Sean Strickland claims thoughts of being a father terrify him growing up sucked UFC 302

Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland questioned why people show compassion for the homeless.

Strickland has been known to voice his opinion, whether it is controversial or not. In his latest questionable comments, Strickland wondered why people show compassion to homeless people as he says they are just drug addicts who did it to themselves.

“I just don’t understand the love and compassion for homeless people. These people are drugged out zombies.. They’re not down on there luck trying to get better, they’re drug zombies They bring drugs and crime around your children. Yall need to man up and sack up,” Strickland wrote on X.

After Strickland’s comments, MMA journalist Helen Yee responded by saying she used to volunteer at a homeless shelter and what the former champ said it was not true.

“There is a difference between the guy at a shelter looking for a job and a guy doing the crack zombie walk past a park,” Strickland responded. “Big difference…”

It was a comment that not many fans agreed by Sean Strickland, but the former champ often makes comments that people don’t agree with.

Sean Strickland holding out for a title shot

Sean Strickland returned to the win column back in June with a decision win over Paulo Costa. It was his first fight after dropping his middleweight title by split decision to Dricus Du Plessis.

After the win over Costa, Sean Strickland made it clear that he would be holding out for a title shot.

“I’m going to wait,” Strickland said at the evening’s post-fight press conference (via MMAFighting). “I f*cking paid my f*cking dues. I paid my dues. I got f*cking robbed [at UFC 297] … we all know I got f*cking robbed, at least Dricus doesn’t back up. So I’m going to sit my f*cking ass in the gym and I’m going to be a team player and I’m going to f*cking wait, and I’m going to f*cking wait until they say, ‘Sean, go beat this man.’”

Sean Strickland is 29-6 as a pro and coming off the win over Costa.

The unique friendship between Sean Strickland and UFC interviewer Nina-Marie Daniele (also known as Nina Drama on social media) always produces entertaining results.

Recently, Strickland took another dig at his friend and former model after she posted a picture of herself at the Republican National Convention in July. Like Strickland, Daniele is a staunch supporter of Donald Trump, who was announced as the GOP’s presidential nominee for the third time.

Still, that didn’t stop him from taking a dig at Daniele in the most Strickland-esque of ways.

“Didn’t think they let Mexicans in the RNC….. “excuse me senorita the cleaning crew doesn’t come till after the white men leave” lmao,” Strickland wrote in response to Daniele’s appearance at the RNC.

Sean Strickland has been reminded of Nina Drama’s heritage on more than one occasion

For those unaware, Daniele is not Mexican. She’s actually French and Italian, something she has reminded ‘Tarzan’ of on more than one occasion.

Of course, Strickland’s constant trolling of Daniele’s heritage is just a bit of fun between the two.

Over the years, the unlikely duo have become close friends. Daniele has often been spotted in videos training alongside the former UFC middleweight world champion.

The two even engaged in a Roman Candle battle that nearly cost Strickland a nipple.

Sean Strickland was last seen inside the Octagon at UFC 302, scoring a split decision win over Paulo Costa. It was a return to the win column for ‘Tarzan’ after he surrendered the 185-pound crown to the current champion, Dricus Du Plessis, five months earlier at UFC 297.

Holding strong as the No. 1 ranked contender in the division, Strickland is content to sit on the sidelines and await the winner of the UFC 305 headliner this month between Du Plessis and the returning Israel Adesanya. The winner of that fight will leave Perth with the middleweight title and an inevitable rematch with Strickland.

Outspoken former UFC middleweight champion, Sean Strickland is the latest fighter to hit out at Algerian boxer, Imane Khelif after her knockout win over Italian opponent, Angela Carani overnight, after just 46 seconds – claiming the former’s presence in the Summer Olympic Games in Paris is a surefire point to “political wokeness”.

Khelif, who has been the subject of much-scrutiny across social media this week, made her return to the Olympics this week in a matchup against Italian fighter, Carani – scoring a first round TKO win after just 46-seconds, with the latter turning her back and signalling to her corner she would not be competing further.

Disqualified from World Championship competition last year after failing a gender test, Khelif’s inclusion amongst fellow female competition was confirmed by the IOC (International Olympic Committee) – who confirmed the Algerian was eligible to compete despite criticizm.

