Jon Jones fully acknowledges that his legacy will be tarnished due to re-occuring steriod issues.

In the wacky world of MMA, Jones takes the cake. His recent “atypical” test is the latest in a long list of missteps for the former two-time light heavyweight champ.

Jones knows that proving his innocence is nearly impossible. However, he took time to address that issue along with his fellow fighters feelings earlier at the UFC 232 pre-fight press conference.

“So basically, this situation’s been really crazy,” Jones said. ” I understand that there’s a lot of fighters coming from all over the world to be here, all over the country. And I wanted to make this as right as possible. Ultimately the UFC is, our slogan is ‘As real as it gets.’ People spend their hard-earned money. And it’s all about the fans at the end of the day. I wanted to do what I can to do it, I said, let me go out there and meet some of the people who make this all possible.”

“I am in an interesting spot in the UFC. You know, I feel like I am a polarizing athlete. It’s just gonna follow me, it’s gonna follow me. The way I deal with that is by waiting for USADA and now VADA to continue to doing their research as to what’s going on in my body. I think through their study I’ll be vindicated. And just continue trying to stay on the right path, trying to do the right things, and just focus on what I can control.”

UFC 232 takes place at The Forum in Inglewood, Ca. Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson will headline the event and Cris “Cyborg” Justino will face Amanada Nunes in the co-main event.

With the controversy going around regarding Jon Jones recent drug test ahead of UFC 232, UFC Vice President of Athlete Health and Performance Jeff Novitzky offered some insight today (Thurs. December 27, 2018).

Novitzky joined longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan’s podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” to offer some in-depth explanation for the situation. Initially, Jon Jones was scheduled to face Alexander Gustafsson in the main event of UFC 232 this weekend (Sat. December 29, 2018) from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

However, after Jones tested positive for the same substance that forced him to be suspended last year, the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) did not license Jones to fight. Because of this, the UFC was forced to relocate the fight to The Forum in Inglewood, California, where Jones was able to get licensed.

During Novitzky’s appearance on JRE, Rogan asked the UFC VP of Athlete Health and Performance several questions about the debacle. Maybe the most poignant revelation was that Jones supposedly tested positive for the ‘atypical finding’ back in August. MMA Fighting’s Marc Raimondi even brought that exact finding up during today’s UFC 232 press conference:

Check out Rogan and Novitzky’s conversation here:

Alexander Gustafsson is fully convinced that Jon Jones is a cheater.

Earlier today (Thurs. December 27, 2018) Jones and Gustafsson participated in a UFC 232 pre-fight press conference. Of course, Jones’ recent drug test debacle has caused quite the stir, so it was a hot topic of conversation.

During the press conference, “The Mauler” was asked if he thinks Jones is an intentional cheater. Gustafsson doubled down and said he believes “Bones” is:

“Yes I do,” Gustafsson said. “Yes I do. This guy is not confident. He has to put sh*t in his body to be confident. That’s how it is.”

Jones was recently flagged for a banned substance ahead of his fight with Gustafsson. However, it turns out the small traces of the substance were from the same tainted supplement he was previously suspended for. Because of that, the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) didn’t license Jones to fight in Las Vegas, where the fight was initially scheduled to go down.

Now, the fight has been relocated to Inglewood, California at The Forum. UFC 232 goes down live on pay-per-view (PPV) from The Forum in Inglewood, California on Saturday, December 29, 2018.
