Cheick Kongo picked up another wild come from behind win at Bellator 265.
In the main event of the evening, Kongo scored a submission win with just one second left on the clock in round two.
Prior to that, things weren’t going according to plan for Kongo who ate a ton of jabs and was even dropped by one in the first frame. However, midway through round two Kongo unleashed a series of punches that hurt Kharitonov. The Frenchman shot for a takedown and the two heavyweights hit the mat with an audible thud.
Kongo quickly transitioned to mount and Kharitonov tried to roll, exposing his neck. Kongo locked in the rear-naked choke and ultimately got the tap with just one remaining in round two.
What’s next for Cheick Kongo after his big win at Bellator 265?

Veteran heavyweight Sergei Kharitonov was the victim of a brutal assault at the hands of Adam Yandiev who is currently signed to the UFC
The incident took place at the ’Battle of Champions’ combat sports event in Moscow, Russia, and is believed to have been sparked by Kharitonov suggesting Yandiev owed him money – check out the clips below.
In a video interview from his hospital bed Kharitonov claimed Yandiev had attacked him with brass knuckles which caused serious damage to his eye socket as well as a nose injury that will require surgery, he said.
“I felt he hit me with something with his left hand. I know he always wore brass knuckles, he always had them with him… He broke my orbital bone.” (Translated by RT)
Kharitonov later took to social media to warn his fellow fighters against using their training outside of the cage, he wrote.
“I want to address all professional athletes. Don’t use your strength outside the gym, only if your close ones or those around you are threatened. We train to show the public our strength in the cage, the ring and on the tatami. The scariest thing is when people prepare specially in gyms to commit crimes. Trainers should identify such people and kick them out. I am a trained athlete, but in any case ended up in this situation. At least three months [of no] performances, fractures, bruises, etc… learn from the mistakes of others!”
Yandiev (9-1) who lost his first and only UFC fight to date in September 2018 also took to social media where he vowed to set the record straight regarding his altercation with Kharitonov.
“There will be a full interview, where [I will talk] from beginning to end about my relationship with this character,” wrote the fighter nicknamed ‘Beard’. About the conflict that happened between us. It’s all with the facts, the evidence. You’ll find out tomorrow. Please don’t write nonsense and heresy from the words of this liar. A little patience.”
Do you think Adam Yandiev will be cut by the UFC for attacking Sergei Kharitonov?

Bellator heavyweight Sergei Kharitonov believes Mike Tyson’s current shape at the age of 53 is a result of steroids.
Tyson made headlines recently when footage of him hitting the pads went viral. Along with him being in top shape again, it sparked rumors of a comeback which Tyson would confirm himself as he looks to return to action for a charity match.
“He’s juiced up, but it’s fine. There won’t be any doping-control,” Kharitonov said in a recent interview (via RT). “He’s taken testosterone, and some kind of health products. There’s no resentment towards Tyson here for that. He’s 53 years old.
“How else could he have got into more or less top shape? Only on steroids, there’s no other option.”
Kharitonov is even more convinced based on his own experiences of taking performance enhancing drugs when he was in the army.
“Have I ever taken supplements? In the army yes. When everybody tried all different tablets,” he added. “In my third or fourth year, when everybody weight trained, my friends brought nandrolone. I injected myself, to look good, to have a good body. I remember my muscles were like rocks.
“I looked in the mirror and realized it wasn’t for me. I stopped dabbling in that and don’t intend to. First, it’s bad for you. Secondly it’s illegal [in sport].”
