Next up on the main card of UFC Moscow is a welterweight bout between Zelim Imadaev and Danny Roberts.

Round 1:

Head kick is just blocked from Imadaev to start the action. Imadaev overextends on a shot and Roberts goes for a takedown, but it’s nicely defended. The pair exchange shots in the clinch against the cage. Some nice knees from Roberts inside the clinch. Imadaev responds with one to the body, but eats hooks from Roberts. Roberts lands a nice combination off an Imadaev kick.

Now Imadaev presses forward after Roberts looked to lose his footing. Roberts gets a takedown on Imadaev during a combination, but Imadaev gets back to his feet. Roberts with another nicely timed takedown, but Imadaev ends up on top after a scramble to end the round.

Round 2:

Imadaev connects on some nice shots and Roberts shoots in in response. But Imadaev ends up on top again, right into half guard. Roberts gets to his feet and circles out. Roberts lands a flush left hand down the pipe. Imadaev responds with a nice kick to the body, gets a nice combination going, but Roberts shoots in on the single leg again.

Roberts gets the back clinch and drags Imadaev down, only for him to shoot right back up. Imadaev with the takedown now, but Roberts is to his feet. Both men swing wildly, and Roberts lands a crazy overhand that drops Imadaev to a faceplant. That’s it.

Round 1: Martin is pumped up and super aggressive to start the fight. Emeev is countering well though. Martin lands a nice one-two. Martin is doing a lot of trash talking. He drops Emeev with a leg kick. Emeev attempts a takedown but Martin counters with a kimura lock. Emeev is doing a good job locking his hands and gets out of it. The fight is stopped after an accidental groin shot on Martin. Emeev attempts a takedown but it’s stuffed. They clinch up as the round comes to an end.

Round 2: Lots of jabbing by both fighters. Emeev misses a wild overhand right and Martin responds with a hard leg kick. Emeev’s left calf seems to be swelling up. Emeev attempts another takedown and Martin counters with a guillotine attempt. However, Emeev gets out and has Martin against the cage. They separate. Emeev tries another takedown attempt but it’s stuffed. Emeev lands heavy on Martin which draws a reaction from the crowd. They’re striking a bit more now. Martin’s nose is bloodied up. The round ends on the ground after Martin takes Emeev down and attempts a submission.

Round 3: Martin lands another leg kick. Emeev sees another takedown stuffed. Emeev lands a nice punch on Martin but it’s mostly a lot of stalling in the third. They clinch but separate. Martin lands another leg kick. Martin continues with the trash talk. Emeev attempts another takedown but receives an uppercut from Martin who then lands yet another leg kick. Emeev attempts another takedown but it’s stuffed and he receives a leg kick soon after. Emeev is more aggressive with 20 seconds left but Martin welcomes it as he taunts Emeev to end the fight.

Official result: Anthony Rocco Martin defeats Ramazan Emeev via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).

Opening up the UFC Moscow main card is a light heavyweight bout between Shamil Gamzatov and Klidson Abreu.

Round 1: Abreu is the one advancing more. Both fighters start with body kicks. Abreu tries a flying knee but misses. Gamzatov responds with a straight right. Abreu blocks a head kick and sees his own head kick blocked soon after. Abreu has been checking a number of leg kicks. Not a lot of significant action in the first round but probably one that goes to Abreu.

Round 2: Gamzatov goes for a teep kick. They seem to swinging more but no strike so far that has hurt the other. Abreu lands a significant right. He lands a nice combo which ends with a leg kick. However, it’s Gamzatov with more kicks landed. Gamzatov is pressuring more but the action goes back to the center of the Octagon. They clinch up before Abreu trips him and is now on top. Gamzatov gets up by pushing his legs off Abreu’s hips and the round ends.

Round 3: Abreu is a bit slower coming into this round. Lots of feinting and blocked leg kicks in the third stanza. Gamzatov lands a nice right and is advancing more as Abreu is on his bike. He lands another shot that gets the crowd’s reaction. Gamzatov is clearly more confident and active now. Gamzatov attempts a spinning back kick but has his back taken by Abreu and they eventually clinch up. Gamzatov reverses and attempts a takedown but eventually gives up as they separate. Abreu attempts a takedown but it’s stuffed. The fight ends.

Official result: Shamil Gamzatov defeats Klidson Abreu via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28).
