Three-time UFC title challenger Chael Sonnen is never shy to show off his silver tongue, but a new photo posted by rival Wanderlei Silva really set the Oregonian off.
“The Axe Murderer” posted a photo online wearing a T-shirt that reads “Anderson Knows Chael Talks Wand Does.” First, Sonnen tweeted his thoughts alongside the photo to let Wanderlei know he isn’t impressed.
Nice shirt @wandfc. Someday you’ll move up to shirts with buttons. pic.twitter.com/zWMmFdFHSh

From there, “The American Gangster” rattled off a plethora of quick poems bashing his Brazilian counterpart.
Here a few of the highlights, though all of the Sonnen‘s lyrical genius (or lack thereof) can be seen on his Twitter page.

Sonnen and Silva were at one point linked to fight at UFC Fight Night 26 in August, but “Uncle Chael” fought former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua instead.
Rua had little to offer the American wrestler, tapping out to a guillotine choke late in the first round.
The two archenemies traded several verbal jabs since then, with things coming to a head when Silva confronted Sonnen at the Mr. Olympia event in Las Vegas, Nev., two weeks ago, per MMA Junkie.
Sonnen took the incident as little more than a bad joke, addressing the situation on UFC Tonight, stating that “accosting a gangster can be hazardous.”
The Team Reign Training Center fighter looks to climb the light heavyweight rankings when he squares off with another former divisional champ in friend/fellow UFC analyst Rashad Evans at UFC 167 next month.
Meanwhile, Silva hasn’t fought since he knocked out Brian Stann at UFC on FUEL 8 in March.
The former Pride star has been victorious in three of his past five bouts, though he is 4-7 in his past 11 matchups and hasn’t beaten a top-ranked opponent since defeating Michael Bisping at UFC 110 in February 2010.
As of late Sunday morning, Silva has not responded to any of Sonnen‘s latest taunts.
