Earlier tonight (Sat. July 13, 2019) Josh Emmett took on Mirsad Bektic on the UFC Sacramento main card.

Emmett has established himself as one of the hardest hitters at 145 pounds, so it came as no surprise to anyone when he once again picked up an early knockout win over Bektic. Emmett popped off a beautiful jab that dropped Bektic to the canvas. Bektic tried to recover and get the single leg, but Emmett, who has some tremendous grappling as well, was able to finish the fight on the ground.

Next up at UFC Sacramento is a featherweight bout between Josh Emmett and Mirsad Bektic.

Round 1:

Emmett lands a nice high kick inside the pocket but is pushed back by some strikes from Bektic. Bektic misses on a big overhand. Emmett scores a nice overhand inside the pocket. Another big right hook lands for Emmett as both men exchange inside the pocket, and he follows up with a nice body shot. Bektic throws a flurry that is blocked by Emmett. Emmett has a big overhand blocked. A big jab from Emmett drops Bektic. he goes in on a single leg but Emmett adjusts for top position and reigns down ground-and-pound. The referee steps in and that’s it.

Official Result: Josh Emmett def. Mirsad Bektic via R1 TKO (punches, 4:25)

Round 1: Turman clinched with a body lock and slammed him down to the ground in the opening minute. Turman got side control but Roberson scrambled and got on top in half guard where he fired off some big shots. Turman teased an armbar but let go. Roberson stayed in side control for the rest of the rounds while landing some solid shots. 

Round 2: Turman was mixing up his strikes well but Roberson was quick to clinch up with him and land some nice knee strikes to the gut. Turman shoots in but Roberson defends it. From there, Turman takes his back standing against the cage. Turman got him down to the ground and was in back mount but Roberson scrambled and got on top in guard. 

Round 3: Turman lands a kick to the body, but Roberson ties him up and presses him into the cage. Turman drags him to the canvas and threatens with a choke but doesn’t get it. Turman back to full mount with two minutes to go. Roberson gives up his back again and Turman is looking for the choke but Roberson scrambled and got on top where he rained down some bombs. 

Results: Karl Roberson def. Wellington Turman by split decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28)

Cezar Ferreira and Marvin Vettori meet next in a middleweight bout to open the UFC Sacramento main card:

Round 1: They had a feeling out process early. Vettori swings for the fences with wild hooks, but he misses them. They had briefly had a clinch fest then separated with Ferreira landing a serious of leg kicks. Vettori scored a takedown with a minute to go and got full mount where he rained down strikes. Ferreira kicked him out of the position but Vettori got back into full mount. 

Round 2: Vettori scored a takedown in the opening seconds but Ferreira scrambled back to his feet. Vettori landed a good combo and a knee strike up against the fence. They clinch briefly before splitting apart and resetting on their feet. Ferreira charged at him and Vettori clinched with him. 

Round 3: Ferreira was bleeding from the bridge of his nose but continues to push the pace. Ferreira misses a spinning wheel kick and then shoots in. Vettori stuffs him and then lands a nice punch. Ferreira slipped and got to his feet. Vettori shoots in again, but again he’s stuffed.

Official Result: Marvin Vettori def. Cezar Ferreira by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
