UFC middleweight Uriah Hall is not happy with Darren Till and is accusing the English UFC star of ducking him for a fight.

Hall is in the middle of training camp as he works towards his scheduled UFC return at a UFC Fight Night event on April 16. He’s slated to face Andre Muniz, an up-and-coming middleweight who is looking for another signature win on his record.

But Hall wanted another solidified middleweight for his Octagon return. He targeted a fight with Till on the upcoming UFC London card, but Till allegedly turned down the fight for an undisclosed reason, according to Hall.

During a recent interview with The Schmo, Hall had some choice words for Till after allegedly passing up a fight with him.

“I mean to be honest, it’s not something that I wanted,” Hall said of the Muniz matchup. “I wanted Darren Till but he’s being a punk a** b**ch, and I don’t know what happened. He’s just playing the UFC or whatnot, but he’s one that makes sense. I wanted him, but I think he’s just scared. I think he’s really scared. Either that or he’s injured or some s**t, he’s always making excuses. He talks smack but I know when he stands in front of me he’s going to be quiet. I just know I can beat him. He’s short, he sucks, he’s ugly. I just know I can kick his a**.”

Hall has won four of his last five fights but is coming off of a unanimous decision loss to Sean Strickland last July. Before that, he had earned a TKO win after Chris Weidman snapped his leg just seconds into the fight at UFC 261.

Till has lost four of his last five against some of the best talents in the UFC, including most recently against Derek Brunson and Robert Whittaker. His lone win since moving to middleweight came against Kelvin Gastelum via split decision at UFC 244.

Hall and Till have gone at each other in recent months. Hall called out Till on social media before Till called him an “ugly motherf**ker” in an interview with Ariel Helwani. Hall’s description of Till’s physical attributes indicates that the feeling is mutual.

It’s unclear when Till is slated to return after allegedly suffering a knee injury in the lead-up to his last fight. But Hall seems to be a willing opponent, depending on what happens with his fight against Muniz.

André Muniz will get his momentum at middleweight tested when he fights Uriah Hall.

The new matchup has joined UFC’s April 16 event, per Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting. The bout has reportedly been verbally agreed upon and is in the process of being finalized.

The matchup is joining a “Fight Night” card that doesn’t have a confirmed location yet.

Muniz has yet to lose through four fights in the UFC. He has gained a reputation for being a submission specialist, stopping his past three opponents all in the first round. His most recent win came just last month, catching Eryk Anders with an armbar at UFC 269.

Muniz beat a legend earlier in 2021, stopping Jacare Souza with an armbar in May. The fight would end up being Souza’s last fight, as he announced retirement later that year.

When putting together the victories that Muniz has earned before and after joining the UFC, he is currently on an eight-fight winning streak.

A win against Hall could shoot Muniz up the rankings. He is currently placed #13 in the official UFC rankings, while Hall sits up at #9.

Hall, a UFC veteran of 18 fights, will be attempting to return to the win column. He lost a main event fight in his most recent appearance, dropping a unanimous decision to Sean Strickland in July.

Hall had some momentum before then, stringing together four wins from 2018 to 2021. The most recent of the victories was a brutal fight, as his bout against Chris Weidman was stopped in just 17 seconds due to Weidman’s leg visibly breaking.

Earlier in the win streak, Hall had earned victories over Antonio Carlos Junior and former champ Anderson Silva.

Welterweights Vicente Luque and Belal Muhammad are currently set to headline UFC’s April 16 show. Here is the updated lineup:

Welterweight Main Event Bout: Vicente Luque vs. Belal Muhammad

Middleweight Bout: André Muniz vs. Uriah Hall

Welterweight Bout: Miguel Baeza vs. Dhiego Lima

Heavyweight Bout: Chris Barnett vs. Martin Buday

Lightweight Bout: Drakkar Klose vs. Brandon Jenkins

Welterweight Bout: Rafa Garcia vs. Jesse Ronson

Middleweight Bout: Caio Borralho vs. Gadzhi Omargadzhiev

Bantamweight Bout: Lina Lansberg vs. Pannie Kianzad

Do you see Uriah Hall stopping the momentum of André Muniz? Or will Muniz be able to keep his streak going?

Darren Till Admits Interest In Facing “Ugly Motherf*cker” Uriah Hall

After being called out by Uriah Hall multiple times, UFC middleweight contender Darren Till has admitted he’s interested in a fight with “Prime Time.”

Till was last in action at UFC Vegas 36 in September. After going 1-1 at middleweight with a debut win against Kelvin Gastelum and a main event decision setback to former champion Robert Whittaker, “The Gorilla” hoped to stake his claim for a title shot against divisional veteran Derek Brunson.

Instead, Till fell to his fourth defeat in five fights, and did so in devastating fashion. Inside Las Vegas’ Apex, the Englishman was dominated by Brunson, who’s firmly escaped gatekeeper status and become a genuine contender. He seemingly secured his place in a title eliminator against Jared Cannonier by submitting Till in the third round.

Till Looks To Bounce Back in 2022

Once considered a sure-fire future welterweight champion, defeats to Tyron Woodley and Jorge Masvidal saw Till pursue success at middleweight instead. Now with consecutive losses at 185 pounds, the future is uncertain for the Liverpool native. Nevertheless, “The Gorilla” hasn’t lost confidence and believes he’ll bounce back in his next appearance.

