Dan Hardy claims that both he and Woodley have agreed to fight and is wondering what the holdup is on making it official.

Dan Hardy and Tyron Woodley have been involved in a war of words since Woodley’s boxing match with Jake Paul in August. Their exchanges started off publicly before landing in the DMs, which Hardy then also made public. Now, Hardy is looking to turn this “war” into a true one, with a battle waged until one side falls.

“The Outlaw” claims all the pieces are in place for this to happen. According to Hardy, both sides have already agreed on all the terms for a boxing match for the first quarter of 2022. But he says there’s just one small problem: Woodley refuses to put his name on the dotted line.

“My contract is signed. And I know that he’s got a contract sitting in front of him, and the deadline is approaching, and he doesn’t want to sign it,” Hardy said on a recent appearance on Submission Radio. “And I don’t know why. I don’t know what the deal is because terms have been agreed, money’s been agreed, date’s been agreed, rules and conditions, weight class—everything’s been agreed. But he hasn’t yet signed the contract. So you tell me. Tyron Woodley, why have you not signed it, The Frozen One?”

The “Frozen One” nickname comes from Hardy’s criticisms of Woodley’s performance against Jake Paul. Hardy assessed Woodley as being frozen and unable to sustain aggression against Paul and even stated that he looked like a “sack of shit” in the fight. Earlier this month, Hardy went as far as to say that if he were to face Woodley in a boxing match, he’d finish him in two rounds.

Now, based on the revelations made in this interview, he’ll have a chance to prove it if Woodley signs the contract. When asked who the promotion is behind this mysterious contract, Hardy offered the following response after a brief stammer.

“It’s a new promotion, but it’ll be the first quarter of next year in the UK. That’s the plan. That’s the deal. And the money they offered him is good, and they agreed to it. I know it’s more than he’s getting anywhere else as well. That’s a fact. So he needs to strap on a pair and sign the contract so we can get this done.”

Tyron Woodley had hoped to land a rematch with Jake Paul instead, even to the point of getting the “I Love Jake Paul” tattoo to seal the deal, a move that Hardy also criticized. But with Paul currently expected to box Tommy Fury in December instead, that leaves Woodley with the freedom to let out his tattoo-induced frustrations on someone else. And this Outlaw is stepping up as a willing volunteer to duel with “The Chosen One.”

Dan Hardy has not competed in combat sports since 2012 due to not being medically cleared to compete after being diagnosed with a heart condition. Hardy claims that his clearance is being finalized for him to compete in ONE Championship or any other combat opportunity, including this alleged boxing match against Tyron Woodley.

Kamaru Usman Says Fans Are Blaming Him For Tyron Woodley’s Downfall

Kamaru Usman says he’s been copping “mad blame” for the sad state in which Tyron Woodley’s career is ending, and that he feels disrespected by the former welterweight champ.

Since Usman captured his UFC title in dominant fashion over Woodley in 2019, their careers have taken wildly different trajectories. Usman has gone on to defend his belt four times, and looking better with each fight, has truly become a “Nigerian Nightmare” for the 170-pound division. The 34-year-old recently deposed Jon Jones as the UFC’s pound-for-pound king and will look to extend his win-streak to 15 fights when he faces Colby Covington on November 6.

Woodley, on the other hand, has gone from being one of the greatest UFC welterweight champs of all time, to fighting—and losing—to YouTuber Jake Paul. Not only that, the 39-year-old suffered the further indignity of permanently inking his love for Paul in a vain attempt to secure a rematch.

Usman Says Woodley Isn’t Returning Respect, Takes Dig At Jake Paul Tattoo

Usman hasn’t taken any pleasure in witnessing his former rival’s fall from grace, however.

When asked by Daniel Cormier about Woodley’s decision to have “I love Jake Paul” tattooed on his finger, Kamaru said it saddened him to see the former champ stoop to such a low, and that much of the blame for Woodley’s sorry situation is being levelled at him.

“Come on, man. Come on. It is sad, to where every time this man competes, everyone blames me for the outcome. I get mad blame and a lot of hate on Twitter and Instagram about it, that, ‘Oh, this is your fault. This is your fault. You did this to him. You did this to him. This is your fault.’ I like Tyron. Has there ever been a place where you saw me disrespect Tyron?

