in a long time. That said, it is probably a bit easier for someone to enjoy watching the fight if they are doing so while keeping their pants on.

Sean O’Malley Thinks He’d ‘Sleep The Russian’ Petr Yan In One Round

Sean O’Malley has been talking about a fight between him and arguably the best bantamweight fighter in MMA, Petr Yan, who he predicts would get knocked out inside one round if they were to face off.

Yan was recently left without an opponent when Aljamain Sterling was forced out of their eagerly anticipated 135lb title rematch that was scheduled to take place at UFC 267 on October 30. Yan has since been booked to face Cory Sandhagen on the same date for an interim bantamweight title.

During the uncertain time between Sterling falling out and Sandhagen stepping in, O’Malley got a little excited about the prospect that he could get the call to replace the champ.

“I’m just saying that I’m training for it,” O’Malley said on the TimboSugarShow podcast. “Me vs. Petr Yan is happening. Could you guys imagine though, unranked champ? Going from f*****g rank number whatever to champ, cause I sleep the Russian in one. I don’t think they’re gonna give me that fight…the biggest fight would be me vs. Petr. Is Aljo f*****g fighting or what? Because Aljo supposedly pulled out and then he said he’s good.

“So dude I don’t know, do I stay ready for that fight? I did my sprints yesterday, my weight’s good,” O’Malley added. “So I’m technically in shape for about five minutes. It’s a 25-minute fight dude, I plan on f*****g going in there and in 10 minutes, take him out and if not get taken out baby. Petr, you don’t want to fight the poodle? I was running sprints last night, running sprints and shadow boxing. F*****g in my mind, I was fighting Petr on October 30. Four work weeks, so I was motivated and then I got high and ate pizza. I was like I’m gonna win and then after I was like nah you ain’t f*****g fighting this guy.”

O’Malley will have a far less glamorous fight against #15 ranked Rualian Paiva at UFC 269 on December 11. The same card his preferred opponent Dominick Cruz is expected to square off against Pedro Munhoz.

How do you think Sean O’Malley vs. Petr Yan would play out?
