Controversial Kick streamer N3on was banned from attending UFC 296 on Saturday night after he made threats aimed at former U.S. President Donald Trump

N3on, whose real name is Rangesh Mutama, purchased a ticket to attend the promotion’s final pay-per-view of the year, but before making his way to T-Mobile Arena, he posted a video on Instagram sharing his intention of confronting the embattled ex-president upon arrival.

One problem – Donald Trump and the Secret Service are going to be there,” he said. “So, here’s my plan, chat, you know, you can clip this and, you know, foreshadow it in the future. What’s going to happen is – I’m going to walk up, you know, I’m going to talk my sh*t to Trump, and then, it’s going to be a very good experience.

So, I’m going to talk my sh*t. I don’t care. I know the Secret Service is going to be there, I don’t give a f*ck. I’m going to talk sh*t. So, it’s all good. It’s going to be very good. Time is going to be very interesting. ‘Don’t say anything.’ I don’t think the Secret Service is about sh*t, so it’s going to be fine. We should be good.”

Obviously, it didn’t take long for the UFC to get wind of N3on’s intentions and promptly had the Indian American internet personality banned from the evening’s festivities.

Dana White Comments on N3ON’s Ban from UFC 296

Asked about the ban during the UFC 296 post-fight press event, CEO Dana White confirmed that N3on was not allowed to enter the building after making threats and “talking dumb sh*t.”

“He said he was banned from the arena? No,” White said. “What happened is, he said some stupid sh*t on Instagram and, you know… He bought tickets so he wasn’t anywhere close, but when you start saying stupid sh*t like that, yeah, you’re probably gonna get busted up and thrown out of here [by] making threats and talking dumb sh*t. Looking for clout.”

When a member of the media attempted to clarify what N3on originally said, White was quick to step in, making it clear that he didn’t care.

“I don’t care what he said,” White added. “Did he [confront Donald Trump]? F*ckin’ punk.”

Dricus Du Plessis Tells Sean Strickland ‘You Hit Like a Girl’ Following Impromptu Brawl at UFC 296

Sean Strickland didn’t want to wait until UFC 297 to get his hands on Dricus Du Plessis.

After engaging in a heated verbal confrontation at Friday’s Seasonal Press Conference, things came to a boiling point while the reigning middleweight world champion and his first challenger were on hand at T-Mobile Arena for UFC 296. Both fighters were shown on the big screen during a segment promoting their impending title tilt and everything appeared to be going to plan.

Moments later, chaos erupted as Sean Strickland calmly asked a family to move out of the way before leaping over a row of seats and laying into Du Plessis with a series of strikes before being separated by security.

Following the incident, Dricus Du Plessis took to social media and admonished Strickland’s attempt to get a head start on next month’s showdown.

“Now I understand why you have a 33% finish rate, you hit like a girl, also 20 January the security won’t be there to save your life when I’m on top,” he wrote on X.

Even Sean Strickland Has a Line He Refuses to Cross

Strickland also hit back at Du Plessis online, giving some insight into what may have been his motivation for the impromptu attack.

“I go hard on everyone I know this, izzy mouth feeding his dog, Dricus kissing his coach and grabbing his cup,” Strickland wrote. “Omally talking about sharing his wife in a podcast. You’re a man, on a world stage doing this in public And what do you pick? “You got abused as a kid ha.””

During their back-and-forth on Friday, ‘Stillknocks’ made a rather unsavory comment about Strickland’s history of growing up in an abusive home. Strickland later snapped back at Du Plessis online suggesting that using one’s past trauma as ammunition is something even he wouldn’t stoop to.

Clearly, there is a line that even Sean Strickland won’t cross. And as Dricus Du Plessis found out at UFC 296, there are consequences for doing so.

Colby Covington claims he Did enough to defeat Leon Edwards at UFC 296: ‘It was the easiest fight of my life’

Colby Covington

Despite coming up short in his third shot at UFC gold, Colby Covington has no intentions of giving up his dream of one day hoisting a world title over his head.

Stepping into the main event spotlight against reigning welterweight champion Leon Edwards at UFC 296, ‘Chaos’ was primed to break through against an opponent heavily marketed as the best possible matchup for him. It took one round for everyone to realize that was not the case.

Edwards did a brilliant job of shutting down Covington’s offense, putting the perennial contender on his bicycle and attacking the lead leg to prevent him from pulling off his signature takedowns. In fact, the only instance where Covington ended up on top during the fight came when ‘Rocky’ decided to engage in the grappling rather than breaking away once allowed to do so.

In the end, Edwards walked away with a decisive unanimous decision, earning a 49-46 score on all three cards.

Colby Covington Promises to ‘Come Back Stronger’

With yet another title opportunity come and gone, some expected (or hoped) Colby Covington would lay down his gloves for good. However, that was not the case. Instead, ‘Chaos’ made it clear that he was far from done pursuing gold.

