Video: ‘UFC on FOX’ Weigh-Ins & Results

(Video: YouTube/UFC)

Last night’s weigh-ins went off without a hitch. Every man made weight on the first go, and other than a few fighters finding out for certain if their opponents do indeed have stank breff, there were no real notable exchanges between tonight’s combatants.

A quick question before we get to the scales: when did the CSAC become the weigh-in Nazis? Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad they made Clay Harvison take off that stupid Mickey Mouse hat, but when Nevada allows Roy Nelson to weigh-in looking like the Michelin Man it seems strange that California freaks out about a bracelet or a ring. And all of that “Stand here! Face forward!” drill sergeant nonsense stopped the second “Cigano” hit the stage; it’s clear that big boy in the blazer prefers bossing around people half his size.

Now, onto the results.

Live on FOX (9 p.m. ET)

Cain Velasquez (249) vs. Junior dos Santos (239)

Live on Facebook and FoxSports.com (4:45 p.m. ET)

Clay Guida (156) vs. Ben Henderson (156)
Pablo Garza (145) vs. Dustin Poirier (146)
Cub Swanson (145) vs. Ricardo Lamas (145)
DaMarques Johnson (171) vs. Clay Harvison (169)
Norifumi Yamamoto (135) vs. Darren Uyenoyama (135)
Mackens Semerzier (146) vs. Robert Peralta (145)
Alex Caceras (136) vs. Cole Escovedo (134)
Mike Pierce (171) vs. Paul Bradley (171)
Aaron Rosa (204) vs. Matt Lucas (203)

A lot of folks on Twitter expressed concern about Cain’s weight–he came in at 5-9 lbs heavier than he has in his previous UFC bouts. Is that, coupled with vague references to a Velasquez injury, enough to make you plunk down some coin on Dos Santos?

Reminder: Watch the UFC 141 Press Conference and the UFC on Fox Weigh-Ins Right Here Starting at 5:00 pm ET today

Jus a friendly reminder that there are a couple things left to help waste the remaining hours of your Friday.

First off, the UFC will be holding a press conference to announce UFC 141 featuring a main event number one heavyweight contender match-up between former Strikeforce champ Alistair Overeem and former UFC champ Brock Lesnar.

We’ll finally get a first hand look at Lesnar’s physique so we can see just how big of a toll his latest bout of diverticulitis took on his body. We’ll also likely get some vague quotes from “The Demolition Man” about his current lawsuit against his former management team and why he chose Xtreme Couture for this camp.

Also on tap are the weigh-ins for tomorrow night’s UFC on Fox extravaganza. It should be interesting to see if the event has a FOX spin on it and if we’ll see any FOX personalities like Gus Johnson sashaying around in the background will full make-up.

Check out the stream after the jump.

UFC 137 Weigh-In Results: Roy Nelson in Disguise, a Fat Tyson Griffin, and Nick Diaz as Himself

(Highlight video courtesy of MMAFighting.com)

It’s been a while since we brought you kids a good weigh-in video, and we’re truly sorry for that. It’s not that we don’t care, it’s just getting pretty rare that someone wears an elaborate costume to the scale, misses weight by an incredible margin, or a high-profile staredown gets personal. And if those are the criteria for a great weigh-ins, last night we hit the mother lode!

Roy Nelson’s been toying with us all about his new, streamlined look, and last night he dangled that carrot in front of us just a bit longer. “Big Country” stepped onto the stage concealing his new figure like the boys at Mercedes test driving a prototype in public. Even with the excess padding (and to be fair, we are just assuming that wasn’t his real physique), Nelson weighed only 252 lbs.

Despite dispensing nutritional advice earlier in the week, Tyson Griffin showed up three pounds over the allowance yesterday afternoon. Unable to cut the extra weight, he’ll forfeit 25% of his purse and his bout with Bart Palaszewski will go down at a catch weight of 148 lbs. Check out Rogan’s reaction when he’s on the scale, and we’ll let the looks of disappointment and anger from everyone else tell the rest of the tale.

Nick Diaz has spoken at length about BJ Penn being a friend, going so far as to say that tonight’s bout isn’t “a normal fight for me, it’s more of a sporting competition this time around. I hope nobody’s too disappointed if it doesn’t go the same as it always does.” Well, you can take the fighter out of Stockton (barely), but you can’t take the Stockton out of the fighter. As soon as the two main-eventers came head to head, this fight became as personal as any for the former Strikeforce champion. Hold up– is that Diaz taking a swing at Penn as the two are separated?!? Sometimes these things happen at weigh-ins.

Reminder: Watch the UFC 137 Weigh-In Stream Live Right Here at 7:00 pm ET

(Video courtesy of YouTube/LayzietheSavage)

Just a friendly reminder that the weigh-ins for UFC 137 will be live from the Mandalay Casino and Events Center at 7:00 pm ET tonight and you can watch the stream live right here.

Until then, enjoy some BJ Penn and Nick Diaz highlight reels to get you pumped for tomorrow night. Is anyone actually not excited for this fight?

Tonight we will get to see which BJ Penn showed up in training camp — the one with abs or the one who doesn’t give a shit. We’ll also get to see how effective Roy Nelson’s diet of toilet paper and castor oil was this camp.

It will be a telling if Nick looks Penn in the eyes during the staredown. Hearing him talk all week about how BJ is one of his idols and that he really looks up to him reminded me of when GSP said the same thing about Matt Hughes right before losing by an armbar to “Country Breakfast.” He said similar things about fighting Karo before they squared off, about how he didn’t want the fight. Look what happened in that one.

Check out the stream at 7 after the jump.

Reminder: Watch the UFC 136 Weigh-Ins Right Here at 5:00 pm ET

(Video courtesy of YouTube/UFC)

Just a friendly reminder that we will have the live stream of today’s UFC 136 weigh-ins from Houston, Texas starting at 5:00 pm ET.

There’s a pretty good chance that at least one fighter is getting shoved during the festivities. Unfortunately we likely won’t hear from Stann or Sonnen since Joe Rogan typically only interviews the main event participants, so we’l have to settle for listening to Maynard say that Frankie has his belt and to Edgar say he’s sick of fighting Gray.

Time for a few friendly wagers in the comment section.

Will Sonnen’s bacne be as prevalent as it was at the UFC 117 weigh-ins?

Will Guillard get in Lauzon’s face?

Will Dana be wearing a Houston Expos shirt?

Will Joe Silva be wearing a leather jacket?

Will Arianny go lighter on the make-up than she did at the 135 weigh-ins?

Will Keith Florian annoy you at all during the broadcast?

Reminder: Watch the UFC 135 Weigh-Ins Right Here Tonight at 6:00 pm ET

(Rampage cutting the the last few ounces with Cheick Kongo.)

Just a friendly reminder that we will be showing the weigh-ins at 6:00 pm ET tonight for tomorrow night’s UFC 135 event at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

Will Rampage give us more GIF fodder?

Will Jon Jones continue to lose fans for being cocky?

Will Josh Koscheck be the first opponent of Matt Hughes’ that the fans root against?

Will “Big” Ben Rothwell’s nickname be changed to “Medium” Ben Rothwell?

Will Nick Diaz show up to support his brother?

These questions and more will be answered after the jump.
