When someone has been arrested for domestic violence twice in a roughly two-week period, clearly there are few, if any, positives to take away from the situation.
In the case of former Dream, Strikeforce and UFC fighter Jason Miller, it appears that, once again, his legal problems have went from bad to worse rather quickly.
As mentioned by Bloody Elbow, SciFighting attended “Mayhem’s” arraignment in Orange County, California and the allegations being presented against the 38-fight veteran in the courtroom are both very serious and shocking.
“Mayhem Millers alleged victim, known to the court as Ana Pricilla (but known to Mayhem as Anna Stable), says that during the second assault case she was urinated on and choked until she fell on the floor, where she was punched and kicked viciously. In defense, Mayhem’s attorney stated that the victim was asked to leave the house, and Jason’s father witnessed her attacking Jason. At this point in the hearing, Judge Manssourian scolded Mayhem because he was making faces and nodding his head in every direction. The fighter apologized, explaining he is “an expressive person” and that he’s “an artist”. The judge dismissed his statements, and advised him he is best served to be silent and allow his attorney to speak on his behalf. The hearing continued and the People then suggested that the judge take into account the bruises and lacerations that the victim allegedly had. Mayhem’s defense replied that “the victim trains (in) MMA” as well, and would probably have those anyway. She did not go to the hospital or report these injuries the night of the conflict, instead opting to sleep at Jason’s house and report the event weeks later. It is also pointed out that not only does Jason have a restraining order against this woman, so do a few of her past boyfriends.”
Other incriminating evidence presented included various Snapchats and Tweets from an account simply titled “Maybe,” sending messages to the victim such as “Satan Satan Satan.”
Additional details include Miller’s bail being doubled from $50,000 to $100,000, and he was banned from owning a firearm by the court.
Also worth noting is the pretrial court date is set for August 30, with the preliminary hearing being scheduled for September 9.
After a 3-1-1 outside the Octagon, including a failed Strikeforce title bid against Jake Shields in November 2009, the world’s premiere MMA organization gave Miller one more chance.
However, the eccentric middleweight failed to get much offense going in lopsided losses to Michael Bisping and CB Dollaway.
Miller was subsequently cut from the UFC and a couple months later began calling out UFC President Dana White on Twitter (via MMA Fighting).
Then, about a year ago, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt was arrested when police found him naked in an Orange County, California church (via TMZ.com).
The incident led most MMA pundits to believe that the North Carolina native had hit rock bottom, but obviously the times have only gotten more difficult for Mayhem since then.
Furthermore, Miller has now changed his Twitter name to “GOD IS LOVE” and his description simply reads “Forgiven.”
