Where you at Nick? No not Nick The Bitch Diaz, I’m talking the Stockton Bad Boy that I hate. What is this shit? I like this new Nick Diaz! Dana White said that the old Nick Diaz is supposed to be coming back, apparently he was on his best behavior recently.

We’re a week away from UFC 158, and we have yet to hear Nick curse out GSP. This is making me think that GSP might be in Nick’s head. Is Diaz already defeated? Here’s another theory, maybe Diaz has just been stoned out of his mind through this entire process. I guess we’ll find out after this fight. Regardless, we all know the outcome of this fight, GSP is going to win; most likely by decision.

I was just hoping that this fight would get hyped a little bit more. It’s kind of sad when Johnny Hendricks, who isn’t even fighting GSP, is taking more shots at the champ than his opponent. Regardless, this is going to be a stacked card and the UFC is going to make bank on it. GSP is the UFC’s biggest pay-per-view draw, and regardless of whether Diaz sells this fight or not the Bell Centre will be sold out and the card will pull huge numbers.

Anderson Silva is a Priss

So if you guys watch the mmafix.com podcasts, you guys know that I like to rant. I’m not going to toot my own horn; some of my rants are fucking awesome. This is going to.

Anderson-Silva-ii

So if you guys watch the mmafix.com podcasts, you guys know that I like to rant. I’m not going to toot my own horn; some of my rants are fucking awesome. This is going to be another one.

Anderson Mother Fucking Silva. You don’t get to pick the fights, Joe Silva does! Dana White has been telling us for weeks now that it’s a process to get Anderson interested in a fight. Finally, that process is done. Chris Weidman is finally scheduled to face Anderson Silva on July 6th. I get that Anderson is 38, and he’s probably on the tail end of his career; but when you’re the champion you fight all comers.

Weidman is fucking 9-0 and 5-0 in the UFC; he’s coming off a vicious knock out of Mark Munoz. In a division like the Middleweights I think that is more than justifying for a title shot. Apparently Anderson Silva doesn’t think so. The UFC has been throwing, and I mean throwing handfuls of money at Silva just to get him to take this fight. I’m not saying Silva is scared, he’s probably going to win this fight; but you can’t hold up the entire division because you don’t like the fight they offered.

I hope Chris Weidman beats Silva, I really do. That would mean he can either go up to 205 and fight Jones, or retire. Weidman has the skills, he’s stronger than Sonnen, his boxing probably isn’t as good, and his BJJ is solid. Not to mention that Weidman is a fucking massive 185lber. I’m not saying Weidman can’t hold Anderson down for five rounds; he has the power to finish the champ. I just don’t think it will happen.

Let’s face it, Anderson is going to finish Weidman in spectacular fashion, I kind of think it’ll be a knee when Weidman takes a shot. Silva won’t learn his lesson, he’s going to continue to fight once a year, and he’s going to continue to be a priss. Anderson Silva, you are a fantastic fighter, but I hate your attitude, and I fucking hate Ed Soares.

That is all, class dismissed.

What’s Next for Mark Hunt?

Did I call it, or did I call it? Hunt knocks out Skyscraper in the third round, and best of all he didn’t look half bad doing it. Sure they both looked a little sloppy,.

Did I call it, or did I call it? Hunt knocks out Skyscraper in the third round, and best of all he didn’t look half bad doing it. Sure they both looked a little sloppy, but Hunt is coming off almost a year layoff. What was surprising, was that throw he had on Struve, not to mention the fact that he passed the Skyscrapers guard on multiple occasions. So with this win, we’re left with the question, what’s next for the Super Samoan Mark Hunt? These are some of my ideas.

The winner of JDS vs Overeem:  This fight is interesting as it is; whoever wins should be a great test for Mark Hunt. Unfortunately I think JDS is going to win, not that JDS vs Hunt won’t be a great fight, but I think a rematch between two K1 Champions would be amazing. If Overeem somehow wins, then this would be a rematch of an old Pride bout, not to mention there is a little bad blood between the two fighters.

Loser of Velasquez vs Silva:  This is a little bit of a longshot seeing that Mark Hunt and Big Foot are training together at ATT. If Silva wins, a match between Cain and Hunt could be interesting; it will really show us if Hunt has worked his defensive wrestling, and it could show us how good Cain’s striking really is. Not to mention the fact that Hunt will probably be ranked around number eight after his win, I don’t think they will give him someone who just fought for the title.

Big Nog:  I know, I know, he’s fighting Werdum. If Mark Hunt is okay with waiting a little bit I think this would be a phenomenal fight. This is a fight that should have happened back in Pride, who knows maybe they could do the fight at the Saitama Super Arena too. I think having Hunt ready as an injury replacement for either Nog or Werdum would be a smart plan, seeing how Hunt dismantled Struve who has a good BJJ game, it would be interesting to see him against a high level black belt; which both these men possess.

Shane Carwin:  I’m not exactly sure the time frame for Carwin’s return, but this would be sure to be an exciting bout. Both men have granite chins; see Carwin vs JDS or any of Hunt’s K1 fights. I think Shane would probably stand and trade with Hunt, but I’m not sure if that would smart for him. Both men are known to gas a little, so I wouldn’t expect this to go past the second round, especially if this is a five round main event. Win or lose this would be an entertaining fight for the fans.

Let me know what you guys think in the comment section!

Seven first round wins all by the same method. No one in UFC history, probably MMA history, has ever accomplished this. Liz Carmouche put up one hell of a fight, but in the end, she faced the same fate as the rest of Rousey’s opponents.

There was a bit of a slugfest early in the fight, with neither really getting the best of the strikes. When they two came together, Rousey immediately looked for a takedown. Quickly getting the fight to the ground, she took side control, but Carmouche rolled out and mounted the champ for a brief moment before more scrambling occurred. This time, the Rousey found her opponent on her back seeking the rear naked. Carmouche couldn’t get under the chin of the champ, so instead went for a neck crank that had everyone watching on the edge of their seats.

In a nail biting struggle, Rousey eventually shrugged of the submission attempt, got the fight back to the canvas, and worked to side control again. The former Marine gave a valid effort to roll out of side control like before, but the barrage of punches to the face was only making it more difficult. Carmouche took the chance to buck out when Rousey looked like she was going for an arm triangle choke, but in the brief scramble, Carmouche then found herself defending an armbar. As we all know, never a good position to be in with Rousey.

Showing her heart and determination, Carmouche defended well. She even showed the dexterity of her legs by using them to help defend against the armbar attempt. Despite superb submission defense, the champion was able to pry her opponent’s hands apart and force the tap.

This win marked the third consecutive victory over an elite female opponent, non of which that could even make it to the second round. It’s unclear as to whom could possibly challenge Rousey for her title at this time, but one thing can be said for sure; Ronda Rousey is as dominate a champion as any.
