Alexander Gustafsson and Jimi Manuwa will meet at UFC Fight Night 27 on Saturday in a bout that could produce the next light heavyweight title challenger.
While he hasn’t fought since losing to Jon Jones at UFC 165, Gustafsson remains one of the biggest threats to the champion. Many were calling for the Swedish fighter to get an immediate rematch with Jones, who narrowly defeated Gustafsson in a decision.
Manuwa is a significant underdog heading into the weekend. However, the Englishman has the power needed to shake up the 205-pound division in a big way. If he can stop Gustafsson, Manuwa could leapfrog all other light heavyweight contenders and get a shot at the winner of an upcoming title fight between Jones and Glover Teixeira.
