After he caused an unceremonious cancellation of his anticipated UFC 192 clash with fellow top welterweight Tyron Woodley, former UFC champion Johny Hendricks was told he was ‘now a middleweight’ by UFC President Dana White.

While that never came to be, Hendricks has essentially lost most of his contender status despite not having lost a fight since a narrow split decision to current champion Robbie Lawler at UFC 181 in late 2014.

All of that has lead ‘Bigg Rigg’ to have no other choice but to take his nutrition and diet plan, which formerly consisted of ballooning up to 215 pounds in between fights, much more seriously in order to stay where he has a real shot at the belt.

Hendricks used to do his own nutrition and use Mike Dolce, but for his main event bout against Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson at February 6’s UFC Fight Night 82 from Las Vegas, he’s enlisted the help of diet guru Loutrition run by Louis Giordano. And apparently it’s worked to positive results.

Hop to the next page to check out ‘Bigg Rigg’s’ current shape….

In what can’t help but be perceived as a response to the UFC’s partnership with Reebok, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone recently took to social media to gloat about the excellence that is Nike.

Cerrone, who was one of the first three fighters to be issued a fine for violating the UFC’s outfitting policy based around their deal with Reebok, posted a photo of himself wearing Nike training gear on his official Instagram account with a caption that reads, “Sure love the way my Nike shoes and shorts fit! So many different styles & color options! #NikeTraining.”

Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, who recently came up short in his attempt to win the UFC Lightweight title from Rafael dos Anjos, returns to the Octagon at UFC Fight Night 83 on February 21st at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as he takes on Tim Means in the main event of the evening.

As a result of the mess that is the originally planned UFC 196 pay-per-view on February 6th, Conor McGregor vs. Rafael Dos Anjos will now no longer be headlining the UFC 197 event scheduled for March.

UFC announced on Wednesday that due to the cancellation of the Cain Velasquez vs. Fabricio Werdum fight, and then the cancellation of the Werdum vs. Stipe Miocic replacement fight, the UFC 196 pay-per-view, which was originally announced as being headlined by Johny Hendricks vs. Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, will now be referred to as UFC Fight Night 82.

UFC 197, which was scheduled for March 5th, will now be called UFC 196, but will still be headlined by the aforementioned McGregor vs. Dos Anjos UFC Lightweight title fight.

How this affects future events, such as the landmark UFC 200 event scheduled for July 9th, remains to be seen. It’s worth noting that while the fights, dates and venues will remain as scheduled, the name of the events coming up in the next few weeks and months could be a disaster to try and follow.
