Dustin Jacoby has just pulled off an absolute shocker of a result.

Jacoby needed just one punch to pull off a third-round knockout of Vitor Petrino during the main card of UFC Tampa.

The fight featured plenty of back and forth from both men. They looked to stay patient, but the Brazilian was arguably landing the more effective strikes.

But just when it looked like he would get his hand raised in a decision, “The Hanyak” changed things out of nowhere, landing a perfectly timed right hand to knock Petrino out cold.

Fans reacted to the brutal result, with many comparing the manner of it to Kamaru Usman’s one-shot KO of Jorge Masvidal in 2021.

After going 6-0-1 to start his UFC career following an appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series, Jacoby had lost four of five entering UFC Tampa and was likely fighting for his job.

Petrino, after an 11-0 start to his professional MMA career, has now lost back-to-back fights. He was finished by Anthony Smith earlier this year at UFC 301.

Navajo Stirling Keeps His 'O' Intact with Hard-Hitting Win Over Tuco Tokkos - UFC Tampa Highlights

Undefeated newcomer Navajo Stirling kept his ‘O’ intact, scoring a dominant decision victory over Tuco Tokkos in the UFC Tampa main card opener.

Things started relatively slow between the two as Tokkos skirted around the outer part of the Octagon and Stirling looked to pressure early. With roughly 90 seconds to go in the opening round, Stirling appeared to catch Tokkos with a body shot during an awkward exchange. That encouraged Stirling to deliver a barrage of strikes against the fence, but Tokkos survived the onslaught and made it to the second round.

No longer interested in standing and trading with Stirling, Tokkos tried to get his wrestling game going right away in the second stanza. 90 seconds into the round, Tokkos managed to muscle Stirling down, but it wasn’t long before the New Zealander fought his way back up and started to unload on Tokkos.

To Tokkos’ credit, he took everything Stirling gave him, including an especially nasty uppercut against the fence, and managed to drag Stirling back down to the mat for the second time.

With both fighters starting to run on empty, much of the third round was spent clinching against the fence. With a minute to go, Stirling caught Tokkos with a couple of body shots that had him reeling.

Stirling turned up the heat and was looking to get a finish in the waning moments of the round, but Tokkos opted to shoot for a desperation takedown. That was enough to run out the clock and send the fight to the scorecards.

Johnson picked Azaitar apart on the feet during the opening round, putting on a strong striking display and rocking the German-Moroccan on more than one occasion.

VIDEO: Joel Álvarez Attempts Guillotine After Already KO’ing Drakkar Klose With Switch Knee At UFC Tampa

It’s not every day that we see someone finish an opponent twice in the same fight, but that appeared to be what we saw during the UFC Tampa prelims in Joel Álvarez’s win over Drakkar Klose.

The Spaniard landed a strong combination that stumbled Klose backward toward the fence. Alvarez then appeared to slump Klose with a jumping knee.

The flashy striker seemed to be nearing a guillotine choke as he landed follow-up shots on Klose, who was evidently already out. The referee then jumped in to declare Álvarez the winner.

After UFC Tampa, Álvarez has now won three straight and is 7-2 in the Octagon, with one of his losses coming against upcoming lightweight title challenger Arman Tsarukyan. He last fought in August, defeating Elves Brener.

Klose, meanwhile, sees a four-fight win streak snapped with this loss. He had most recently been in action at UFC 301 earlier this year, defeating Joaquim Silva.

Sean Woodson continues to score wins, and this time it came with a bang as he pulled off a major finish of Fernando Padilla during the preliminary card of UFC Tampa.

Woodson had to outlast an early surge from Padilla, but he fought back to fire off his own flurries during the second half of the first round.

“The Sniper” then fired off back-to-back powerful one-two combinations to drop the Mexican in the closing seconds of the first round. Woodson needed just a little ground-and-pound before the referee stepped in to wave off the fight.

This UFC Tampa victory increased Woodson’s run without a defeat to eight straight fights, tying him for longest active unbeaten streak in the UFC’s featherweight division. Movsar Evloev and Lerone Murphy have the same kind of streak currently.

The 32-year-old finishes 2024 3-0, defeating Charles Jourdain and Alex Caceres earlier this year.

Padilla., meanwhile, falls to 2-2 since making his UFC debut in April 2023.

Joaquin Buckley Threatens to Give Colby Covington an ‘Ass-Whooping’ That Will Have Him Calling the Cops

Joaquin Buckley is gonna have Colby Covington calling the cops … Again.

This Saturday night, ‘New Mansa’ returns to the Octagon for a high-stakes scrap with the three-time UFC title challenger in Tampa, Florida. It’ll be Covington’s first time competing since coming up short against then-welterweight champion Leon Edwards at UFC 296 around this same time last year.

Meanwhile, Buckley is coming off a big third-round knockout of Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson just a couple of months ago.

Over the years, Covington has made a career for himself inside the Octagon while leaning on his world-class wrestling and delivering a pressure-filled pace that slowly wears on his opponents.

But if he tries to take that same approach in Tampa, ‘New Mansa’ promises to put a beating on him so bad that he’ll have ‘Chaos’ calling the authorities.

“Colby’s a pressure fighter, a wrestler, and he’s got a good pace,” Buckley told The MMA Guru. “But to be honest, the Colby we’ve seen in the last few years… he’s like a shell of his former self. He’s not the same guy who fought RDA or Masvidal.

“With that being said, I feel like I’m going to put on the kind of performance that’ll make it look like Colby’s going to try to press charges on me after the ass-whooping I give him.”

Joaquin Buckley looks to extend his unbeaten streak against Covington

Buckley goes into the UFC’s final event of 2024 riding a five-fight win streak and a 10-4 record inside the Octagon with 70% of his wins coming by way of KO/TKO.

Meanwhile, Covington has gone 2-3 in his last five with all three of his losses coming in title fights. Despite sitting as the No. 6 ranked contender in the welterweight division, Covington does not hold a win over any fighter currently ranked in the top 15.
