From her viewpoint, fighting Ronda Rousey is not going to make or break the career of Cris “Cyborg” Justino.

The Brazilian, who faces Lina Lansberg Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 95 in the main event on FOX Sports 1, told “UFC Tonight” Wednesday that any potential fight with Rousey is for “the fans.”

“Before when she was the champion she said she wanted to fight me. She said come to 135. Maybe we can fight at 140,” Cyborg said. “You can’t be selfish. This fight is not for me and her, it’s for all the fans. All the fans are waiting for her.”

Currently, the UFC does not have a featherweight division, which Cyborg holds a title in for Invicta FC. The idea of being UFC champion excites her, but it isn’t the main priority.

“For me, the belt is important, but it’s more nice making super fights for all fans to watch,” she said.

Roy Nelson has been outspoken about the use of illegal drugs in MMA for a long time.

“Big Country,” who returns to action this Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 95 vs. Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, believes there are things that the USADA is doing right.

But he also feels there is more than could be doing.

“You just have to get rid of the excess at the top,” he said during an appearance on UFC Tonight Wednesday. “Then I’d pay the fighters the extra money, and just call people up and tell them who to test. It’s not that hard.”

Regardless of all that, Nelson believes he can still compete with the best heavyweights in the world and plans to showcase that vs. Silva.

“The challenges he offers are everything,” he said. He’s a complete mixed martial artist. He’s beat the best. He’s knocked out (Alistair) Overeem. He beat Fedor (Emelianenko). It’s heavyweight. You can win some and lose some, but you’ve got to watch.”

Underdog Role Fits UFC Champion Tyron Woodley Just Fine

From a betting perspective, Tyron Woodley enters his first title defense as an underdog.

And the reigning UFC welterweight champion is fine with that.

Woodley is expected to face Stephen Thompson in November at UFC 205 from Madison Square Garden. He won the belt with a first round knockout over Robbie Lawler earlier this year.

“It came from knowing you’ve done everything to prepare and left no stone unturned, understanding your opponent and yourself,” he said, during an appearance on UFC Tonight. “I felt like it was my time. Robbie was fighter of the year for a reason. He’s a friend of mine, a guy I respect. But I felt there was no way I was going to walk out without it.”

Woodley told Thompson after the win over Lawler that he wanted to face either Nick Diaz or Georges St-Pierre first. That, though, was not the champion turning Thompson down at all.

“We’re fighting at Madison Square Garden, I promise that,” he said. “I never said I wasn’t fighting him and I never turned it down. The first time I was offered that fight, I accepted it.”

It appears that the pressure is on Cris “Cyborg” Justino – and we haven’t even come to Saturday night yet.

The reigning Invicta FC featherweight champion agreed to compete at 140 pounds vs. Lina Lansberg at UFC Fight Night 95. While she remains several pounds away from hitting that mark – and still has until Friday to do so – several people have sounded off about it.

Brian Stann, who works commentary for UFC events on FOX Sports 1, stated his thoughts on it and Cyborg responded, claiming that she cannot even come in at 141 pounds without risk of losing part of her fight purse and the chance to claim a “fight night” bonus.

As you can see in the weigh-in video from UFC 198 earlier this year, the cut was a difficult one for Cyborg. She appears very drawn out and almost exhausted while weighing in for her fight with Leslie Smith.

Conor McGregor Fuels UFC 205 Main Event Speculation: “Beg Me”

Despite tweets from Dana White and Khabib Nurmagomedov that indicate an Eddie Alvarez vs. Nurmagomedov UFC Lightweight Title fight as the main event of UFC 205, it appears that nothing is official yet regarding the main event for the promotion’s first event in the state of New York in November.

Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com is reporting that as of Wednesday morning, no fight had been signed to headline the UFC 205 PPV card, despite tweets from the UFC President and Russian lightweight contender on Tuesday evening, and an additional tweet from Khabib on Wednesday thanking the UFC for a “gift.”

Fueling speculation that Conor McGregor could be in the running for the headline spot at the first-ever UFC event at Madison Square Garden was a tweet posted by “The Notorious” one on Wednesday afternoon.

Much like the recent negotiations for UFC 200, and later UFC 202, it appears as though the Irish mega-star is using his heavily populated public platform to negotiate his way into a highly sought after PPV main event slot.

On his official Twitter page on Wednesday, the reigning UFC Featherweight Champion simply wrote, “Beg me.”

UFC 205 takes place on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from the world-famous Madison Square Garden arena in New York City.