“I’ve always shown Tyron the utmost respect as a champion, as a black man, as a father. I’ve always shown him that ultimate respect. But for some reason, that doesn’t reciprocate from Tyron. It doesn’t reciprocate at all,” said Usman.

Considering Woodley’s former status as a super dominant welterweight champ, the four-fight skid that ended his UFC career was perhaps one of the swiftest and most devastating downfalls in the franchise’s history. Kamaru offered his critique of perhaps why Woodley failed to ever recover from losing his belt.

“As a champion who has suffered defeat, even in college, even in wrestling, you should know how to bounce back. And you should know that, ‘I have to overcome that. I have to let that go, make amends with that, fix the mistakes, and get back to the bag.’ And that’s just something that I feel like he hasn’t done,” said Usman.

Kamaru Usman

While Woodley may end his career on a five-fight losing streak, including a loss to a social media influencer, at least we can say “The Chosen One” has made bags of in the process. Or, can we?

“So why’d he get the tattoo?” said Usman when Cormier suggested Woodley made bank with his last fight. “You gotta get it in writing. It don’t mean nothing if you don’t have it in writing. Ask Deontay Wilder.”

What do you think? Does Tyron Woodley’s downfall lay at the feet of Kamaru Usman—or himself?

Henry Cejudo Names Tyron Woodley as the Active Cringe King of Fighting

Former UFC flyweight and bantamweight titleholder Henry Cejudo isn’t a fan of Tyron Woodley‘s new ‘I love Jake Paul’ tattoo, and thinks the former welterweight champion could be the new ‘cringe king’ of MMA.

Cejudo has remained in the public eye since retiring from the UFC last year, following his win over Dominick Cruz in his bantamweight title defense at UFC 249. He is still training down in Arizona and has hinted at a possible return to the octagon to potentially face UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski.

Cejudo was always known to be a bit cringe during his time in the UFC, especially beginning when he won the flyweight title over Demetrious Johnson at UFC 227. But he thinks that Woodley may take the top spot amongst active fighters in combat sports.

Henry Cejudo thinks Tyron Woodley is unnaturally cringe

“I’m gonna have to give it to Tyron Woodley because it’s so unnatural,” Cejudo said in an interview with MMA Mania. “He so doesn’t see it. Colby Covington, he’s playing a character, it’s a persona. But Tyron Woodley, he just doesn’t see it, man. It’s gone wild, it’s a circus, man.

“He’s just so cringe,” Cejudo continued. “The dude has an ‘I love you, Jake Paul’ [tattoo] on his middle finger, and his movie sucks. But I’ll tell you what, he can promote a fight. He’s got a mouthpiece on ’em, but his actions don’t speak louder than his words. You want the gold? You got the gold, brother.”

Woodley fell to Jake Paul by a split decision earlier this summer and is hellbent on eventually getting a rematch with the controversial boxer turned YouTuber. Much to the chagrin of Cejudo, Woodley agreed to get a tattoo if Paul agreed to an immediate rematch, which hasn’t materialized. Paul will reportedly face Tommy Fury later this year.

What are your thoughts on Henry Cejudo’s comments regarding Tyron Woodley?

It’s no secret that Henry Cejudo is seen by many as the ‘king of cringe’ in MMA, but he thinks former UFC champion Tyron Woodley isn’t far off.

Cejudo has remained in the public eye despite retiring from the UFC following his win over Dominick Cruz at UFC 249. Aside from his greatness inside of the Octagon, he was (and still is, to an extent) known as a bit of an odd character in the eyes of many fans.

But Cejudo thinks Woodley deserves to be in the conversation when discussing the most cringe athletes in combat sports today.

Henry Cejudo blasts Tyron Woodley, labels him as second-most cringe

“He’s just so cringey,” Cejudo said during a recent interview with MMA Mania. “The dude has an ‘I love you, Jake Paul’ tattoo on his middle finger. But I’ll tell you what, he can promote a fight. He’s got a mouthpiece on ’em, but his actions don’t speak louder than his words. He lost to a YouTuber.”

“Colby Covington, he’s playing a character,” Cejudo continued. “But, Tyron Woodley, he just doesn’t see it. It’s gone wild.”

Woodley recently lost his boxing debut to YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul by a split decision, and is vying for an immediate rematch. Paul has made his opinions about a rematch clear and is turning his attention to a potential fight with Tommy Fury.

