Justin Gaethje seeks to sit down and have an interesting meeting with UFC officials following the latest win of his MMA career inside of the Octagon.

The former WSOF champion is one of the most exciting fighters on the roster of the UFC. For years, fight fans around the world have wanted to see Gaethje compete inside of the Octagon.

Dustin Poirier picked up a TKO win in the fourth round over him in the main event of the UFC on FOX 29 show (April 14, 2018) that took place at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Following that fight, he set his sights set on the exit door following this loss. However, that has all changed.

As seen in the main event of UFC Lincoln at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, Gaethje was able to pick up the first-round KO win over James Vick. Following the fight, Gaethje revealed what’s next for him.

That is getting paid for the work he does in the octagon. Make no mistake about it though, he did clarify that he’s not necessarily unhappy with the UFC. But rather, he just wants his money up front instead of a show and fight structure when it comes to his payout.

“It should get me a business meeting with the UFC,” Gaethje told MMAjunkie. “The way I put it on the line, I need all my money up front. And that’s how it should work for people like me.”

“They should use me as an example,” he said backstage. “If you want all your money, you fight like Justin Gaethje. It’s going to be hard for him to look himself in the mirror tomorrow,” Gaethje said. “That was my plan. I want him to look at himself in the mirror tomorrow. He’s not going to.”

It wasn’t the most high-profile card, but last night’s (Sat., August 25, 2018) UFC Fight Night 135 from the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Neb., brought the heat. The main card alone featured four impressive finishes, and none was more exciting than Justin Gaethje’s knockout of James Vick (watch full highlights here) in the main event.

Both competitors talked a ton of trash heading into the fight. Vick was especially on the attack with his, calling Gaethje the “Homer Simpson” of MMA due to his tendency to take a ton of punches.

Last night (Sat. August 25, 2018) the UFC was in Lincoln, Nebraska for an awesome night of mixed martial arts (MMA).

On the FS2 preliminary card, an amazing fight went down at bantamweight between Cory Sandhagen and Iuri Alcantara. The pair put on an exciting spectacle, however, it was Sandhagen who emerged victorious.

He finished Alcantara via TKO in the second round. For their stand-out performances, they have been awarded Fight Of The Night and a $50,000 bonus each.

Kicking off the main card (literally) was Eryk Anders vs. Tim Williams. The pair actually went into the third round with one another. Anders, however, landed a hellacious head kick that put Williams to sleep for the knockout win. As a result, he has been awarded Performance Of The Night and a $50,000 bonus.

And finally, in the main event of the evening, Justin Gaethje absolutely starched James Vick. The two top-ranked lightweights had been bickering back-and-forth for weeks now.

When it was all said and done, Gaethje landed a huge overhand in just over a minute for the first round knockout win. The former World Series Of Fighting (WSOF) lightweight champ won yet another Performance Of The Night award, and an extra $50,000.
