UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has called for people to remain strong amid the current global situation.

The coronavirus pandemic has halted life as we know it throughout the world with many confined to their homes in a bid to maintain social distancing and prevent the spread of the virus.

While some can work from home or are being paid their salaries, others have been laid off or have no certainties about the future. Overall, it is a challenging time for everyone and “The Last Stylebender” offered an encouraging message to those who may be struggling at the moment:

“I’ll keep this short and sweet,” Adesanya said (via MMA Junkie). “This next four weeks is going to make and break some people. Some people are going to come out of this with drinking problems, drug problems, domestics, broken families. Or some people are going to come out of this with better relationships, severing all beef with family members and friends, cooking skills, better brains, healthier bodies, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

“I’m not your (expletive) guru. I’m not nobody but the UFC champion. People carry some weight. Sometimes what I say makes the news. Stay strong because only the strong can survive this (expletive).”

You can watch the video below:

As things stand, there are over 450,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus worldwide with 20,500+ deaths.

Darren Till and Israel Adesanya continue to slide into each other’s Instagram DMs.

With both fighters now in the same division, they have begun interacting more with Till first sliding in to the UFC middleweight champion’s DMs on Christmas. Adesanya returned the favor last month ahead of UFC 248 when he sent a video message to Till.

The latest instance was a week ago when Adesanya shared a video message from Till jokingly warning him that he was coming for him and his title.

For now, Adesanya is expected to defend his middleweight title against Paulo Costa. Till, meanwhile, is scheduled to face Robert Whittaker at UFC Dublin on August 15 later this year.

Should both fighters win their respective matchups, we could finally be in store for an Adesanya vs. Till title fight.

It’s a contest the Liverpool native has long believed is destined to happen:

“Yeah, it’s gotta happen,” Till said after his win over Kelvin Gastelum back at UFC 244 in November. “I said in the press conference about Israel, mate, people got to stop doubting these type of people. Israel is unbeaten, so there ain’t no blueprint out there to beat him yet. So all these people need to stop saying that sh*t. Me and Israel need to fight.

“I need to provide this blueprint. It’s not about the belt, it’s about the destiny. Because he knows, he’ll come in the studio and tell you, me and him are meant to fight at some point. And you know, we’ll see, we’ll f*cking see after I get off these crutches first. But we’re meant to fight.”

Now healthy and confident at middleweight, “The Gorilla” likes his chances against “The Last Stylebender” as well.

Do you think we’ll see Adesanya vs. Till in the future? Who do you have winning?

If you’re bored at home during this quarantine period, why not sit back and rewatch how Conor McGregor announced himself in the UFC?

McGregor is undeniably the biggest star in combat sports today, let alone the UFC. The former two-weight champion’s pay-per-view headliners have grossed the highest numbers in the sport while his recent return at UFC 246 in January made it the first streaming event on ESPN+ to cross over a million streams.

A big reason for that is the Irishman’s larger-than-life personality and his notable predictions of how his fights will go. But more than anything, it’s his fighting style which more or less, always delivers knockouts.

That was more than evident in his highly-anticipated UFC debut back in 2013 when he faced Marcus Brimage in a featherweight bout.

As they say, the rest is history.

Conor McGregor continues to do his part for the nation of Ireland amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The former two-weight UFC champion has been calling for Irish citizens to remain quarantined and follow all the social distancing guidelines that have been suggested. Most recently, he posted a video urging the Irish government to go into a “true lockdown” to combat the virus.

Irish politician Paschal Donohoe saw the video and reached out to McGregor thanking him for his message while at the same time stating that more must be done to encourage social distancing.

McGregor shared the DMs on Twitter in which he announced he would be purchasing over $1 million worth of personal protective equipment to be deployed to hospitals in the Leinster province.

“Today I am purchasing myself, 1 million euro worth of personal protective equipment to be deployed to all the fighting hospitals in the Leinster region,” McGregor wrote. “Our most affected region, to this date.

“St. James. Mater, Tallaght, Beaumont. Vincent’s. Where we would be without these brave men and women? I do not know. May God bless over them and keep them safe!”

“The Notorious” also added that he felt the government should be doing more to enforce rules and keep the people safe.

“We need more units on the street to enforce this lockdown Pascal! It has been too lax! Building sites should be closed,” he added. “They are open for what? We can always build again after this. In every way. But, we must put Health before Wealth. I respect you, and your team and I believe you are doing as good a job as you possibly can. I have been impressed by all. As has the nation. I feel like we are moving in the right way, it just feels to me like it is not all the way.

“I urge all the way! ‘All in’ is the term we must use here. Bit by bit will cost us lives. To see what is happening here in Ireland and all across the entire globe, is heartbreaking to me. I pray. God speed Minister and thank you for the message, and your service to our nation.”

As of Tuesday, there are over 1,300 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Republic of Ireland.
