Gabriel Benítez vs. Justin Jaynes
Gabriel Benítez has been a long-time fixture of the UFC featherweight division. It’s the weight-class we at LowKickMMA would prefer him to compete in. Despite that, we still think Benitez will have enough to get by in this lightweight fight and the oddsmakers agree as they’ve priced him at -220. The +180 underdog Jaynes is a tough man, and we think he’ll be able to survive all three rounds for a decision loss which is priced at +190.
Louis Smolka vs. José Alberto Quiñónez
He seems to have been around forever but Louis Smolka is still just 29-years-old. The American has fought the best of the best at flyweight and bantamweight. It’s not always gone his way but we expect it will do at UFC Vegas 16 and so do the bookmakers who’ve priced him at -137. Jose Alberto Quinonez has been easily dealt with each time he’s stepped up his level of opposition. The +110 underdog suffered a tough first-round KO loss against Sean O’Malley last time out and we think that could still be mentally affecting him heading into this fight.
Matt Wiman vs. Jordan Leavitt
Since taking five years off Matt Wiman hasn’t looked like what he used to. Two consecutive losses against low-level opposition make this a make or break fight. Unfortunately, he’s facing a highly fancied Contender Series prospect in Jordan Leavitt who is a huge -400 favourite heading into this one. We’ll be betting on him to stop Wiman at odds of +100 but if you fancy the veteran to pull off an upset win he’s +300 to do so.
Gian Villante vs. Jake Collier
Our final pick comes from the first fight of the evening. Gian Villante is sticking at heavyweight after looking sloppy in defeat against Maurice Greene last time out. It’s a terrible move and one we’d usually predict would end disastrously for Villante however on this occasion he’s matched against someone who even more unsuited to the heavyweight division in Jake Collier. A former middleweight who was blasted out by UFC debutant Tom Aspinall earlier this year. He enters as a +170 underdog while Villante is -200 and well worth adding to our parlay.

Jack Hermansson vs. Marvin Vettori
Jack ‘The Joker’ Hermansson may be highly ranked at 185lbs but he is not particularly fancied by the bookmakers in this one. The middleweight #4 can be found at odds of +125 just to win this late notice fight against Marvin Vettori. The Italian is stepping into his first main event and the biggest fight of his life with just one weeks’ notice. Despite that he is the favourite to emerge victorious at odds of -150. Both guys have decent striking and really impressive ground games. It really is a pick ‘em fight. However, we will be backing Hermansson for a few reasons. Firstly, he has already beaten people who are at a higher level. Secondly Vettori was supposed to compete at UFC 256 next week and a rushed weight cut could impact him at some point in this five-round fight. Lastly the odds for ‘The Joker’ are quite generous, borderline disrespectful and just too good to pass up.
Ovince St Preux vs. Jamahal Hill
In the UFC Vegas 16 co-main event we have another instance where we think the bookmakers are off. Ovince St Preux is a long-time contender at light-heavyweight and even fought for the interim title against Jon Jones. Despite that, he is the underdog at odds of +140 against impressive prospect Jamahal Hill who enters the -170 favourite. As impressed as we’ve been with Hill it’s impossible to back him in this situation. Not only do his odds present no value he’s also taking several steps up in level. OSP dispatched of another highly-fancied prospect last time out and we expect him to do so again on Saturday night.
Montana De La Rosa vs. Talia Santos
The women’s flyweight division is of the toughest to bet on in MMA. Outside of the champ, these ladies are all capable of beating each other on any given night. Montana De La Rosa has a win over Mara Romero Borella who edged out Talia Santos in her UFC debut last year. If you’re a fan of MMA math De La Rosa seems like the way to go. However, that’s not our thing. Santos looked very strong in her win over Molly McCann last time out and we are picking her to continue her good form at UFC Vegas 16. The oddsmakers seem to agree having priced her at -220 to get the win. You could potentially plump up your bet by picking Santos to get the decision win at -110 or if you fancy De La Rosa to earn the victory she’s priced at +180.
Roman Dolidze vs. John Allan Arte
Roman Dolidze is an undefeated Georgian prospect who we are expecting to steal the show at UFC Vegas 16. The bookmakers are backing him too at odds of -200. So, we’ll be definitely picking him to finish the +170 underdog John Allan Arte. Dolidze is -110 get the finish by any method and we think is the most certain bet of the night.
Movsar Evloev vs. Nate Landwehr
Opening up the UFC Vegas 16 main card we have a fun featherweight fight. The undefeated Russian fighter Movsar Evloev is of course the betting favourite but his -600 odds seem very harsh on Nate Landwehr who looked great against Darren Elkins last time out. If you fancy ‘The Train’ to pull off the upset you can get huge +450 odds. Otherwise, we advise avoiding this fight unless you are able to pick the round Eveloev gets this done.

The highly-anticipated December 5 main event between middleweight contenders, Darren ‘The Gorilla’ Till and Jack ‘The Joker’ Hermansson has unfortunately fallen to the wayside.
According to an earlier report from ESPN MMA reporter, Brett Okamoto, fan-favourite striker, Till has been forced to withdraw from the UFC Vegas 16 headliner against the grappling ace, due to an undisclosed injury.
In the Liverpudlian’s place steps streaking division contender, Kevin ‘The Trailblazer’ Holland who attempts to jot his name in the history books. Featuring just last weekend at UFC Vegas 12 with a massive submission to slam stoppage win over Charlie Ontiveros, Holland notched his fourth consecutive win of this calendar year. A victory over Hermansson would secure Holland’s status as the sole middleweight to lodge five wins in a calendar annum in the promotion’s history.
Last featuring at UFC Fight Island 3 at the end of July on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE – Team Kaobon mainstay, Till dropped his first loss since his November move to middleweight in a close back-and-forth five-round decision blemish to former 185-pound best, Robert ‘The Reaper’ Whittaker.
The popular counter striker had made his middleweight birth in the co-main event of UFC 244 in November last at Madison Square Garden, and like would-be opponent, Hermansson, took home a victory over former interim chaser, Kelvin Gastelum.
Featuring in July also, former Cage Warriors gold holder, Hermansson rebounded from a UFC Fight Night Copenhagen knockout loss to Jared Cannonier to nab an eye-catching opening frame heel hook win over Kings MMA staple, Gastelum.
Along with his first-round win over Ontiveros, 28-year-old California favourite, Holland had scored other triumphs against Till’s compatriot, Darren Stewart, and knockout stoppages of recent viral sensation, Joaquin Buckley, and a May win over Anthony Hernandez.
Replacing Till on short-notice, Holland also features under the headlining bracket for the premier time in the organization since his promotional bow back in August 2018 at UFC 227. For Hermansson, the 32-year-old Swede takes main event honours for the third time in his last four Octagon appearances.
