Tom Brady, NFL all-time great, played a piece in the UFC booking the Las Vegas Sphere for its UFC 306 event. UFC president Dana White was on the fence about this until a phone call from Tom Brady convinced him.

September 14 the UFC will host Noche UFC, a Mexican Independence Day Celebration live from the Las Vegas Sphere. It will be headlined by Sean O’Malley vs. Merab Dvalishvili and Alexa Grasso vs. Valentina Shevchenko. A stacked event with two title matches for UFC 306.
However, the UFC was originally not interested in hosting an event at The Sphere. According to Dana White, he saw a U2 concert there with his friend Tom Brady, notable for his NFL career, and then changed his mind. In an interview, he said:
“Had Tom Brady not called me and asked me to go to U2 with him, I would have never even gone to the Sphere, and would have never seen it … Every day, when I wake up, crazy s**t goes down, and we have to deal with it on the fly, and it always leads to something bigger, or some other storyline, or something crazy that goes on.”
The reason they were hesitant to book at the Sphere was because of a prior bad relationship with the company MGM. Dana White explained:
“Like, look at this thing that happened with UFC Noche. The way that this played out is we’ve been treated like absolute s**t for the last 20 years by the MGM, and because of that, they allowed (Al) Haymon, God bless him, to slide in and steal that date after I had it and I flipped out.
Football star Tom Brady is certainly a long-time fan of the UFC and a friend of Dana White. When all-time great Jon Jones was making his heavyweight debut, Tom Brady sent him a message and said:
“Hey, Jon. I wanted to say welcome back to the main stage. It’s great to see the GOAT doing what he does best and doing what he’s meant to do. So I thought seven titles was a lot, you’ve doubled it, man! I know tonight’s not gonna be easy, Ciryl Gane standing on the other side of that octagon, he’s a bad man. It’s gonna be an incredible fight, Dana knows how to put on a great show, as always, and I wouldn’t miss this one for the world.”

On Sunday evening, Netflix presented a live three-hour event dedicated to roasting perhaps the greatest player in NFL history. The seven-time Super Bowl champion was surrounded by some of the best roasters in the business, including Jeff Ross and Nikki Glaser. He also took it on the chin from several former teammates and his ex-coach, Bill Belichick.
However, Brady wasn’t the only one getting b*tch slapped by a bevy of brutal jokes. Taking the stage, comedian Andrew Schulz targeted Dana White in what first started as a dig at Brady and his divorce from Brazilian fashion model Gisele Bündchen.
“Gronkowski, Edelman, Welker, that’s not a receiving core, that’s a law firm, and with that divorce coming up, you’re gonna f*cking need them! Oh, that’s why Dana [White] is here — so you can learn how to f*ck a Brazilian out of half their purse!”(h/t BJPenn.com).
Schulz wasn’t the only one to lay into Dana White during the festivities. Comedy Central Roast icon Jeff Ross poked fun at the CEO and his guests, which included UFC bantamweight champion ‘Sugar’ Sean O’Malley and BMF titleholder Max Holloway.
“What’s up, Dana? Look at this: Talk about a legend in the room,” Ross said. “Pull back. I want to show he brought the whole cast of ‘Queer Eye.’ Dana, who are these guys? Are these guys – are they neutered? What the f*ck is going on here? The sign said ‘No pets,’ Dana. I love you, Dana. You’re like Michael Vick but with human beings.”
Dana White Roasts Netflix
Of course, Dana White had his opportunity to lay it on a few people, including Netflix who was live broadcasting the event and only gave the UFC frontman 60 seconds to do his spiel.
“It pisses me off,” White said. “I flew all the way out here and you guys give me 60 seconds. My name is Dana. Is that not trans enough for you liberal f*cks?”

UFC CEO Dana White ripped into Netflix during the roast of Tom Brady on Sunday night.
White was in attendance alongside Max Holloway and Sean O’Malley, and the UFC CEO was given 60 seconds to give a roast, and he took a shot at Netflix during it.
“Let me get into this real quick,” White said, via DailyMail. “It p***es me off – I flew all the way out here and you guys only give me 60 seconds? My name is Dana. Is that not trans enough for you liberal f***s?’ Tom, you played for the Patriots for so long that I was actually starting to feel like you were from Boston. Then I saw you running and I was like, no he’s definitely from San Francisco.
“I got two of the baddest dudes in the world right now ‘Suga’ Sean O’Malley and Max Holloway. Tom, you would have been a great fighter, you’re already the master of the ground and pound. That’s what you call coffee dates with your boy Alex Guerrero,” White added.
The crowd had mixed results to Dana White’s commentary, but the UFC boss wasn’t pleased with just getting 60 seconds for his roast.
Dana White Gets Ripped During Tom Brady Roast
Along with White getting 60 seconds, comedian Andrew Schulz took a shot at the UFC CEO during his roast.
As he was talking about Brady’s divorce, Schulz said that is why Dana White is here so he can help Brady rip off a Brazilian.
“Gronkowski-Edelman-Welker, that’s not a receiving core, that’s a law firm, and with that divorce coming up, you’re gonna f***ing need them! Oh, that’s why Dana [White] is here – so you can learn how to f*** a Brazilian out of half their purse!,” Schulz said.
It was a funny joke from Schulz who even got White laughing. Ultimately, the UFC CEO had a few good moments during the roast.
