When Firas Zahabi‘s PED accusations against Jake Paul were brought up in an interview with MMA Junkie this week, Paul explained that he hasn’t been tested for any substances ahead of the bout with Tyron Woodley this Sunday night.
Firas Zahabi claimed on his YouTube channel that the up-and-coming boxer was cheating going into the bout, where Woodley was not.
“I definitely think Jake Paul’s gonna be on PEDs,” Zahabi said. “It exists in the world of boxing just like it exists in MMA, and I don’t think Tyron will be on PEDs. I think Tyron will be totally natural. Does it make a difference? It absolutely does.”
However, when this accusation was brought up to the Youtuber, Paul responded: “My manager sent me that the morning it came out like, ‘Hey, by the way, Georges St-Pierre’s coach said you’re on PEDs,’” Paul said. “So I swiped up my phone – this is a true story on my mom’s life, she’s looking me in my eyes (right now) – I swipe up my phone, click Safari and type in, ‘What’s PEDs?’ Then I see it says performance-enhancing drugs. I texted my manager back, ‘Good thing I had to Google what PEDs are.’ But I look at it as a compliment. People are trying to do anything they can to discredit me and take away from this journey. They’re already making excuses for him when he loses.”
Paul explained that the Ohio State Athletic Commission hasn’t tested him once during the lead-up to his 190 pound bout this weekend. Paul did explain however, that if need be he’ll gladly take a test when asked to do so.
“Not yet. I think that happens the day of the fight or the day before the fight. But test me whenever.”
As for Zahabi, Paul thinks the renowned MMA coach is simply clout chasing and will be happy to hear him talking about him.
“Of course, he’s doing it to get clout. Look at it, four weeks later, it’s still getting brought up in the interview, his name gets mentioned, and then he gets some clout. I’m sure he’s a happy little wanker jerking off to these videos somewhere, getting all excited for the clout he’s getting,” Paul said.
This now begs an important question: has Jake Paul been tested for illegal substances?

Jake Paul has taken over the combat sports world since the brash YouTuber turned to boxing, and he says he’s looking to earn people’s respect. Paul is coming off a first-round KO over Ben Askren and he will now face Tyron Woodley on Sunday in Cleveland. It’s a big step-up in competition for Paul but […]

Jake Paul defeated BenAskrenback in April in less than two minutes.
‘Funky’ was the first actual fighter that Paul faced. Prior to the Askren fight, Paul beat a fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib and former NBA player Nate Robinson. He has won all three fights by KO/TKO. The 24-year-old has the biggest challenge of his young career this Sunday, August 29 staring down the always dangerous ‘Chosen One’ Tyron Woodley.
Askren has had this to say in regards to the fight Sunday and how it will reflect on his past fight with Paul.
“I’m still not under the conclusion that [Jake Paul] is a great boxer, He did hit me one time really good, but it wasn’t like he beat me soundly over six rounds. He does hit hard, I guess we’ll give him credit for that. I tell you what, if he’s able to beat Tyron, I will probably feel much better about what happened to me, because I’ll think ‘damn, Tyron’s really good.’ I think that’s probably unlikely, but in that case, that’s probably what I’d think.” (H/T bloodyelbow)
Askren tends to believe that Woodley is the better fighter and would be surprised if he were to lose to Paul this weekend.
The 39-year-old is still in tremendous fighting shape and has been taking the training for this fight very seriously. His will to win may have risen a level with the run in the beloved ‘Mama Woodley’ had with Paul’s camp members.
Whether you like Paul or not, it is undeniable he has some power in that right hand. At the press conferences held yesterday, Paul explained how he feels he can showcase his full arsenal against Woodley.
“People will see… this kid can fight. He’s got skills, he can take a punch. That gas tank is nice. That inside fighting is nice. That body work is nice. That jab is nice. That 1-2 is nice. I might come out southpaw, I haven’t even shown that yet.” Paul said at yesterday’s press conference. He has been promising a KO blow to ‘The Chosen One’ as he did to Ben Askren earlier this year.
Does a KO from Jake Paul this Sunday make Ben Askren’s loss look any better?
