Michael Bisping appeared on this week’s edition of “Inside MMA” on AXS TV and while speaking with hosts Bas Rutten and Ron Kruck, he had plenty to say about the UFC’s current 185-pound landscape.

When asked about the possibility of challenging reigning champion Luke Rockhold for the title in a rematch of a fight he lost to Rockhold the first time around, “The Count” claims he’ll still be able to generate interest in a Bisping-Rockhold bout by the time the fight hits the Octagon.

“This is a business and I will sell that fight. People will want to see me fight Rockhold. I will get people interested. Everyone else in the division they’re all boring, or can’t speak English, or they’re all taking steroids and serving suspensions.”

Regarding the upcoming title rematch between Rockhold and former champion Chris Weidman, which headlines UFC 199 in June, Bisping feels Rockhold will have an easier time with Weidman this time around.

“I think Rockhold is going to go out there he’ll smoke Weidman again. He’ll make it look even easier. And I’ll finally get my chance to get my hands on blondie and smash those good looks.”

Headlined by Rockhold-Weidman II for the UFC Middleweight title and featuring Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber III for the UFC Bantamweight title, UFC 199 takes place at The Forum in Inglewood, California on Saturday, June 4, 2016.

CM Punk, who was set to make his UFC debut against Mickey Gall in either June or July, had his MMA plans put on hold after he recently underwent surgery to repair a herniated disc in his neck. His post-surgery recovery is expected to be four-to-six weeks.

Punk said Monday on The MMA Hour his doctors told him before the UFC Fight Night 82 event that featured Mickey Gall vs. Michael Jackson that he would have to undergo surgery and that he felt bad for pulling out of the fight.

“I felt like sh*t about it. I wanted to tell everybody, but it was also a case of let’s just see where this goes and see what happens. I got the MRI Friday night, and I was literally diagnosed Saturday, right before I walked out to watch Mickey and Michael Jackson fight.”

“(They handled it) wonderfully, in my opinion,” Punk said. “I was in with Dana and Lorenzo, and we were talking, and Dr. Sanders just came up, and he goes, ‘alright, here it is.’ He laid it all on the table for us. Of course, Dana lets out this big sigh, and he’s like, ‘ugh, we can’t get a break.’ So immediately I go into, ‘well, maybe there’s a shot I can get? Maybe I can do cortisone? Whatever.’ And Lorenzo and Dana stop me, and they went, ‘no, no, no, it is what it is. We just want you to get fixed and get healthy. We have shows every month, don’t worry about it.’

“It’s just, the timing sucked. I’m literally about to walk out and do this thing (at UFC Fight Night 82). And they were great. It’s hard not to compare and contrast to where I used to work before. It was just a relief to finally have a boss who was like, ‘no, no, just get fixed, we want you 100-percent, we want you to be healthy,’ not interested in throwing a band-aid on a bullet wound just to parade me out in front of people. So it was a relief, and it felt nice.”

When asked when he’ll fight next? Punk isn’t sure on an exact date but knows that it will be in 2016.

“I don’t know,” Punk said. “Part of me, I’ve learned from my past mistakes, and I’m not going to say a date that everyone’s going to get married to, and then I’m going to have to hear about how I’m never going to fight. I’m going to fight. It’s going to be this year. And like I said, I see the [doctor] tomorrow, and I’m going to talk with him about all kinds of other extracurricular things I can do to probably speed this along. See if I can start doing acupuncture again, things like that. In my mind, that card at [Madison Square] Garden (in November) would be a nice second fight, but I don’t know how realistic that is, because again, I don’t want to say things that people are going to be taking to heart.”

He signed with the UFC in December of 2014.

Despite Bad Blood, T.J. Dillashaw Rooting For Faber In Trilogy Bout Against Cruz

Although T.J. Dillashaw and Urijah Faber have their problems dating back to when Dillashaw decided to leave Faber’s “Team Alpha Male” to continue to work with Duane “Bang” Ludwig while he was the UFC’s 135-pound champion, that doesn’t mean Dillashaw won’t be cheering for Faber in his upcoming fight against the man who took the 135-pound title from Dillashaw, Dominick Cruz.

Dillashaw spoke about the Faber-Cruz trilogy fight during his appearance on a recent edition of Ariel Helwani’s “The MMA Hour” at MMAFighting.com and explained why he will actually be rooting for Faber in the upcoming title fight against Cruz.

“I have to be happy for Urijah. I had a friendship with the guy, it’s a cool story if he goes out and beats [Cruz] and finally gets his belt in like his eighth title shot or something like that, it would be a cool way for him to finish his career in the UFC. So I’m going to root for him, even through all this drama going on, this bullcrap that got blown out of the water that went on between me and him. I still hope he wins the fight, I like him a lot more than I like Cruz. Cruz is not very respectful and kind of a dick.”

While he will be cheering for Faber to beat Cruz, Dillashaw admits that when push comes to shove, he’s actually predicting a Dominick Cruz victory.

“Cruz [wins], for sure. Cruz is a little too athletic for Faber, Faber is flat-footed. … It’s kind of crazy that Team Alpha Male hasn’t caught on to the way [Cruz] fights. He’s got two weapons and that’s pretty much it.”

Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber III is scheduled to serve as the co-main event for UFC 199 on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

Ex-middleweight champion Chris Weidman, a gritty wrestler from Long Island, New York, rose to prominence when he shockingly knocked out former legendary divisional kingpin Anderson “The Spider” Silva back at UFC 162 in 2013.

Weidman would then once again topple Silva at UFC 168 after “The Spider” suffered a gruesome leg injury, giving “The All-American” back to back milestone victories.

The New Yorker would secure two more title defenses over the likes of Lyoto Machida and Vitor Belfort before surrendering his strap to reigning champion Luke Rockhold at last December’s UFC 194.

Weidman will get his chance at redemption when he meets Rockhold in a rematch at the upcoming UFC 199 (June 4, 2016), and the former champion admits that this rematch lies bigger than his bouts with Silva:

“This is a do or die fight for me,” said Weidman. “I have to go out there and dominate him. This is my career on the line. This is bigger than my Anderson Silva fights.” Weidman said on a recent edition of Inside MMA.

The first fight saw the two men go back and forth for much of the opening minutes before an ill-advised spinning kick attempt by Weidman gave Rockhold the upper hand later in the bout.

The Serra-Longo product had also apparently come into the fight with a broken foot, also previously admitting that his mental state may not have been where it should have.

Now, however, the former boss feels as if he’s back to normal, and ready to recapture glory:

“I know where I was at for that last fight,” added Weidman. “I know my potential. I know where I was physically and mentally at and I know where I can be at.”

Will Weidman be able to fix his mistakes and come out on top in the rematch?
