Two of the welterweight division’s most exciting fighters are up next in the UFC Uruguay co-main event, as Vicente Luque takes on Mike Perry.
Round 1:
Luque connects with a big combination to start things off. A big right hand connects for Perry. Perry showing nice head movement and lands a big leg kick. Another big right-hand lands for Perry, and the pair exchange leg kicks. A nice jab and lead hook connect for Perry.
Perry working to the body now. Luque lands a nice right hand and begins to back Perry up, connecting on a jab. Kick to the body and head from Perry. A big jab lands for Luque and he follows up with a leg kick. Another big hook from Perry gets through. A nice left hand connects for Perry. Flying knee lands for Luque. Leg kicks being exchanged now. Perry is cut underneath both of his eyes.
A kick to the body from Perry keeps Luque at bay. Perry putting together a big combination now, and those were some hard shots. The round comes to an end.
Round 2:
Luque has a big head kick just blocked. Perry clinches up with Luque against the cage. They separate and Luque is trying to find a home for that head kick. Jab lands for Perry but Luque gets in a nice counter. Perry with a big lead uppercut but Luque continues to walk him down.
A nice shot to the body connects for Perry but Luque lands a big shot. Perry comes inside for heavy leather, and they’re exchanging. Big combination for Perry ends with a flying knee. Another big jab lands for Perry. Perry connects with a big body shot and puts together a nice combination to the head. Luque responds with a hard hook. Stiff jab from Perry connects. Both men are landing some nice strikes now. The round comes to an end.
Round 3:
Luque connects on a leg kick and Perry gives him one right back. Perry clinches up with Luque against the cage and the pair exchange knees. As the crowd boos, Perry gives them the one-finger salute. The referee breaks up the action. A flying knee connects for Luque. Perry goes in for a takedown but Luque pulls guard for a guillotine. The squeeze is gushing blood from Perry’s head.
Perry gives the thumbs up and signals that he’s fine. A ton of blood coming out of Perry’s head now. Perry is hand fighting and gets out. Perry is on top now and keeps his head in Luque’s chest before posturing up for ground-and-pound. The clock expires and that’s it.

Featherweights take center stage next, as Humberto Bandenay takes on Luiz Eduardo Garagorri at UFC Uruguay.
Round 1:
Garagorri has a head kick just blocked by Bandenay. Bandenay slips a shot from Garagorri and gets the takedown. Garagorri instantly scoots against the cage and gets to his feet after landing some nice elbows. Garagorri with a nice takedown of his own, lands a few shots, and gets to his feet.
Bandenay wants him to come back down to the ground but the referee stands it up. A nice body shot and headshot land for Garagorri, but Bandenay responds by getting a takedown. Garagorri gets to his feet, Bandenay tries to pull guard but is unsuccessful. A big leg kick connects for Garagorri, who shoots in on a takedown.
Garagorri rips off a big combination but Bandenay shrugs it off. Bandenay blitzes in himself and clinches up with Garagorri against the cage. The round comes to an end.
Round 2:
A hard leg kick for Garagorri lands. He connects with a big hook coming inside followed by another big leg kick. Bandenay has a head kick blocked but he lands a big shot to follow up. Garagorri looks rocked for a minute but responds with a big combination of his own. A nice kick to the body lands for Garagorri.
Body work from Garagorri now and Bandenay lands a shot. They clinch up for a minute but the referee separates them. Another nice leg kick connects for Garagorri. Both men throw heavy leather and the crowd is going nuts. Bandenay gets a takedown to end the round.
Round 3:
Garagorri lands a nice left hand before stuffing a takedown. Bandenay gets a takedown, and Garagorri is right into defending with elbows. Garagorri defends nicely and gets to his feet, but still has Bandenay up against him on the cage. Bandenay goes in on another takedown attempt and they clinch up against the cage.
They finally separate and Garagorri lands some nice shots. Bit shots land for both men. A left hook lands for Garagorri after a failed takedown attempt from Bandenay. Bit swings from both men to end the fight.

Volkan Oezdemir made a statement in his UFC Uruguay victory over Ilir Latifi.
After several attempts, the pair finally met inside the Octagon tonight (Sat. August 10, 2019). Oezdemir was able to hurt Latifi late in the second round before finally dropping him with a massive left hook. He swarmed on for the ground-and-pound but was only able to get in a few shots as the referee stepped in quickly to end the contest.

Latifi lands a nice right hand. A flying knee just connects for Latifi but he eats it fine. Latifi now working on Oezdemir against the cage but they separate quickly.
Latifi has a welt below his right eye. Another knee lands for Oezdemir as he shoots in on a takedown, but he continues to push through and presses Oezdemir against the cage. Shoulder shots from Oezdemir now to separate. heavy leg kick lands for Oezdemir. Latifi landing some shots inside the pocket and has a takedown attempt stuffed.
Another Latifi shot is stuffed and Oezdemir lands some nice volume shots to back him against the cage. The round comes to an end.
Round 2:
Latifi lands a crisp combination as Oezdemir steps into the pocket. Oezdemir is trying to close the distance before unloading on Latifi. Oezdemir lands a knee that rocks and drops Latifi. Oezdemir swarms on the ground but Latifi gets to his feet. Oezdemir is trying to put things together against the cage.
Latifi survives but is taking some very deep breaths. A leg kick from Oezdemir wobbles Latifi and forces him to switch stances. A big shot from Oezdemir drops Latifi and the referee steps in to wave off the action after the follow-up shots.
Official Result: Volkan Oezdemir def. Ilir Latifi via R2 KO (punches, 4:31)

Oskar Piechota vs. Rodolfo Vieira in a middleweight bout continues the main card of the UFC Uruguay event:
Round 1: After a slow start, they started to let their hands go. Vieira drops down and scores a single, but Piechota pops back up to his feet. Vieira shoots in and takes the Pole down. Piechota goes to butterfly guard against the cage. Piechota with a triangle off his back but there’s nothing with it. Viera did a good job of staying on him and just smothering him. Oskar stood up to end the round.
Round 2: Piechota looks fatigued. Vieira shoots in but he’s stuffed. He tried again and got it. Vieira moves to mount but just as he lands it, Piechota explodes to his feet. Vieira grabs the single and then rags Peichota down against the cage. Vieira locks in a textbook arm-triangle and eventually forces the tap.