“All athletes participating in the boxing tournament of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 comply with the competition’s eligibility and entry regulations, as well as all applicable medical regulatons in accordance with rules 1.4 and 3.1 of the Paris 2024 Boxing Unit,” A statement from the International Olympic Committee read.

Posting a video on his official X account hitting out at Khelif’s inclusion amongst female boxing peers, Strickland blasted the Olympics as “politically woke”.

Despite failing gender tests, two boxers allowed to compete in Paris Olympics

“Here’s the facts,” Sean Strickland wrote. “The Olympics didn’t test this boxer (Imane Khelif) for political reasons. This boxer has failed a gender test in the past. The boxer may be intersex. This situation was created because the Olympics failed their athletes and their fans out of political wokeness.”

Khelif is scheduled to return to the ring tomorrow in a quarter final bracket, taking on Hungarian boxer, Luca Hamoni at the welterweight limit.

Dricus Du Plessis Predicts How Potential ‘Title Eliminator’ Sean Strickland vs. Robert Whittaker Would Go: ‘I Think It Comes Down To…’

As Dricus Du Plessis prepares to defend his middleweight title at UFC 305 for the first time, two of his former opponents could be set to meet in a huge clash.

Both former champions Robert Whittaker and Sean Strickland have claims to be the next in line for a title shot after Israel Adesanya.

Though Strickland believes he doesn’t need to fight again to get the next opportunity, a number one contender’s match-up would make a lot of sense for the division.

Having faced and defeated both men, Du Plessis finds this fight difficult to call but he did give his analysis and prediction.

Dricus Du Plessis Says Grappling Exchange Key To Whittaker vs. Strickland

Du Plessis has remained on the fence in the past when being asked about this fight because he didn’t have a clear image in his head of the way that it takes place.

He spoke during a recent interview with mainevent on Fox Sports where after giving it some thought, he broke down how he sees it going.

Du Plessis said the crucial element for both men is being able to utilize their greatest strengths, whether it’s the pressure of Strickland or the blitz assault from Whittaker.

He gave the bold prediction that this one could come down to who wins the grappling exchanges despite both men being known for their striking.

If this is the case, he sided with “The Reaper” to get his hand raised.

“The fact that I really honestly can’t say off the bat means it’s gonna be a great fight. I honestly think it’s going to come down to the same thing, imposing game plans. If you let Strickland walk forward like he did with Paulo Costa and like he did with Israel Adesanya, if you give him that space and that momentum, it’s really really hard to take it back and it’s really hard to swing that fight. So, to make sure that Rob fights his fight. If Rob can do his blitzes the way he does then I think he takes that fight. I think it comes down to a wrestling and clinch game and I think Rob wins that fight.”

Israel Adesanya returns to the Octagon at UFC 305 after taking some time off to put bad memories of his most recent outing behind him.

Adesanya lost his middleweight title to Sean Strickland in one of the biggest title fight upsets in UFC history last year at UFC 293.

Whilst the challenger had a great night in general, the defining moment of the fight was when he caught and dropped “The Last Stylebender” in the first round but was unable to get the finish.

This came as such a shock to many fans who felt like Strickland simply wouldn’t be on the same level as the champion, when it came to the striking exchanges.

Adesanya’s next opponent and the current champion paid special interest to this.

Dricus Du Plessis Says He Would’ve Finished Israel Adesanya With The Same Strike

Dricus Du Plessis is much more of a power striker than Strickland, who he defeated earlier this year to become the middleweight champion.

Whilst the former champ may be very accurate and defensively sound, “Stillknocks” has the momentum and force to stop any opponent and that gives him confidence ahead of August 17.

Du Plessis believes that he can close the show on Adesanya in their heated grudge match in Perth, especially if he’s able to land something similar to the strike Strickland landed last year.

He spoke in a recent interview with mainevent on Fox Sports about how “The Last Stylebender” wouldn’t have made it out of the first round if it was him in there that night.

“If I land that shot that Sean Strickland landed, the fight is over right there, 100%. We know that Strickland’s not a power puncher. I’ve felt, and Strickland’s a great boxer, his boxing is really really good. Very awkward and amazing jab, he throws that 1-2 and he does it great but he doesn’t have that starch power and he put him down. I honestly thought the fight was over but if I catch him with that shot then it’s over.”
