In the main event of the first of two UFC events held on Saturday, Gegard Mousasi got his hand raised, successfully gaining revenge on the last man to beat him, Urijah Hall, in their rematch in the main event of UFC Fight Night 99.

The fight saw Mousasi finish Hall with strikes at the 4:37 mark of the opening round of the event held at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

In their previous meeting, which went down at UFC Fight Night 75 in Saitama, Japan back in September of 2015, Hall would win via TKO at the 0:25 mark of the second round. In spectacular fashion, Hall beat Mousasi with a highlight reel combination that included a spinning back kick, flying knee and punches.

Urijah Hall continued his inconsistent ways on Saturday night, as he suffered a first-round technical knockout defeat to Derek Brunson at the UFC Fight Night 94 event in Hidalgo, Texas.

The former TUF Finalist Hall was originally scheduled to fight Anderson Silva in his next fight, until “The Spider” filled in for Jon Jones against Daniel Cormier at the historic UFC 200 event in July.

Instead, Hall met Derek Brunson, who would stop him with strikes at the 1:41 mark of the opening round.

As noted, MMA legend Anderson Silva is off of this Saturday’s UFC 198 pay-per-view event in Curitiba, Brazil after being rushed to emergency surgery to have a gall bladder removed on Wednesday morning.

It was clear that due to the operation, “The Spider” would be off of this weekend’s fight card, however it wasn’t known until now whether or not the UFC would be able to move someone into Silva’s spot so that rising UFC contender Urijah Hall could remain on the card.

Unfortunately, we now have our answer.

It was confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that due to Silva being pulled from the card, Urijah Hall has been pulled from the event as well.

According to the UFC, the fight between Bryan Barberena and Warlley Alves has been moved from the preliminary card on FS1 to the PPV portion of the event. Replacing that fight on the prelims is a fight originally scheduled for the UFC Fight Pass prelims between Francisco Trinaldo and Yancy Medeiros.

UFC 198 is scheduled for this Saturday, May 14, 2016 in Curitiba, Brazil. Make sure to visit MMANews.com this Saturday for the best UFC 198 live results coverage on the web!
