UFC has signed women’s flyweight prospect Poliana Botelho, a fighter out of the Nova Uniao gym in Brazil.
“Today I’m climbing another step in my career to achieve my biggest goal,” Botelho posted on her Facebook page this week. “I have no word to describe my happiness in becoming a UFC athlete.”
Botelho, 27, is a 5-1 fighter with all five of her wins coming by way of knockout. Last September, she knocked out Silvana Gomez to become the new XFC International Flyweight Champion.

It looks like Paige VanZant won’t be part of the upcoming landmark UFC 200 event after all.
Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com broke the news on Tuesday that VanZant, who had originally hoped to fight on the July 9th event, will no longer be part of the plans for the show.
VanZant’s manager Mike Roberts told MMA Fighting that due to the amount of time her work on “Dancing With The Stars” is taking, she will not be able to properly prepare for a fight on 7/9.
“After thinking about it, the show is taking up a lot of her time,” Roberts said. “She wants to have time to improve and get better, so we decided to postpone her return to about late-August.”
UFC Women’s Strawweight contender Paige VanZant, who is one of the favorites to win this season of “Dancing With The Stars,” last fought inside the Octagon in December, where she was dominated by former TUF finalist Rose Namajunas.

Following Conor McGregor’s random social media rant on Monday, his current rival, Nate Diaz, has chimed in with a very simple response.
On Monday, McGregor commented on a photo of Diaz that showed the younger brother looking quite large for a 145-pound champion to be fighting. McGregor, in typical fashion, wasn’t impressed.
In fact, he went on to claim that he would “school” Diaz in a rematch and spoke about how he “swept and controlled” him on the ground at UFC 196.
Diaz, also in typical fashion, posted the following brief response:
McGregor-Diaz II was originally scheduled to headline UFC 200 in an immediate 170-pound rematch of their UFC 196 fight, which Diaz won via submission. The fight was pulled, however, when McGregor refused to take part in his promotional commitments around the fight and Diaz refused to fight anyone else on the show.
Headlined by Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier II, UFC 200 is scheduled for Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
