A middleweight division matchup between one-time welterweight title challenger, and #9 ranked contender, Darren Till, and the streaking #13 rated challenger, Dricus du Plessis, is currently targeted to take place at UFC 282 on December 10. from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

As per an initial report this Tuesday night from ESPN MMA reporter, Brett Okamoto, verbal agreements between Till and South African finisher, du Plessis are in place for the middleweight pair to share the Octagon at UFC 282.

Darren Till (@darrentill2) said he’d return before the end of the year, before a monster “comeback” in 2023,” Okamoto tweeted. “The return is in the works. Till vs. Dricus du Plessis (@dricusduplessis) is verbally agreed for UFC 282 on Dec. 10.”

In the midst of a two-fight losing skid, Liverpool native, Darren Till last featured in the main event of UFC Vegas 36 back in September of last year against Derek Brunson, suffering a thrid round rear-naked choke loss.

Darren Till is without a victory since November 2019

Till was scheduled to co-headline UFC London back in July, however, was ruled from a rescheduled bout against Jack Hermansson due to an undisclosed injury.

Prior to his loss against Brunson, Till dropped a unanimous judging loss against recent UFC Paris winner and former middleweight champion, Robert Whittaker. Till’s most recent professional win came in the form of a split decision triumph over Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 244 in November 2019.

17-2 as a professional, du Plessis, a former KSW middleweight champion, who holds a win over recent ONE Championship recruit, Roberto Soldic – has so far enjoyed an impressive run of three straight victories in his Octagon tenure.

Debuting with a first round knockout win over promotional alum, Markus Perez, du Plessis would then stop Trevin Giles with strikes, before comfortably defeating a bloodied, Brad Tavares at UFC 276 in July during International Fight Week.

Paddy Pimblett

With his rising popularity, Paddy Pimblett expects many more fighters to speak his name in an attempt to bolster their own budding careers inside the Octagon.

With a perfect 3-0 record under the UFC banner, all finishes, Paddy Pimblett is becoming one of the most talked about figures in mixed martial arts. In his most recent outing at UFC London, ‘The Baddy’ scored another highlight reel finish, submitting Jordan Leavitt in the second round after overcoming some early adversity in the first five minutes.

Two weeks removed from UFC London, Terrance McKinney put himself back into the win column with a first-round rear-naked choke submission of Erick Gonzalez at UFC Vegas 59. Following the spectacular win, ‘T-Wrecks’ called out Pimblet saying, “Paddy the Baddy, where you at?” ‘The Baddy’ had an opportunity to respond to the call out while backstage at Saturday’s UFC San Diego event.

“Everyone wants to fight me,” Pimblett said while speaking to the media at UFC San Diego. “He’s got less than 100,000 followers and I’m at 1.8 million or something. That’s why they want to fight me. But also, I’m not a very scary dude.

“I don’t look that intimidating. People think ‘I can beat him,’ but when you get in the cage with me and you’ve got to solve the puzzle, you can’t.”

Paddy Pimblett confirmed that McKinney and himself have crossed paths before and have acknowledged the two would likely compete inside the Octagon one day, but squaring off now may be premature.

“Me and Terrance have actually spoke,” said Pimblett. “In the past, we spoke on Twitter and we actually said we would probably fight in a few years down the line, when it’s a main event on a proper big card.

“But he’s obviously seen how I blew up and he wants to jump the queue and jump the bandwagon now. I don’t mind. I’ll fight anyone. We’ll see what happens over the coming weeks with a few lightweight results and we’ll see what happens.”

Despite Weighing 200 Pounds, Paddy Pimblett Expects to Fight in December

Paddy Pimblett’s work inside the Octagon has earned the Liverpudlian millions of fans around the world, but interestingly, his antics, specifically with food consumption, have earned him a significant amount of popularity. ‘The Baddy’ is known for going on epic food binges immediately following each outing. Often toting food with him at each post-fight press conference, Pimblet often tips the scales at “about 200 [pounds],” a whopping 44 pounds over the lightweight limit that he fights at.

Many fans within the MMA community have questioned how long the scouser can put that kind of strain on his body. Pimblett addressed this himself saying that eventually, it would have to come to an end, but for now, he is just enjoying himself.

“When I’m a bit older and once I start fighting ranked opponents, I will keep my weight down,” Pimblett said. “But for now, I enjoy putting a little bit of chub rub on.”

When discussing his potential return to the Octagon, Paddy Pimblett confirmed he won’t be joining his partner in crime Molly McCann when she steps back into the cage at Madison Square Garden for UFC 281, but plans to fight the following month at UFC 282 which is expected to take place in Las Vegas.

“I think I’m going to fight in Vegas,” Pimblett said. “That’s what I’m hoping. I’ve seen that card getting slated for Dec. 10.”

Jiri Prochazka

An undisputed UFC light heavyweight championship rematch between division champion, Jiri Prochazka, and former titleholder, Glover Teixeira – is currently targeted to feature at UFC 282 on December 10. – from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Initially meeting in the main event of UFC 275 in June of this year, Brazilian veteran, Teixeira dropped his undisputed light heavyweight title against Prochazka in Singapore – courtesy of a fifth round rear-naked choke submission

Linked with a slew of potential fights for his first attempted defense of the light heavyweight throne, Prochazka was initially floated in an all-European clash with former champion, Jan Blachowicz, however, according to Ariel Helwani during an episode of The Ringer MMA show with Chuck Mindelhall, and Peter Carroll, Prochazka x Texeira 2 is currently in the works for December.

Jiri Prochazka made a blistering start to his UFC run back in 2020

Blazing his way through competition en route to his premier light heavyweight title siege, former Rizin FF titleholder, Jiri Prochazka debuted on ‘Fight Island’ back in July 2020, defeating Volkan Oezdemir, before returning last year with a spectacular spinning-back elbow knockout over Dominick Reyes.

Clinching the light heavyweight championship last October in Abu Dhabi, UAE, Teixeira headlined against Poland native, the aforenoted, Blachowicz – stopping the titleholder with an upset second round rear-naked choke

Requiring a rallying finish in the fifth round of their potential Fight of the Year back in May, Prochazka entered the final frame in Kallang down on two judges scorecards, with the third judge scoring the fight a draw.

Taking Teixeira’s back during a final minute scramble, an exhausted Teixeira was forced to submit to a last gasp rear-naked choke from Jiri Prochazka – sans hooks to boot.

UFC 282 takes place on December 10. from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will come as the promotion’s final flagship pay-per-view event of 2022.
