Miesha Tate has released a video of herself removing stitches she received following her UFC Vegas 43 loss to Ketlen Vieira.

Miesha Tate has already delivered one of the most inspirational stories of 2021 by returning from a five-year layoff to get her hand raised for the first time as a mother. She made it known that this was not the end of her comeback story, though. She was not content with picking up one victory, nor would she be satisfied with anything else that fell short of her recapturing the UFC women’s bantamweight championship.

However, those plans suffered a setback when she lost to Ketlen Vieira in the UFC Vegas 43 main event. Tate has already addressed the loss in a pair of statements in which “Cupcake” expressed that she has no regrets and has continued to hold her head high following this defeat.

Friday, Miesha Tate continued to let the audience into her post-fight processing by sharing a video that shows her removing her own stitches.

“I feel like I’m healing up pretty well, all things considered,” Tate said in the video. “I actually already took one out. I thought, you know what, maybe you all would like to see this.”

“I think there’s no point in going to a doctor to remove these, but I’m also kind of crazy,” said Tate.

Miesha Tate remains ranked in the top 10 of the women’s bantamweight division, currently placed at #8. Tate faces a potential six-month medical suspension if she does not receive clearance for bilateral nasal bone fractures and a superior nasal septal fracture.

Aoriqileng Brands Cody Durden A Coward After “Back to China” Comment

Aoriqileng, Cody Durden

UFC flyweight Aoriqileng has responded to the controversial comment aimed at him by opponent Cody Durden following their fight this past weekend.

Aoriqileng and Durden squared off inside the Octagon in the third bout of UFC Vegas 43 on Saturday. In a contest where neither man impressed, the American emerged victorious on the judges’ scorecards, a decision which many disagreed with. But the real talking point came in the immediate aftermath of the result.

During his post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier, Durden first called on fans to follow him on Instagram. He then appeared to kill any chance he had of building some support by admitting he wanted to send Aoriqileng “back to China.”

Aoriqileng Fires Back After “Disgusting” Remark

The comment received an immediate gasp from the small crowd in attendance at the Apex, and was subject to a rightfully large dose of scrutiny over social media, with fans and fighters alike describing Durden as racist and xenophobic. The 30-year-old’s response did little to convince people otherwise.

Durden essentially put his comment down to the fact he believed Aoriqileng had been “disrespectful” by not shaking his hand at the weigh-ins. Now days out from the controversial incident, “The Mongolian Murderer” has fired back at his flyweight peer. Taking to Instagram, the 28-year-old claimed he was the true victor and slammed Durden for his “disgusting” words.

“I destroyed this coward in the cage, but the judges gave him a chance to say something disgusting through his disgusting mouth. He can do nothing in the fight, and I saw fear through his eyes. He is a coward.”

While the likes of Din Thomas, UFC women’s flyweight Casey O’Neill, and welterweight contender Belal Muhammad made their disdain for Durden known, some expressed their willingness to teach the Georgia native a lesson inside the cage.

After being called out by Durden prior to the controversial comment, Jeff Molina described the 30-year-old as a “POS (piece of shit)” and said he’d be more than happy to punch him in the face. New UFC signing Muhammad Mokaev also expressed his desire to make himself known to UFC fans by giving a beating to Durden in his Octagon debut.

What did you make of Cody Durden’s comment and his subsequent non-apology?

Ketlen Vieira Looked Up To Miesha Tate Leading Up To UFC Vegas 43 Win

Ketlen Vieira

UFC bantamweight contender Ketlen Vieira used Miesha Tate as an inspiration leading up to her biggest win against her at UFC Vegas 43.

It was a bit of a coming-out party for Vieira, who needed a signature win over an opponent like Tate to get back on track in the bantamweight division. She battered and bloodied Tate on the feet late in the fight to secure a unanimous decision victory.

During her UFC Vegas 43 post-fight press conference, Vieira revealed that she was a bit awestruck by Tate in the early rounds. She got off to a slow start before pushing the pace later on.

“Miesha was already a champion before I could get my hands in MMA,” Vieira said. “She was already a champion, so I looked up to her. And fighting a legend like that just makes me believe in my skills, makes me mentally more tough and ready for the future.”

Ketlen Vieira Has Entered The Bantamweight Title Picture

Vieira entered the fight having lost two of her last three fights, despite a strong start to her professional career. She most recently suffered a controversial unanimous decision loss to Yana Kunitskaya earlier this year.

Despite her recent struggles, fighting against top contenders hasn’t been a new aspect of Vieira’s UFC tenure. She’s earned wins over former title challengers Cat Zingano and Sara McMann before defeating Tate.

Tate had made her return to the Octagon in just her second fight since ending her retirement from the UFC. She had defeated Marion Reneau at UFC Vegas 31 before falling to Vieira.

With the win over Tate, Vieira is now a potential dark horse in the bantamweight title picture, which is desperate for new talent and contenders to Amanda Nunes’ throne.

Who do you think Ketlen Vieira should fight next?

Adrian Yanez Responds To Sean O’Malley’s Callout With Some Criticism

Adrian Yanez

Rising UFC bantamweight prospect Adrian Yanez is open to a fight with Sean O’Malley but isn’t a fan of his alleged lack of competition.

Yanez earned another big win over Davey Grant at UFC Vegas 43 and also earned Fight of the Night honors. He blitzed Grant with his signature boxing to earn the split decision win, although many felt Yanez won the fight with relative ease.

This attracted the attention of O’Malley, who is another bantamweight prospect that fans are excited about. O’Malley hinted at a possible fight in March against Yanez.

During his UFC Vegas 43 post-fight press conference, Yanez welcomed an opportunity to fight O’Malley but isn’t a fan of the level of opponents he’s faced.

“I would fight Sean O’Malley,” Yanez said. “He says he wants to try to get a ranked opponent and all that stuff but yeah, he’s dodging all these other ranked opponents. Let’s dive into that one right quick. So, Sean O’Malley says, ‘Okay, let me go out there and let me fight a top-ranked opponent.’ but then he gets Thomas Almeida, who is on the shelf for a couple of years.”

“But also, I’d be down to fight him. I don’t care.”

Adrian Yanez, Sean O’Malley Are Promising UFC Prospects

Yanez entered UFC Vegas 43 with a seven-fight winning streak and remains undefeated in his young UFC career. He got a shot in the UFC after an impressive knockout against Brady Huang on Dana White’s Contender Series.

O’Malley is already scheduled to face Raulian Paiva at the upcoming UFC 269 pay-per-view. He’s coming off of his dominant win over Kris Moutinho at UFC 264.

A fight between Yanez and O’Malley would feature arguably two of the top strikers in the 135-pound division, and would surely entice the UFC fanbase. If O’Malley can get past Paiva, a fight with Yanez next could make sense.

What do you think about a potential Adrian Yanez vs. Sean O’Malley fight?
