Robert Whittaker Endorses Khamzat Chimaev for Next Title Shot: 'Sitting Out Shouldn’t Be Rewarded'

Robert Whittaker thinks Khamzat Chimaev should be the next man up for middleweight champ Dricus Du Plessis.

‘Borz’ made a pretty compelling case at UFC 308, scoring a quickfire submission victory over Whittaker. With the win, Chimaev moved to the No. 3 spot in the 185-pound rankings and appears to be well on his way to his first title opportunity inside the Octagon.

However, the unbeaten Chechen monster may be waiting a bit after UFC CEO Dana White promised Sean Strickland the next title shot.

“Yes, [Strickland is still next],” White told reporters at a DWCS press conference in October.

White’s comments came weeks before Chimaev dropped jaws with his first-round neck-crank finish against ‘The Reaper’ in Abu Dhabi, leading many to suggest that ‘Borz’ be allowed to skip the line and walk straight into a scrap with ‘Stillknocks.’

Appearing on the MMArcade podcast with Jonny Roses, Whittaker echoed that same sentiment.

“I think [Khamzat] should go straight to Dricus,” Whittaker said. “I don’t think sitting out should be rewarded, ever.”

Khamzat Chimaev likely to face winner of ‘dDP’ vs. Strickland 2 instead of jumping the line

Following his win against Paulo Costa at UFC 302, Strickland made it clear that he planned to sit on the sidelines and wait for a rematch with Du Plessis. Clearly, Whittaker is not of fan of that strategy, but you can’t really blame Strickland for not wanting to put his spot at the front of the line at stake — especially after White confirmed he’s next.

No official date for ‘DDP’ vs. Strickland 2 has been locked down. Originally, the promotion had hoped to take the sequel scrap to Du Plessis’ home country, South Africa. Unfortunately, it sounds like that is no longer the case after White indicated issues with locking down a venue.

Sean Strickland & Dricus Du Plessis Team Up To Blast ‘Clown’ Jake Paul Over Mike Tyson Clash

UFC rivals Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis unexpectedly united to slam Jake Paul for fighting Mike Tyson.

Paul is primed to collide with Tyson in an eight-round heavyweight bout scheduled for Friday at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The highly debated boxing showdown has dominated headlines since its announcement, though not for the most favorable of reasons. The focal point has been the jaw-dropping 31-year age gap between the YouTuber-turned-boxer and the former undisputed heavyweight champion, a record-breaking divide that has sparked widespread skepticism about the competitiveness of the matchup.

Among the many critics of the Paul vs. Tyson bout, Strickland, who is no stranger to bashing “The Problem Child,” has joined the chorus. The former UFC middleweight champion recently took to X and lashed out at Paul over his matchup with the boxing legend in a series of tweets.

“@jakepaul [Jake Paul] is a clown,” Strickland tweeted. “Your ability to make money off stupid people is impressive, but being rich won’t buy you dignity. You’re fighting a 60-year-old man who is just trying to make a dollar by risking his life.. scum bag.”

Strickland then reacted to the Netflix promotional video for the fight, taking issue with the “All it takes is one punch” tagline.

“You’re fighting a 60-year-old… are you a f**king idiot?? This should be illegal… The man had a medical emergency a month before this because he’s too f**king old. F**king clown.”

Surprisingly, reigning UFC 185-pound champion Du Plessis chimed into the conversation, backing Strickland’s criticism of “The Problem Child”.

“I don’t always agree with you, but I second that,” Du Plessis wrote. “Still, believe Iron Mike KO’s him.”

“Iron Mike” hung up his gloves after a loss to Kevin McBride in June 2005. However, Tyson made a comeback to the ring for an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020, a bout that ultimately ended in a draw.

The Paul vs. Tyson fight was originally scheduled for July 20 but was delayed to November after Tyson experienced an ulcer flare-up during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles in May.

Sean Strickland Defends David Goggins, Urges Followers to ‘Stay Real’ Amid Social Media Drama

In an interesting twist, Sean Strickland kinda-sorta came to the defense of ex-U.S. Navy SEAL David Goggins on social media.

Over the last several months, Strickland and Goggins have taken digs at one another — much of it surrounding the former UFC middleweight champion’s negative comments about Navy SEALS. However, Strickland seemingly came to the defense of Goggins after seeing the ultramarathon runner get flustered by some negative comments online.

Recently, Goggins shared an inspirational message on Instagram that came from a teenager who is battling cancer. In the video caption, Goggins wrote:

“I know some of you don’t believe in God, I really don’t care if you do or don’t. This is a very powerful message from a young man who believes much bigger than himself.”

While a majority of the comments were positive, there were a few negative reactions to the video. That appeared to set Goggins off, prompting the fitness guru to post a video response.

Sean Strickland Offers His Take on David Goggins’ Frustration

Seeing both the posts, Strickland decided to reach out to Goggins and his followers with a very simple message.

