UFC referee Keith Peterson was not of fan of Bobby Green’s post-fight celebration.

Stepping into the main event spotlight at UFC Vegas 80, Green added another big win to his resume, scoring a stunning 33-second knockout against rising lightweight contender Grant Dawson. With the win, ‘King’ moved into the No. 13 spot in the rankings and is riding a massive wave of momentum as he hopes to make a quick turnaround and compete once more before 2023 comes to a close.

Following his highlight-reel-worthy win, Bobby Green celebrated by paying tribute to WWE legend Triple H, flexing his arms and spitting water into the air during Bruce Buffer’s official announcement. Unfortunately for Peterson, he got caught in the collateral damage and was clearly left less than thrilled.

Addressing Peterson’s reaction during an appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Bobby Green made it clear that he didn’t care, suggesting that the long-time UFC ref owed him one.

“I don’t care, Keith owes me. Me and Keith, when I saw him in the back and we ran into each other, he was like the bad luck charm supposedly. He was saying like ‘argh I know, I know you don’t want me here’ and I’m like bro, I don’t give a f*ck. You don’t really got sh*t to do in my fights, it’s just like stupid sh*t happens, I don’t give a f*ck. Just do your job, I don’t give a f*ck, do you bro I respect you. I just kept it cool with him.”

“It’s just stupid sh*t happens and we keep moving on. I don’t want you to think I hate you and I hope you don’t hate me” (h/t MMA News).

Keith Peterson Reversed Bobby Green’s First-Round KO Against Jared Gordon

In April, Keith Peterson was the assigned referee for a fight between Bobby Green and Jared Gordon. ‘King’ appeared to score himself a first-round knockout against Gordon, but the result was quickly overturned to a no-contest after instant replay revealed that the fight-ending sequence began with an accidental clash of heads.

Bobby Green was left fuming following the announcement and let his feelings fly during the post-fight press event.

“F*ck it, we’re going to let some feelings out today,” Green said. “F*ck this, f*ck this, and f*ck this. I get it, I get it, we f*cking clashed heads. I was trying to go for an elbow and he kind of dipped his head and we kind of clashed, but he was still f*cking moving. He was trying to put me into a f*cking triangle.

“I fought the triangle sh*t off and he was still moving fine. And that after, when I busted his ass, then he was f*cked up. He was still straight [before that]. And they want to try to slide me out of my money — that’s what I’m mad about. I need my money, bro. I need my money.”

Drew Dober

After a sensational performance at UFC Vegas 80, the hard-hitting Drew Dober has his sights set on some lofty goals and ambitions for the future, including a fight with Michael Chandler.

At UFC Vegas 80, Dober impressed the world with his sharpness and accuracy, among other things. Not to mention how he became the leader in KO’s inside the lightweight division.

Against his opponent Ricky Glenn, Dober utilized his combos and every asset at his disposal to set up the big shots he needed to land, and never lost his composure or rushed the finish. His opponent Glenn attempted to hang tough, but the only thing he successfully held onto that night was Dober’s glove illegally in a grappling exchange.

The fight was over soon after the incident, and of course, it’s hard to blame somebody for a mistake made at such a pivotal moment. Dober went on to cash in the beautiful finish and was awarded the $50,000 performance of the night bonus by Dana White and the UFC.

Drew Dober wants Michael Chandler next in what would make an outrageously fun banger

As both fighters are known for their entertaining performances, a match between Chandler and Dober would have all the makings for a certified classic. The young rising star was hesitant to call anybody out after his fight, but eventually, he did make it clear that he would love to battle Chandler.

“I keep on thinking about if Chandler wants a 5’9” southpaw to get him warmed up [for Conor] McGregor, I’m always available,” Drew Dober informed the world.

Sadly, Dober will likely have to climb for a lot longer before he’s given opportunities like what a Michael Chandler fight would be for him. Such a fight would be life-changing, and the UFC is likely going to need a lot more convincing before they give Dober the ultimate push like that.

Who do you think Drew Dober should fight next?

Joe Pyfer believes he has bested the entire continent of Africa with his win over Abdul Razak Alhassan.

‘Bodybagz’ scored his third-straight W inside the Octagon at UFC Vegas 80, earning a slick second-round arm triangle submission against Alhassan, improving his overall record to 12-2.

With the UFC’s ban on flags officially reversed, Pyfer proudly draped the stars and stripes over his shoulder while delivering an impassioned post-fight speech with Daniel Cormier. Later on that evening, ‘Bodybagz’ sat down in front of members of the media and continued to share his joy over being able to represent the United States inside The APEX, flag and all.

Pyfer also suggested that his win over Alhassan, who hails from Ghana, was a win over the entire continent of Africa.

“To be able to walk about with the flag… I’m one of the top 20 in the world of athletes in an organization that says they have the best in the world, so I’ll consider myself that,” Pyfer said at the post-fight press event. “I’ll stroke my ego and I get to walk out and represent the U.S.A. And I just beat Africa. It means a lot to me.”

There are 54 countries in Africa and apparently, Joe Pyfer beat them all on Saturday night.

Joe Pyfer Ready for the Next Level in Competition

All jokes and ill-advised comments aside, Joe Pyfer is on the fast track to superstardom after earning three straight finishes against Alen Amedovski, Gerald Meerschaert, and Alhassan.