“I will come back stronger. I’m 35 years young,” Covington told Joe Rogan during his post-fight interview. “I didn’t take any damage in this fight. It was the easiest fight of my life. I thought I won the fight. So it’s all perspective in this life. I will come back stronger. Mark my words.”

Colby Covington has now lost three of his last five fights. He has only two victories in the last four years and even those came against two fighters who have since retired from the sport.

Perhaps a move to middleweight is in Covington’s future. Maybe he’ll focus on cashing in on a few potential superfights before walking away. Either way, the one thing he should not be doing for the foreseeable future is getting anywhere near another UFC title opportunity.

Islam Makhachev reacts to Leon Edwards’ Victory over Colby Covington at UFC 296: ‘I will finish both this guy’

Islam Makhachev

Reigning UFC lightweight world champion Islam Makhachev was far from impressed with the performances of Leon Edwards and Colby Covington on Saturday night.

Covington stepped into the main event spotlight at UFC 296 for his third, and presumably final shot at championship gold against current welterweight king Leon ‘Rocky’ Edwards. Through five rounds, Edwards largely dominated the contest, stymying Covington’s offense along the way with his impeccable footwork and superior striking. Covington did run away with the fifth round via some lengthy top control, but even that was only made possible by Edwards’ insistence on grappling with the former All-American.

In the end, ‘Rocky’ walked away with a decisive 49-46 score on all three cards to retain his title.

Sharing his thoughts on the contest, Islam Makhachev took to social media and made it clear that should he ever make his way to 170, he could easily take out both Covington and Edwards in exchange for two-division glory.

“I will finish both this guy,” Makhachev wrote on X.

Islam Makhachev has his sights on a second world title

Since scoring his second-straight victory over featherweight titleholder Alexander Volkanovski in October, Islam Makhachev’s next move at lightweight is currently up in the air. Both Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje are circling potential title fights with the ‘Dagestani Destroyer,’ but if Makhachev gets his wish, a move to welterweight for a shot at a second world title may be in his future.

Makhachev vs. Edwards would certainly carry a significant level of intrigue for fight fans, but all signs point toward ‘Rocky’ putting his strap on the line against Belal Muhammad when he returns to the Octagon in 2024.

Are you interested in seeing Islam Makhachev venture to the land of the welterweights for a potential meeting with Leon Edwards, or does Khabib Nurmagomedov’s protege still have some work to do in his own division first?

Leon Edwards retains title in uneventual decision win over Colby Covington at UFC 296 Highlights

Successfully landing his second defense of the welter title tonight, undisputed gold holder, Leon Edwards remains the welterweight champion — turning in a one-sided unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 49-45) win over Colby Covington in the main event of UFC 296.

Turning in a dominant unanimous judging victory, Leon Edwards was met with very limited to little offense in the first, second, and third rounds from former interim champion, Covington.

Electing to test his grappling against arch-rival, Covington in the fourth and fifth championship rounds, almost wrapping up a triangle armbar until the former managed to wriggle his way out of the attempt.

Basking in his title glory following the culmination of UFC 296, Edwards claimed Covington was an admirable fighter, but dismissed him as a human being.

Sharing his thoughts on his fight with Edwards, Covington claimed he thought he actually won the decision, describing the bout as the easiest of his fighting career.

Targeting a return to the Octagon as soon as the opening quarter of next year, Covington chalked up his decision loss to ring-rust amid a period of almost two years away from active competition.

Paddy Pimblett’s foot is a mangled mess following his UFC 296 Victory over Tony Ferguson

Paddy Pimblett

Paddy Pimblett scored the biggest win of his mixed martial arts career at UFC 296, but he also left with his fair share of battle scars.

After suffering an ankle injury in his controversial win over Jared Gordon last December, ‘The Baddy’ returned for a clash with former interim lightweight world champion Tony Ferguson as part of the UFC’s final pay-per-view event of 2023.

Through three entertaining rounds, Pimblett dominated the action both on the feet and on the ground, handing ‘El Cucuy‘ his seventh straight loss inside the Octagon. Following the contest, Pimblett looked to be in relatively good spirits as he was sporting some standard-issue damage for a fistfight. However, the Liverpudlian later shared an image on social media of his surgically repaired ankle looking swollen like a balloon.

The injury is certainly a cause for concern after it took ‘The Paddy’ a full year to recover from the fracture he suffered at UFC 282.

The scouser earned some redemption for himself inside T-Mobile Arena, delivering a solid 15-minute performance against a fighter who is still undeniably dangerous despite a recent run of bad luck. With the victory, Pimblett moved to 5-0 inside the Octagon and is now riding a seven-fight win streak dating back to his days under the Cage Warriors banner.

Immediately following his seventh loss in a row, Tony Ferguson exited the Octagon without laying down his gloves or addressing his future in the sport. UFC 296 may very well have been the final time we see ‘El Cucuy’ step inside the Octagon, but it certainly doesn’t look that way.