While his opponent is yet to be decided, top-10 middleweight veteran Uriah Hall has made his desire to challenge Till clear on social media. The Jamaican-born American saw his own chance to break into the title conversation slip away earlier this year when Sean Strickland snapped his four-fight win streak in the UFC Vegas 33 main event.

During a recent appearance on Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour, Till addressed the rumors surrounding his return. The 29-year-old suggested he could feature on the March UFC Fight Night Event that is expected to take place in London. He also acknowledged Hall’s callouts, admitting the idea of facing the #9-ranked “Prime Time” is interesting to him.

“There’s a massive chance… There’s a big chance I’ll be fighting in London. We’ll see what happens with it and who it’s against. I know Uriah called me out. Let’s just see mate. I can’t say too much… Yeah, I’m interested (in facing Hall). I think he’s a good fighter. I think he’s an ugly motherfucker, but he’s not a bad fighter. Whatever, let’s see mate. I’ve got options.”

If the bout does get booked to headline the March 19 card in London, Till will be joining a host of other British fighters on the card. That includes Jack Shore, Mike Grundy, Molly McCann, and the debuting Muhammad Mokaev.

Darren Till believes Charles Oliveira is the best lightweight on the planet.

Till, in his early career, was touted as an up and coming prospect and at the start he was living up to that expectation. Wins over Stephen Thompson and Donald Cerrone would help boost Darren Till on his way to a title shot against Tyron Woodley.

‘The Gorilla’ would fall short against Woodley and following on from this bout Till would go on to lose three of his next four to Jorge Masvidal, Robert Whittaker and most recently Derek Brunson. His only win in this period would be a split decision victory over Kelvin Gastelum.

However, Till should not be discouraged, to look at what Charles Oliveira has done since he started in the UFC to where he is today no one could have expected and speaking in a recent interview on The MMA Hour Till highlighted the inspiration he takes from Oliveira’s story.

“It’s just a few little tweaks and a few little adjustments and I’m right back there, trust me I’ll be right back there, breaking records and beating all these bests, trust me on that mate i promise you. Take example by Charles Oliveira, he was the underdog on the fight, and you can ask anyone.

“I love Dustin Poirier, I’ve known the guy for years, he’s a great guy but anyone who asked me I would say “Oliveira’s gonna win the fight” I’ll tell you mate, he’s the best lightweight on the planet right now, including Khabib, he’s the best lightweight on the planet. Trust me.” (transcribed by sportskeeda.com)

What is next for Darren Till?

Till currently sits at a crossroads in his career with him still being only 28 he has plenty of time left within the sport, however, recent results show that he needs some change and to adjust in his game.

His next opportunity to show improvements could come against Number 9 ranked middleweight Urian Hall, as the two have been suggested to be the main event to headline a UFC London card scheduled for March 19th.

Uriah Hall Calls Out Darren Till Again After Receiving No Response

Uriah Hall, Darren Till

UFC middleweight Uriah Hall has continued to set his sights on fellow 185-pound contender Darren Till for his next Octagon appearance.

Hall, who’s been in the world’s leading MMA promotion since a defeat to Kelvin Gastelum in The Ultimate Fighter 17 middleweight final, has consistently fallen short of title contention, and is considered one of the most prominent former future stars who haven’t managed to make their mark.

After going 1-4 between 2015 and 2018, a period which included defeats to current top fives Robert Whittaker, Derek Brunson, and Paulo Costa, Hall mounted another surge towards the top. He built a four-fight winning streak that saw him defeat Bevon Lewis, Antônio Carlos Júnior, and Anderson Silva.

After a gruesome broken leg gave him the victory over Chris Weidman earlier this year, Hall was matched up with rising contender Sean Strickland. The pair faced off in the main event of UFC Vegas 33 in July. Across five rounds, “Tarzan” dominated “Prime Time” and secured a comfortable unanimous decision win.

Hall Wants “The Gorilla” Next

Despite a hefty setback keeping him at the back-end of the divisional top 10 and a sizable step away from title contention, Hall remains eager to get back into the Octagon and back into the win column. In a tweet earlier this month, the Jamaican-born American called out another middleweight coming off a devastating loss.

“@darrentill2 wanna do a backyard fight in your hometown,” wrote Hall.

Till, who made the move up to 185 pounds from welterweight in 2019, headlined the European-flavored UFC Vegas 36 card against Brunson in September this year. The Liverpudlian was largely dominated throughout and tapped to a rear-naked choke in the third round.

With both Till and Hall looking to bounce back, the matchup appears to make sense. However, the 37-year-old has been met with silence from “The Gorilla,” something which has drawn out a second call out. Taking to Instagram, Hall reminded Till that it’s been 13 days since he first challenged him.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CWpO8cENZRz/

“It’s day number 13 still no word from @darrentill2”

Like Hall, Till was tipped for greatness early in his career. After falling short of the 170-pound gold against Tyron Woodley and being knocked out for the first time by Jorge Masvidal, “The Gorilla” looked to pursue a new title. A divisional debut win against Gastelum in 2019 put him on the right track, but losses to Brunson and Whittaker since have put the Englishman’s career in limbo.

It stands to reason Till will be eager to get back into form against another fighter coming off a loss, especially a veteran like Hall. With that in mind, it’s hard to see Till not responding to the 37-year-old’s callouts sooner or later.