“Alright, so David Goggins posted this video, and he’s losing his damn mind,” Strickland said. “Anyway, the gist of the video he posted was somebody who is dying of cancer. And this guy has deep faith in God, and I respect that. [The video has] millions and millions of views and a few negative comments. Statistically speaking, you wouldn’t even take it into a study how small that percentage is.

“Social media is not real, man, you guys need to understand this. These lives you see, these people you see, they are not real… This toxic cesspool of Instagram, it f*cking corrupts your brain. Social media is not real, guys. Real life is real[ly] nice.”

Rose Namajunas' Brother Addresses Grooming Allegations: "You don't get groomed at 17. They met at 17 he was 29."

Nojus Namajunas, the brother of two-time UFC champion ‘Thug’ Rose Namajunas, recently came to the defense of his sister’s highly questionable relationship with ex-fighter Pat Barry.

Namajunas and Barry’s relationship has been the recipient of significant scrutiny over the years, much of it surrounding Barry being significantly older than the flyweight contender. There is a 13-year age gap between the two with Namajunas being 32 years old and Barry being 45.

However, the issue lies in when the two first met before they began dating.

Rose Namajunas

Barry is said to have met Namajunas when she was just 14 years old which immediately raised accusations of grooming. Former UFC middleweight titleholder Sean Strickland brought those concerns to the forefront when he called Barry a “predator” and openly questioned their relationship in multiple social media posts.

Rose Namajunas’ Brother Gets Slammed by fight fans after making wild statement on social media

Recently, X user Josie Aldo broke down the timeline of their relationship and ascertained that Barry was likely 30 years old when he started dating a 17-year-old Namajunas.

While there were plenty of people in the comments condemning Barry for essentially dating a junior in high school, some were willing to give the heavyweight standout the benefit of the doubt — in particular, Namajunas’ brother who made a rather wild admission while attempting to defend Barry.

“You don’t get groomed at 17,” Nojus Namajunas wrote in response to the post. “They met at 17 he was 29. 17 is the age of consent where Pat is from. Again you are spreading lies. Is it on the edge? Sure but there’s no law against what they did. She was ALREADY MOLESTED AT AGE 11 now would you please let it rest?”

Rose Namajunas

You can probably guess what kind of reaction Nojus Namajunas got out of fight fans.

“It’s your sister bro the f*ck you defending him for,” one user questioned.

“Few cans short of a 12 pack, eh bud,” another added.

“If my brother let me down like this, I’d end it all,” a third wrote.

“You are a failure as a man if you think that’s normal. That’s your sister.”

“You’re a failure bro defending the guy that groomed your own sister is so f*cking nasty.”

“Failure of a brother. You should be embarrassed.”

“She was 14 when they met.”

“Defending your sister getting groomed is nasty work. Predator Pat got his claws in a whole family.”

Rose Namajunas

Namajunas’ last outing inside the Octagon ended in disappointment at UFC Edmonton on Saturday. After a strong start against Erin Blanchfield, ‘Thug’ seemingly ran out of steam in the later rounds and ultimately suffered a unanimous decision loss against ‘Cold Blooded.’ Namajunas is now 2-2 as a flyweight.

Sean Strickland lands knockout win over Abusupiyan Magomedov UFC Vegas 76 Highlights

UFC athlete Sean Strickland is well known for being scared of LGBTQ+ people and women. He often has outlandish rants about females, stating that they should stay in the kitchen and not be allowed to vote. Now, Sean Strickland has found an issue with female race car drivers.

Sean Strickland Talks Women

Sean Strickland has a long history of putting women down. He claimed that no one would watch women’s MMA if it wasn’t coupled with men’s MMA, saying “If the female MMA was to separate from the male MMA no one’s going to watch that s***.” Strickland suggested that even a “weak” male journalist could probably beat up Raquel Pennington, a female UFC fighter.

The UFC athlete Strickland made comments suggesting that women shouldn’t work, saying “Women don’t need to work, they need to stay home and raise a family.” He suggested that society needs to “put women back in the kitchen” and return to a time when only one man in a household needed to work. Strickland stated that women’s right to vote was an “error” and suggested women should be “put back in the kitchen.” Strickland criticized the idea of women entering the workforce, claiming it has led to lower wages for men.

The UFC athlete Strickland has now found a new target for him to rant over, female racecar drivers. On X, he Tweeted:

“You know what the craziest f*cking thing to me is? Female race car drivers. Vote, fight, run whatever man it’s a new world of equality but like how the f*ck did someone think it was a good idea to let you all drive fast?!”

Then responded to an image that outed Asian female drivers specifically, and he agreed.

As for female racecar drivers in NASCAR, Danica Patrick is perhaps the most well-known female NASCAR driver, Patrick competed full-time in the Cup Series from 2013-2017. Also, Hailie Deegan is currently competing full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, 22-year-old Deegan is one of the most prominent female drivers in NASCAR today. Additionally, Toni Breidinger holds the record for most wins (19) by a female driver in the United States Auto Club (USAC) history.
