Kevin and George from the Uncut Sports Show give their predictions for all of the action from this upcoming weekend’s UFC 159 event live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The third fight on the main card pins heavy hitters Roy Nelson vs Cheick Kongo in a classic slobberknocker. Roy Nelson (18-7) has rebounded well after a recent 1-3 skid by knocking out back to back opponents in Dave Herman (UFC 146) and Matt Mitrione (TUF 16 Finale). Cheick Kongo (18-7) was demolished by Mark Hunt (UFC 146) and barely managed to sneak past Shawn Jordan (UFC 149), so it will be interesting to see if Kongo can match the intensity of Nelson from start to finish. Kevin and George from the Uncut Sports Show breakdown all of the action from this weekend’s Ultimate Fighter Season 17 Finale, including the surprise of the night when Kelvin Gastelum did the unthinkable to Uriah Hall. Gastelum used his wrestling background to consistently take down Hall and take away his most important weapon, his quickness. Kelvin Gastelum says the reason he won season 17 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) was because he wasn’t “scared” to bring the fight to Uriah Hall and was determined to keep the pressure on “Prime Time.” Next up? A possible drop to welterweight.

Kevin and George from the Uncut Sports Show breakdwon all of the action from this weekend’s Ultimate Fighter Season 17 Finale, including the bout between Travis Browne and Gabriel Gonzaga. Travis Browne wanted it to be known he’s a striker. Well, OK then.
With six vicious elbows while he was clinched up along the cage, Browne (14-1-1 MMA, 5-1-1 UFC) put Gabriel Gonzaga (14-7 MMA, 9-6 UFC) out and just like that, raised his stock in the UFC’s heavyweight division. Who here believes that Kevin would take a punch from Browne for 20 grand? Would you?

Kevin and George from the Uncut Sports Show break down all of the fights from this weekend’s Ultimate Fighter Season 17 Finale, including the fight of the night between Cat Zingano and Miesha Tate. If people didn’t know who Cat Zingano was before Saturday, they do now. Or they will very soon. Zingano (8-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) stopped Miesha Tate (13-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) with a third-round TKO victory, surviving a couple rough rounds with the former Strikeforce champion to rally for the win. Zingano was impressive and should be an interesting candidate to potentially challenge Ronda Rousey at the top of female MMA.

The Uncut Sports Show – TUF 18 Tryouts, GSP vs. Hendricks

George and Kevin from the Uncut Sports Show debate on the impact of Dana White’s huge announcement at UFC 158 last weekend when he named Ronda Rousey as one of the coaches for the upcoming season of the Ultimate Fighter. Rousey, arguably UFC’s most polarizing figure at the moment, will definitely change the TUF landscape, as both Women and Men will be eligible to tryout for the 18th season of the show starting in April. The Uncut Guys debate whether the male and female fighters should be separated into two different houses, or if White and the UFC should take the risk of having them live together. Real World anyone? We’ll just have to wait and see.

In part two, Kevin and George from the Uncut Sports Show take a look at the new number one contender to GSP’s throne, Johny Hendricks. Hit PLAY to catch the second video or make the jump.

Kevin and George from the Uncut Sports Show take a look at the new number one contender to GSP’s throne, Johny Hendricks. Hendricks declared himself 100% healthy after suffering a slight break to his hand during his UFC 158 bout versus Carlos Condit, and would appear to be the most deserving of a title shot. Hendricks is on a roll in the ring but can his overpowering style overwhelm the tactical and saavy approach of GSP? In addition, up and coming fighter Chris Weidman has been drawing some impressive comparisons over the last few weeks and the Uncut guys believe that he deserves a primetime fight as well. Would a battle with UFC legend Anderson Silva finally put Weidman’s name on the map?

Kevin and George from the Uncut Sports Show bring you their weekly Ultimate Fighter Season 17 episode recap, in which they discuss this week’s battle between Dylan Andrews and Zak Cummings and the upcoming challenge between Bubba McDaniels and Clint Hester. They also address Don Frye’s controversial comments the other day about Randy Couture and Frank Muir purposely throwing their fights against Brock Lesnar to build up his popularity in the UFC. He thinks Lesnar is just a “waste of flesh” and would like to take him on one-on-one. Pretty daring challenge for a 40+ year old fighter passed his prime. Tune in to see if you agree with the guys and don’t forget to subscribe to the Uncut Sports Show for weekly episodes!

Don Frye wildly accused Brock Lesnar of having fixed fights in the UFC. Then he went on to call him an asshole and a waste of flesh. Frye finds it hard to believe that Lesnar is a better wrestler than Randy Couture and a better fighter than Frank Muir. What do you think? Did the UFC fix these fights to promote Brock Lesnar as their next big star?

The Ultimate Fighter 17, episode 8 had the final preliminary fight, the coaches challenge, and the wildcard pick. The final preliminary fight showcased Team Jones’ Dylan Andrews and Team Sonnen’s Zak Cummings. Andrews stood firm through the first two rounds and defeat Cummings via a majority decision. Next was the coaches’ challenge, where $10,000 was on the line in a Jon Jones- Chael Sonnen matchup. However, no punches were thrown, but rather heavy machinery was used to complete a bevvy of challenges. Jon Jones got out to a steady lead as Chael Sonnen struggled to stack tires with the excavator. However, it would be Jones’ folly in the end that would allow Sonnen to come back and seal the victory. Finally, the wild card choices are announced as Chael Sonnen makes the easy pick of Kevin Casey, while Jon Jones struggles to choose between top pick Clint Hester and underdog Robert “Bubba” McDaniel.
