It’s no secret that there’s a lot of bad blood between UFC lightweights Donald Cerrone and Nate Diaz going into Friday’s bout.

In the video above, Cerrone and Diaz get right into each other’s faces at the pre-fight press conference for this weekend’s UFC 141.  Diaz can be seen knocking Cerrone’s trademark cowboy hat off his head before UFC President Dana White was forced to intervene.

Both fighters, known for their intensity in and outside of the Octagon, have been butting heads even before the matchup was announced.

According to Cerrone, Diaz refused to shake his hand when “The Cowboy” introduced himself at the open workout media event prior to UFC 137.

“He slaps my hand away, called me a punk-ass, and walks off,” Cerrone recalled in the UFC’s preview promo for UFC 141.

Diaz also recalled the incident, saying, “Yeah, he shouldn’t have done that. He’s in my bracket and we’re gonna fight each other. You go your way and I’ll go mine.”

Cerrone has had an extraordinary 2011, winning not only all four of his bouts, but also taking each fight night bonus.

In his last two outings, Cerrone took Submission of the Night and Knockout of the Night over Dennis Siver and Charles Oliveira respectively.

“The Cowboy” also took a Fight of the Night bonus at UFC 126 for his second-round rear-naked choke victory over Paul Kelly.

Diaz is coming off the biggest win of his career, taking Submission of the Night at UFC 135 for his first-round armbar win over Pride legend Takanori Gomi.  The win marked Diaz’s return to the lightweight division after two straight losses to UFC welterweights Rory MacDonald and Dong Hyun Kim.

Alistair Overeem Calls Bout with Brock Lesnar "One of the Biggest Fights Ever"

Alistair Overeem’s credibility as a fighter has always been up for debate, especially since he made the transition to the heavyweight division in 2008.

His 255-pound, chiseled frame has brought attention to the former Strikeforce heavyweight champion. Overeem has had to address the media on multiple occasions regarding his alleged steroid abuse.

Overeem will make his UFC debut this weekend against Brock Lesnar, and despite all the attention he has received thus far, the Dutchman isn’t about to wilt under pressure or become distracted.

“There have been some distractions, yes, but I’m pretty good at focusing myself, keeping the focusing on the training,” Overeem told MMAJunkie.com during an open workout earlier this week. “My team has also taken, I’d say, 99 percent of the weight off my shoulders, and that kept me focused.”

Overeem and Lesnar are slated to meet in the main event at UFC 141. The winner is then expected to challenge the current heavyweight champion, Junior dos Santos.

The amount of attention Overeem has received since his arrival to the UFC would certainly be overwhelming for some fighters—especially those headlining a main card—but “The Demolition Man” is having to answer more questions than usual.

Overeem anticipates this kind of attention in the spotlight. He said he believes there is a lot of value surrounding his upcoming bout with Lesnar.

“Of course then there’s going to be more media, more cameras, more people, more opinions, more everything. But it’s part of our job,” he said. “In my opinion, this is one of the biggest fights ever.”

In his latest video blog installment leading up to this Friday’s UFC 141, UFC president Dana White clears up some controversy regarding the coveted fastest knockout in the promotion’s history.

White breaks down the three fastest candidates and, unofficially, awards UFC welterweight and lightweight Duane Ludwig with the top spot.

For years, Ludwig has been petitioning for the fastest knockout with his 2006 win over Jonathan Goulet. Controversy surrounded the exact time of the finish as the Nevada Athletic Commission’s time keeper mistakenly clocked the knockout at 11 seconds into the first round.

In the video, White explains that time is kept from when the referee starts the bout until he or she ends the fight by placing his or her hands on the combatants. Looking over Ludwig’s finish, the exact time was actually 6.06 seconds.

White states that although the athletic commission refuses to reverse their decision, the UFC will recognize Ludwig’s knockout as the fastest in the promotion’s history.

Also in the video, White breaks down the second- and third-fastest knockouts, including former UFC heavyweight Todd Duffee’s 7.56-second knockout of Tim Hague at UFC 102 and UFC featherweight Chan-Sung Jung’s 6.26-second knockout of Mark Hominick at UFC 140.

Now having substantial proof of the almost five-second disparity between the NAC’s time and the actual time of the knockout, White hopes that they will reverse their decision.

UFC 141: Why Brock Lesnar Must Beat Alistair Overeem to Save His MMA Career

With UFC 141 just days away, the debate over the main event of Brock Lesnar versus Alistair Overeem has been taken on from every angle.

There have been arguments over which fighter will come out on top. Debates on how the fight will end and how quickly it will be over. Discussions on which fighter needs this win more.

Both heavyweights bring very different skill sets to the Octagon.

Lesnar’s collegiate wrestling background combined with his brute strength has allowed him to overwhelm many of his opponents. There has been some question of his ability to take a punch, but there is no doubt that Brock is a challenge for any fighter.

Alistair Overeem comes with maybe the best technical striking in the heavyweight division. He is a K-1 striking champion as well as a world grappling champion. He may be one of the few heavyweights that can match Lesnar’s size and strength.

The winner of this fight will go on to face Junior Dos Santos for the UFC heavyweight championship.

While this fight means a great deal to both fighters, I feel that this fight means everything to Lesnar.

Here is five reasons why Lesnar must win at UFC 141.