As for Cejudo, he’s contemplated returning to the UFC to challenge for the featherweight title against Alexander Volkanovski. The two combatants have gone back and forth in the media and online in recent months. Cejudo has also hinted at a return to bantamweight to fight either Aljamain Sterling or Petr Yan.

It’s safe to say that Cejudo isn’t a fan of Woodley’s approach to promoting fights, but the self-proclaimed cringe king isn’t willing to leave the throne anytime soon.

Do you agree with Henry Cejudo that Tyron Woodley is right behind him on the cringe meter?

Jake Paul Formally Announces Fight With Tommy Fury On Dec. 18

If Tyron Woodley does get a rematch against Jake Paul, he’s going to have to wait for it now that Paul has formally announced his fight with Tommy Fury.

After previous unconfirmed reports, Jake Paul confirmed the fight via Twitter on Friday.

“Pucker up Timmy, it’s time to kiss ur last name and ur family’s boxing legacy goodbye. DEC 18th Im changing this wankers name to Tommy Fumbles and celebrating with Tom Brady. Tickets on sale November 10th!”

As seen on the poster, the fight will be available on Showtime PPV and will take place in the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. And as Paul referenced in his announcement, Fury will literally be putting his name on the line.

Paul Makes New Bet With Fury After Cashing In On Woodley Bet

On August 29, Jake Paul defeated Tyron Woodley via split decision. When the fight was over, Woodley was already campaigning for a rematch while both competitors were still in the ring. Paul agreed to grant Woodley the rematch if he followed through on their tattoo bet and immediately get the “I Love Jake Paul” tattoo.

Weeks later, Woodley finally caved and got the tattoo, hoping that this would seal the rematch. Instead, Paul has a new opponent and a new bet.

Jake Paul and Tommy Fury have been trash-talking one another for some time, including backstage after the Paul/Woodley bout. Fury had competed in the undercard of the event, picking up a unanimous decision victory over Anthony Taylor. When the two ran into one another, they had a heated exchange, which set the stage for a future bout.

Paul made the negotiations between himself and Fury public, offering the Englishman a $1 million payday to accept the fight. Fury rejected the offer but things took a turn when big brother Tyson got involved in the mix.

Tommy’s older brother, lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, stated that if Tommy loses to Jake Paul, he would force his little brother to change his last name. This sparked an idea from “The Problem Child,” who made the following bet proposal: If Fury beats him, then Fury gets paid an additional $500,000 on top of the $1 million base salary. However, if Paul defeats Fury, Fury must legally change his name to “Tommy Fumbles.”

Fury quickly accepted Paul’s conditions, which led to the following celebration from Paul on social media.

“Ladies and gentlemen, the bank robbery has commenced!” a giddy Paul announced to his Twitter followers.

Here’s a look at the terms as laid out in the official contract:

In the wake of Tyron Woodley’s defeat to Jake Paul, Dan Hardy believes he dusts “The Chosen One” and takes him out within two rounds.

Dan Hardy, 39, has not fought since 2012 but has teased his return to mixed martial arts several times now. In spite of all the talks of returning he has yet to make his comeback. Nevertheless, he is stoking the fire with Tyron Woodley as the two have recently traded barbs in a private text message conversation.

Speaking with Jimmy Smith on SiriusXM, Hardy continued to prod at Woodley. “The Outlaw” firmly believes he would stop Woodley in two rounds and cited the former welterweight champion’s decline in activity during fights as fuel for his fire.

“Of course, if he shows up even twice as good as he did against Jake Paul, I would stop him in two rounds. Hardy stated. He just doesn’t have the work rate anymore. He didn’t have the confidence to go anymore and I get it, it does pass you by. I’m probably sounding a bit hypocritical here cause people are gonna say the same thing. It’s been nearly 10 years since I fought but in my head, I’m never gonna retire.”

As of this writing, Tyron Woodley continues to call for the rematch against Jake Paul. Following his split decision loss to “The Problem Child”, weeks later, Woodley got the ‘I love Jake Paul’ tattoo.

It remains to be seen if Paul will bite on Woodley’s latest offering. Meanwhile, it appears “The Chosen One” has another big name lined up to fight him as Dan Hardy continues to throw his name into the hat. While Hardy proceeds to weigh his fighting options, should he finally make his move, MMANews.com will be the first to inform you.
