Nick Diaz

Nick Diaz is officially set to end his six-year hiatus from MMA.

The former Strikeforce welterweight champion will face off against Robbie Lawler in a rematch 17 years in the making.

For anyone who doesn’t remember, Diaz and Lawler first squared off at UFC 47 in April 2004. The Stockton California native famously picked up a one-punch knockout win after two rounds of war.

Dana White revealed on Wednesday that Diaz and Lawler will rematch at UFC 266 on September 25. The fight will be only the second non-title, non-main event fight in UFC history to be set for five rounds. Nate Diaz was involved in the first when he went toe-to-toe with Leon Edwards at UFC 263 last month.

Join LowKickMMA as we preview, predict, and hopefully win some money betting on the Diaz vs. Lawler II. If you will be putting some money on this fight or any upcoming fight be sure to always check for the best MMA and boxing betting sites.

The Underdog

Nick Diaz is understandably the underdog ahead of his MMA comeback at UFC 266. The oddsmakers have him at +110 to return with a win in September.

The 37-year-old has been out of action for several years and for the large majority of that time he’s been living his best life in Las Vegas.

Even before his hiatus from the sport Diaz wasn’t at the peak of his powers.

Diaz is currently riding a three-fight losing streak. He was last seen in action against Anderson Silva at middleweight in 2015. Diaz suffered a unanimous decision defeat in that fight, but the result was later overturned due to a positive drug test from ‘The Spider’.

Prior to that, he lost against Georges St-Pierre and Carlos Condit in back-to-back fights. The fan favourite has not recorded a win since beating MMA legend, BJ Penn, at UFC 137 in 2011.

The Favourite

Lawler is backed by the bookmakers to emerge victorious against Diaz at UFC 266. If you fancy a bet on ‘Ruthless’, you’ll find him priced at -138 to get the win.

The former UFC welterweight champion is amid a run of poor form.

Lawler has lost four fights in a row and looks somewhat gun shy. The 39-year-old has fallen to consecutive losses against Colby Covington, Rafael dos Anjos, Ben Askren, and Neil Magny. He last recorded a win inside the Octagon against Donald Cerrone at UFC 214 in 2017.

Our Prediction

Before we give our early prediction on Diaz vs. Lawler II, we just want to note that this is the perfect fight for both men.

The former champs are clearly on the downslide but still very capable of entertaining crowds if they are given the right fights – props to the UFC matchmakers for this one.

Ultimately, we will be betting on Lawler to emerge victorious as UFC 266.

The simple fact is he’s been active. We understand he hasn’t looked good but he’s been in the gym training for MMA fights and competing against the best in the world.

It’s just unfathomable that Diaz can take so much time off and come back and look anywhere near his best.

We expect a tentative start from both men before Lawler begins to find his range and get the better of the stand-up exchanges.

Both men are tough and will come in in great shape, so we expect this fight to go the full 25 minutes before ‘Ruthless’ gets his hand raised, snaps that four-fight skid, and avenges one of his most famous defeats.

Who do you think will win at UFC 266? Nick Diaz or Robbie Lawler?

UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou appears in Jackass Forever and will be featured in a very violent scene.

Francis Ngannou captured UFC gold last March when he stopped a former foe in two-time heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic in the second round. After landing a role in the long-awaited film Jackass Forever, the newly minted heavyweight champion will be shown looking to earn gold in a different area of expertise in the film.

Ahead of its release, Ngannou helped lead viewers through an extended preview of what is being called the “cup test scene,” where Ngannou hits a man (Ehren McGhehey) in the groin at full strength. McGhehey was wearing a cup, but did it make a difference?

While having a Ford Escort crash into your privates will always leave a mark—if not physically then emotionally—apparently, the cup test was a success. So much so that Ngannou was left wondering, “Did he really have a nut?” when all was said and done.

You can check out the graphic scene’s extended preview along with Ngannou’s commentary below.

This isn’t the first time we have seen Francis Ngannou in Hollywood. In fact, the heavyweight champ popped up in a cameo appearance for Fast & Furious 9.

After Ngannou retained the UFC heavyweight championship at UFC 270 last weekend, many people began to wonder what the future holds for the Cameroonian as he remains in a tense contract dispute with the UFC. But whatever the future holds, at least the heavyweight champion now has Hollywood in his back pocket.

