It’s once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Saturday, October 7th, 2016) will come from WSOF 33. Headlining the card are David Branch and Vinny Magalhaes, but there’s a whole bunch of great fights also taking place on the rest of the card.

David Branch (16-3) and Vinny Magalhaes (14-7) met in a heavyweight title bout as of the main event.

Jason High (19-5) and Joao Zeferino (20-8) met in a lightweight bout.

Brian Foster (25-9) and Luiz Firmino (19-6) met in a lightweight  bout.

John Howard (24-12) and Abubakar Nurmagomedov (12-1-1) met in a welterweight bout.

Shawn Jordan (18-7) and Ashley Gooch (10-4) met in a heavyweight bout.

Opening the main card on NBCSN was Chris Gutierrez vs. Timur Valiev. In the first round, Valiev caught a kick and took him down. Valiev was in half guard and worked Gutierrez over with strikes. Not ton of action as the fans booed. In the second round, Gutierrez went for a low kick to begin the round but Vasiliev caught it and took him down. Valiev pressed him up against the fence while he landed strikes. Gutierrez stood up halfway through the round but Valiev slammed him down and got into guard. Gutierrez made his way to his feet late in the round but Valiev clinched with him up against the fence. In the third round, Valiev took him down after some good exchanges. Gutierrez scrambled to his feet and Valiev clinched with him. They trade to finish the fight. The judges gave Valiev the unanimous decision.

While UFC 204 has been generating most of the headlines this week, a solid World Series of Fighting card goes down Friday night on NBC Sports Network.

Weigh-ins for WSOF 33 took place earlier today, as both champions and challengers successfully tipped the scales.

In the main event, Justin Gaethje defends his lightweight title against Ozzy Dugulubgov, while David Branch puts his light heavyweight belt on the line vs. Vinny Magalhaes.

Gaethje weighed in at 154.6 pounds, while Dugulubgov was 154.9. Branch, also the WSOF middleweight champion, weighed in at 204.8 and Magalhaes was 204.2.

There will be plenty of action on October 7 from the Kansas City Municipal Auditorium, as the World Series of Fighting 33 main card boasts six bouts and two title fights.

In the main event, lightweight champion Justin Gaethje defends his title against Ozzy Dugulubgov on NBC Sports Network, The co-main will see David Branch put his light heavyweight title – he also holds the middleweight belt – up for grabs vs. former Ultimate Fighter runner-up Vinny Magalhaes.

Officials recently announced plans for the event, including the promotional debut of Shawn Jordan and Jason High vs. Joao Zeferino.

“This is, without a doubt, the most stacked fight card from top to bottom that we have put together, thanks in large part to NBCSN, which has given us a three-hour window for the first time since we launched on the network four years ago, to showcase our best fighters in action,” said World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo in a press release.

Also on the main card will be Brian Foster vs. Luiz Firmino and John Howard vs. Abubakar Nurmagomedov, the brother of UFC lightweight title contender Khabib Nurmagomedov.
