Paddy Pimblett had a few choice words for Ariel Helwani, accusing Helwani of earning off the fighters and being a “biased content creator”.

British star Paddy Pimblett burst onto the UFC scene in 2021 and has delivered a handful of exciting performances, but more so, a ton of unfiltered thoughts and opinions. The latter playing as big of a part in Pimblett’s popularity as his winning ways inside the octagon. Pimblett hasn’t minced his words regarding his opponents and more recently, had a lot to say about the famed MMA journalist, Ariel Helwani

Paddy accused Helwani of many things in his interview with Dana White, including that Helwani earns his money off of the fighters, but does nothing to help them financially.

“Start paying people for these interviews that you make thousands, and thousands, and thousands from. And I know that now because I make money off of YouTube. So, I know how much he earns off YouTube of all his interviews while he says “you’re doing it for exposure” no you’re not. You’re doing it to put money in your pocket Ariel, you little rodent.”

Paddy Pimblett says Ariel Helwani is no longer a journalist and is simply a biased content creator

Paddy Pimblett had a lot more to say about Helwani and went as far as to question Helwani’s journalistic integrity as he called him out for being biased and even holding grudges against fighters.

“I hate all these journalists, especially the ones what earn off us. Ariel Helwani, in particular, loves earning money off fighters. Every decent job he’s had, he’s been sacked from. And now he’s just a biased content creator. He hates on you, hates on the UFC, and he even hates on me now. It proper annoys me.”

Pimblett even accused Helwani of being a hypocrite as Helwani has been very outspoken on the way UFC treats their employees and yet, Helwani has never offered a paid interview for the fighter’s time and effort.

“He uses fighters for clicks, uses fighters to make money, and then has the audacity to talk about the UFC and yourself, saying that they don’t pay the fighters enough. Get your dough out, Ariel.”

This only seems like the beginning of what could be an ugly back-and-forth between Helwani and Paddy Pimblett as Helwani has fired back at his critics in recent times.

Sean Strickland

UFC middleweight Sean Strickland recently spoke with Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie in an interview and discussed the James Krause gambling scandal.

Due to abnormalities surrounding James Krause’s fighters on gambling lines, the UFC has cut all ties to Krause’s gym and athletes. Krause is currently under investigation by multiple authorities.

Sean Strickland laid out his thoughts in plan language; if Krause guilty then he should be gone. Strickland explained:

“I don’t know what the f*ck happened with Krause, I don’t even f*ckin’ know Krause. But, if there is any fight throwing bullsh*t; fuck Krause. The guy should never be back allowed in the UFC and they should close down his gym.”

However, if there is no wrong doing, then let the man be free. Strickland continued:

“Now, if it’s all bullsh*t and it’s just some guys being assh*les, then, you know, move on, let the guy have a life. But if what they’re saying is true, if he was throwing fights and changing fights then give that guy the boot, he don’t belong here.”

The US-born Strickland is coming off a knockout loss to now-champion Alex Pereira. On December 18, Strickland will be fighting UFC middleweight Jared Cannonier in a UFC Fight Night Main event.

Matt Brown agrees with Sean Strickland

Veteran UFC athlete Matt Brown agrees with the assessment from Sean Strickland. In an interview with SB Nation’s The Fighter vs. The Writer, Matt Brown explained:

“Sounds like he went to the well one too many times on this one though, right? He reached a little too far, overstepped his boundaries and now he’s looking like Pete Rose out here. Long story short, James Krause is f****d. Everything he’s worked for is going down the drain from this. I’ve never seen anything like this.” [H/T MMAFighting]

Matt Brown is still an active MMA fighter but currently has no fight scheduled.
