Light heavyweight greats Rashad Evans and Dan Henderson will attempt to return to title contention on Saturday, when they will meet at UFC 161 in Winnipeg, Canada.
After coming up short in a title shot against former teammate and current champion Jon Jones, Evans suffered a big setback in an upset loss to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Coming off of what could be considered the worst performance of his career, Evans may have had a wake-up call. Then again, he could also continue his downward trend against Henderson.
Scheduled to fight Jones at UFC 151, Henderson suffered a knee injury that cost him the title shot. Upon his return, Henderson met Lyoto Machida and failed to earn back his chance at UFC gold by dropping a decision.
In addition to the 205-pound main event, UFC 161 will feature a number of competitive bouts that will hopefully make up for the loss of the fight card’s original main event between interim bantamweight champion Renan Barao and Eddie Wineland.
