Former undisputed UFC strawweight champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk has announced her retirement from professional mixed martial arts tonight in Singapore following her second round spinning back-fist knockout loss to fellow former titleholder, Zhang Weili on the main card of UFC 275.
Osztyn native, Jedrzejczyk, started brightly in her highly-anticipated rematch against Weili — landing a series of punishing leg kicks, jabs, and some notable, heavy counters.
However, midway through the opening frame, the Pole was taken to the canvas by Weili courtesy of a takedown, with the Hebei native landing a series of elbows to steal the opening round.
Half way through the second round, however, during an exchange near the Octagon fence, and overzealous, Jedrzejczyk walked onto a spinning back-fist from Weili — sending her crashing to the canvas as she suffered the first KO loss of her professional mixed martial arts career.
Following the defeat to Weili, Jedrzejczyk confirmed her retirement from professional mixed martial arts during her post-fight interview with UFC color commentator, Daniel Cormier.

The UFC heads to Singapore for UFC 275: Teixeira vs. Prochazka tonight.
Emanating from the Singapore Indoor Stadium, UFC 275 is scheduled to be main evented by a light heavyweight showdown between current champion Glover Teixeira and the No. 2 ranked contender, Jiri Prochazka. Ahead of the event, the UFC has released the UFC 275 cold open to get you, even more, hyped up for today’s event.
With just two wins inside the Octagon, Prochazka will step into the main event for the biggest fight of his career against fan-favorite UFC mainstay Glover Texeira. At 42 years old and 10 years in the UFC, Teixeira climbed to the top of the mountain when he defeated former champion Jan Blachowicz at UFC 267 in October. Now he looks to keep his title when he meets a formidable opponent with serious speed and knockout power.
In the evening’s co-main event, Valentina ‘Bullet’ Shevchenko goes for her seventh straight title defense against flyweight powerhouse Taila Santos. Currently sitting at No. 4 in the UFC’s flyweight rankings, Santos earned four straight wins in the Octagon against notable fighters Molly McCann, Gillian Robertson, Roxanne Modafferi, and Joanne Wood to earn an opportunity to unseat the UFC’s most dominant reigning champion.
Zhang and J?drzejczyk Run Back One of The Greatest Fights of All Time at UFC 275
Also on tap for UFC 275 is the highly anticipated rematch of the greatest women’s fight of all time. In March 2020, Weili Zhang and Joanna J?drzejczyk engaged in a five-round war at UFC 248. More than two years later, the two will run it back, the winner earning an opportunity to face the new strawweight queen, Carla Esparza.
Rounding out the evening’s main card is two big welterweight bouts. Promoted to the main card after Rogerio Bontorin was forced to withdraw from his bout against Manel Kape, Australian Jake Matthews takes on knockout artist Andre Fialho.
Opening up the main card will and making his sophomore appearance in the Octagon is Jack Della Maddalena who hopes to keep his momentum going against Dagestani fighter Ramazan Emeev.

UFC Women’s Flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko will defend her title against Taila Santos in the co-main event. ‘Bullet’ has looked dominant as ever since winning the promotional gold making Santos the biggest underdog she has ever faced.
In a highly anticipated rematch, Joanna Jedrzejczyk will compete against Weili Zhang in the people’s main event of the night. Their first outing is considered to be arguably the greatest female contest of all time. Zhang outpointed Jedrzejczyk in a close-fought battle to grab a win by split decision.
