Now, it looks as though “No Love” was telling the truth all along. Dillashaw was suspended two years by USADA for failed drug test(s) stemming from samples collected in December and January.
Garbrandt, who lost back-to-back fights against Dillashaw, sounded off on his former teammate-turned-bitter rival earlier today on Twitter.
Test all his samples I bet for a fact more epo pops up, @TJDillashaw is a coward. Tj call me when that suspension is up! Scum bag https://t.co/LIjynev9VT
“No Love” then pointed out that all of his losses (3) have come at the hands of fighters who have been popped by USADA. That statement, although fundamentally correct, is not one hundred percent fact.
It should be pointed out Pedro Munhoz was ‘popped’ pre-USADA in 2014. Realizing he was ranting a bit, Garbrandt insisted he was done. He was not..
All of my losses are from Fighters that have popped for PEDs @ufc@usantidoping I can stand behind this when I say I’ll always be a drug free athlete, #1 reason is the believe I have in myself. #2 I respect the game Twitter rant over y’all have a good day
Garbrandt’s assessment is a fair one. He did throw his gameplan out the window in those fights and paid for it. However, he raises a fair point. The fact of the matter is, all of his losses have come at the hands of fighters who have had a history with PEDs.
“No Love” then turned his attention to Dillashaw’s striking coach, Duane Ludwig. Garbrandt went so far as to claim Ludwig was complicit in Dillashaw’s PED use.
Oh for sure Duane is crying that was his life’s work invested into him but Duane knew he was on the juice to. What a leader he is! https://t.co/CT4iE3r2aT
Dillashaw will be able to return to action in January of 2021. As for Garbrandt, the onetime bantamweight king finds himself on a three-fight skid, the first of his career.

Dillashaw was on the verge of cementing his legacy as one of, if not the, greatest bantamweights of all-time. Unfortunately, a failed drug test prior to his fight with Henry Cejudo in January has brought all of that into question. Dillashaw tested positive for recombinant human erythropoietin (EPO), and was subsequently handed a two-year suspension by USADA.
He voluntarily relinquished his then-held bantamweight title once the news initially broke. He then did not contest the USADA suspension when it was announced today (Tues. April 9, 2019). Journalist Chisanga Malata? has also brought up a very interesting past tweet from Dillashaw’s former teammate-turned-rival Cody Garbrandt.
A year ago, Garbrandt tweeted out that all of the “EPO” was going to Dillashaw’s head. Now, a year later, that’s the exact substance USADA has busted “The Viper” for:

It was announced earlier today (Tues. April 9, 2019) that Dillashaw has received a two-year suspension from the anti-doping agency. The suspension was first reported by ESPN. Dillashaw tested positive for recombinant human erythropoietin (EPO) prior to his flyweight title fight against Henry Cejudo in January. “The Viper” lost that fight via controversial first-round TKO.
Interestingly, Dillashaw didn’t contest the suspension, and will sit out the full two years before being eligible to return. Check out how the MMA community reacted to the news on Twitter here:

Bantamweight title contender Marlon Moraes isn’t buying T.J Dillashaw’s ‘great guy’ act and he doesn’t think the fans were tricked either.
Moraes is more than happy to fight for the vacant bantamweight title at UFC 238 in Chicago later this year. However, “Magic” would prefer if people would stop looking at Dillashaw like a martyr.
“No (expletive) way,” Moraes blurted Wednesday at the UFC Performance Institute (via MMAJunkie). “That’s his move, and that’s the part I don’t like about the whole situation. He’s trying to trick the fans and tell everybody he did this because he’s a great guy and wants to see the division flowing. Of course not.”
“He was away forever. He never said yes to fighting me, and he’s just tricking the fans. But I think everybody saw that. He came up with a notice in the morning. He was just anticipating what the UFC and (U.S. Anti-Doping Agency) was going to do later on.”
Don’t get it twisted, Moraes still has a tremendous amount of respect for the former champion. In fact, the Brazilian was quick to point out that Dillashaw’s skill set deteriorate because of a layoff.
“He’s good everywhere, so people hate,” Moraes said. “And everybody is saying this is just because he got caught. Ah, he’s (expletive). Then win the championship and see if that’s easy.”
“He’s one of the best in the world. I don’t care what he says happened to him. Skills-wise, he’s a very good fighter. And one day, we’re going to meet.”
For now, Moraes will have to settle for Henry Cejudo in a bantamweight title fight at UFC 238 in Chicago.
