Kevin and George from the Uncut Sports Show bring you their weekly Ultimate Fighter Season 17 episode recap, in which they discuss this week’s battle between Dylan Andrews and Zak Cummings and the upcoming challenge between Bubba McDaniels and Clint Hester. They also address Don Frye’s controversial comments the other day about Randy Couture and Frank Muir purposely throwing their fights against Brock Lesnar to build up his popularity in the UFC. He thinks Lesnar is just a “waste of flesh” and would like to take him on one-on-one. Pretty daring challenge for a 40+ year old fighter passed his prime. Tune in to see if you agree with the guys and don’t forget to subscribe to the Uncut Sports Show for weekly episodes!

Don Frye wildly accused Brock Lesnar of having fixed fights in the UFC. Then he went on to call him an asshole and a waste of flesh. Frye finds it hard to believe that Lesnar is a better wrestler than Randy Couture and a better fighter than Frank Muir. What do you think? Did the UFC fix these fights to promote Brock Lesnar as their next big star?

The Ultimate Fighter 17, episode 8 had the final preliminary fight, the coaches challenge, and the wildcard pick. The final preliminary fight showcased Team Jones’ Dylan Andrews and Team Sonnen’s Zak Cummings. Andrews stood firm through the first two rounds and defeat Cummings via a majority decision. Next was the coaches’ challenge, where $10,000 was on the line in a Jon Jones- Chael Sonnen matchup. However, no punches were thrown, but rather heavy machinery was used to complete a bevvy of challenges. Jon Jones got out to a steady lead as Chael Sonnen struggled to stack tires with the excavator. However, it would be Jones’ folly in the end that would allow Sonnen to come back and seal the victory. Finally, the wild card choices are announced as Chael Sonnen makes the easy pick of Kevin Casey, while Jon Jones struggles to choose between top pick Clint Hester and underdog Robert “Bubba” McDaniel.

Following a successful Octagon debut last December former Strikeforce middleweight Derek Brunson (10-2) will look to make it two in a row when he steps into the cage opposite Brazilian native Ronny Markes (14-1) at the upcoming UFC on FUEL TV 10 event this summer.

News of the matchup surfaced earlier today at Tatame.com who confirmed the fight with Brunson “I love this fight. He’s a tough guy, but I’m going to Brazil to earn fans and win. I always wanted to fight for the UFC in Brazil.”

UFC on Fuel TV: Nogueira vs. Werdum (aka UFC on FUEL TV 10 and TUF Brazil 2) will host the season two finals of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil and is expected to take place on June 8, 2013 at Ginásio Paulo Sarasate in Fortaleza, Brazil. Officials with the promotion have yet to confirm the bout.

Brunson debuted last December at UFC 155, picking up a unanimous decision over fan favorite Chris Leben. Brunson stepped in as a late replacement for an injured Karlos Vemola at the Vegas event. Prior to that, the middleweight fought in the Strikeforce cage, losing by first round knockout to Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza in August 2012.

Markes has won his last seven bouts which includes three under the UFC banner. He fought at home in Brazil in his last bout, earning a decision victory over Andrew Craig at the UFC on FX 7 show last January. Markes dropped down to middleweight before that, winning his 185-lbs debut via split decision over Aaron Simpson at UFC on FUEL TV 1.
