Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather Jr. continues to snatch at UFC superstars this month, but this time he’s not sharing a headline with Conor McGregor.
According to Mayweather, the retired boxing legend and promotor is set to go to Albuquerque to talk business with interim UFC light-heavyweight champion Jone Jones:
“I’m about to go to Albuquerque, New Mexico to meet with Jon Bones Jones, the best MMA fighter in the world. I’m working on the daily. Trying to help fighters grow, not just in the ring, but outside.”
‘Money’ has also expressed interest in the past of possibly managing the former UFC light-heavyweight king:
“Jon Jones is with the MMA but we still gotta communicate and put some things together, me and him,” he said. “We’d love Jon Jones to be a part of TMT.
We steady growing. And it’s not just about us making money it’s about the talent winning. That’s what we believe and that’s why so many promoters hate us and dislike us, because we believe in the talent winning when it’s all said and done.”
Mayweather and Jones shared a FaceTime conversation together that Jones tweeted a snapshot of last week, showing the two have been keeping in touch as of late:
“(We were) talking business,” Floyd said. “Me and Jon talked about the future of his career.”
Jones has expressed interest in the past of joining ‘The Money Team’ (TMT), as well as allowing Mayweather to manage his fighting career. No word yet on how the meeting went, but stick with LowKick for the latest on Jones’ potential partnership with TMT.