Jackass Forever hits theaters nationwide today, Friday, February 4, 2022.

Will you be watching Francis Ngannou in Jackass Forever this weekend?

Implementing a largely kick-heavy tactical approach during his UFC 264 headliner with Dustin Poirier, footage has emerged of former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor practising a left high kick toward the head of a security guard in the Octagon ahead of Poirier’s Octagon-walk last Saturday night.

Taking main event honours at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada — Crumlin striker, McGregor started brightly — utilising some notable thigh kicks to Poirier’s right-hand side, as well as attempting to off-set a rhythm with spinning back kick attempts to the body.

Switching from southpaw back to conventional on occasion, McGregor was clipped on entry from Poirier with a well-placed right hand before a left uppercut landed from the Lafayette native, drawing a clinch attempt from the Dubliner.

Attempting to defend a takedown from Poirier at the fence, McGregor angled off and tried to set up a guillotine before pulling guard as Poirier eventually elevated his body, passed guard and escaped. After some time spent on the bottom, McGregor was allowed back to his feet after Poirier protested that he had been interlocking his fingers into his gloves and pulling him down into up kick attempts.

Appearing to suffer an initial leg injury off what now appears to be a leg kick to Poirier’s right thigh — McGregor then attempted to land a front kick to Poirier’s body, and it appears his left leg attack collided with a shelling Poirier’s right elbow.

With both men looking to exchange left-hand shots at the fence at the end of the round, McGregor stepped back onto his left leg, which then suddenly collapsed underneath his weight before the close of the frame. Upon inspection from referee, Herb Dean and the Octagon-side doctor, it was confirmed McGregor had suffered a fight-ending leg injury.

However, footage prior to the beginning of the trilogy rubber match has surfaced, which shows Poirier entering the inspection zone ahead of his scaling up the Octagon steps — all while McGregor bounces from foot to foot in the Octagon in front of a security guard, before practising a left high kick — mere inches away from the officials face, who remained flinch-less throughout. After pulling the kick, McGregor spins and points at the security guard.

Following a three-hour surgical procedure to address fractures to his left tibia and fibula, McGregor tweeted and deleted numerous threatening messages aimed at Poirier and his family in the early hours of Tuesday morning — following a heated back-and-forth exchange between the two in the Octagon following the UFC 264 headliner, in which McGregor made gun gestures toward his own head before remarking in you’re sleep, you’re getting it” — while motioning toward Dustin and Jolie Poirier

Jake Paul: ‘Evil’ Conor McGregor Got What He Deserved

Unsurprisingly, Jake Paul has no sympathy for Conor McGregor who broke his tibia and fibula at UFC 264 this past weekend.

The Irishman was looking to avenge his defeat to Dustin Poirier when his leg appeared to snap at the end of round one.

Despite being in terrible pain, McGregor continued to trash talk Poirier and his wife as he lay on the floor.

Both men and Dana White have since confirmed a fourth fight will take place once ‘Notorious’ is healed up.

Paul, who has consistently called out McGregor over the last year, attended a press conference for his upcoming fight with Tyron Woodley yesterday and was asked his opinion on the events of UFC 264.

“He’s a piece of sh*t,” Paul told TMZ Sports. “He’s sitting there on the ground after losing, talking sh*t to Dustin Poirier’s wife. I don’t feel bad at all. I think he’s an evil man, and he had what was coming for him.”

Paul had been trolling McGregor throughout fight week and even dropped $100,000 on a necklace that depicts the former dual-weight champion following his knockout loss at UFC 257.

The YouTuber has offered to send the chain to Poirier who is expected to auction it off to help raise funds for his charity – The Good Fight Foundation.

“I think he (Poirier) deserves it. I think it’s hilarious,” Paul said. “I hope he takes a picture with it and posts it on Instagram. I just love to see McGregor plummet. He was a meteoric star that’s now just taking a nosedive. Before I wanted to fight him and I offered him $50 million, now my offer is $23.”

“I tried to snap off the ankle on it. After the fight I took a rock and tried to smash it. It wouldn’t break, honestly,” Paul added. “The chain is more solid than McGregor.”

Do you agree with Jake Paul? Did karma get Conor McGregor at UFC 264?