Undeniably impressive in those performances, Pyfer is ready to take a step up in competition. So long as the money’s right.

“I’m just saying if you want me to fight the top guys, I respect these men,” Pyfer said. “They’re all tough. They’re the best in the world. But just let me fight for some of the money that’s the best in the world. I don’t want to be guaranteed less than a certain amount if I lost, by taking a chance. That’s all.”

Dana White confirms the UFC’s ban on flags is officially over: ‘If any flags hurt your feelings, too bad’

Dana WhiteUFC CEO Dana White confirmed that the promotion’s ban on flags is officially over. UFC CEO Dana White confirmed that the promotion’s ban on flags is officially over.

More than a year removed from the UFC’s initial ban on fighters flying their home colors inside the Octagon, White confirmed that the ban was officially lifted as of Saturday’s UFC Vegas 80 event inside The APEX in Las Vegas.

“Flags are back,” White told reporters during the post-fight press event. “I was on vacation during the Mexican Independence Day, and the no flag thing drove me crazy. So I was like, ‘Yeah, f*ck that. We’re bringing flags back.’ It drove me crazy.”

Dana White Doesn’t Care if Certain Flags Offend You

In May 2022, the promotion banned fighters from coming out with flags on the heels of the Russia-Ukraine war, but it appears that White has had a change of heart following Noche UFC, the promotion’s first event celebrating Mexican Independence Day.

“There’s a lot of things that go on in a company this big,” White said. “You can’t micromanage everything. Sometimes things are done for the intentions of the right reasons, or whatever. Everybody in this room knows the way that I feel about a lot of things. Basically, ‘I don’t give a f*ck,’ is the answer to most things.

“Everybody’s too soft, everybody’s too sensitive about everything. When the decision was made to do this, I was just like, ‘Eh, what’s the big deal if they don’t have flags?’ Mexican Independence Day flipped the switch and I was like, ‘That’s enough of the no flags thing.’ Flags are back. If any flags hurt your feelings, too f*cking bad” (h/t MMA Junkie).

Fight fans were quick to notice that Karolina Kowalkiewicz had the Polish flag draped over her shoulders following her unanimous decision victory over Diana Belbita. It became much more apparent that something had changed in the co-main event when Joe Pyfer proudly waved the American flag around following his submission victory over Abdul Razak Alhassan.

Are you in favor of fighters flying their flag inside the Octagon, or is it something that should have stayed on the UFC’s do-not-do list?

Turning in a blistering first round knockout win over Grant Dawson in last night’s UFC Vegas 80 headliner, veteran lightweight staple, Bobby Green has welcomed the opportunity to fight Dan Hooker in his next Octagon appearance – which he hopes occurs as soon as December.

Green, who made a headlining walk for just the second time in his lengthy Octagon stay last night at the UFC Apex facility, made good on his sophomore main event appearance, stopping the highly-rated Dawson with a stunning 33-second knockout win, to extend his winning spree to two straight fights.

Earlier this year, San Bernardino veteran, Green submitted former interim lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson with a third round arm-triangle submission win at UFC 291 – handing the Oxnard native his sixth successive Octagon loss.

And despite remaining coy on his next Octagon walk following his stunning upset knockout win over Dawson, Green admitted his team want him to pursue a fight with the above-mentioned New Zealand striker, Hooker, as he prepares for a potential end-of-year return in December.

“My coach has been putting names in my ear, they said (Dan) Hooker,” Bobby Green told assembled media after UFC Vegas 80. “They want me to fight Hooker and I’m like, ‘Okay, if Hooker is down, I’m down,’”

“I’m down to even headline the prelims,” Bobby Green explained. “I know that the [December] cards are so stacked up. I just got to go check out my hand a little bit.”

And in an almost immediate response to Green, City Kickboxing striker, Hooker welcomed the chance to fight Green next – before taking aim at fellow lightweight contender, Renato Moicano.

“Let’s boogie @BobbyKGreen,” Dan Hooker posted on his official X account. “Moicano can suck it.”

Bobby Green lands first round KO win over Grant Dawson in 33 seconds UFC Vegas 80 Highlights

Veteran lightweight staple, Bobby Green has likely landed within the lightweight top-15 once more — years on since his last time in the rankings, handing the hugely-talented, Grant Dawson with a stunning first round knockout loss inside the Octagon — with just 33 seconds lasped on the clock in their UFC Vegas 80 headliner tonight.

Green, who made just his second main event appearance under the banner of the UFC, entered tonight’s headlining clash with wrestling talent, Dawson off the back of a third round arm-triangle submission win over former interim champion, Tony Ferguson.

And turning in a shocking upset victory tonight in the main event of UFC Vegas 80 — San Bernardino native, Bobby Green dropped Dawson with a perfectly-timed and placed straight left hand strike, before following up with a slew of ground strikes, forcing referee, Keith Peterson to call a halt to the action inside just 33 seconds of the opening round at UFC Vegas 80.

Electing against calling for a certain opponent following his win over American Top Team staple, Dawson, Green instead called to feature on a card of some form in December, hoping to continue his vein of busy activity before the end of the year.
