Since entering the UFC in June of 2006, Anderson Silva has dominated every opponent that’s come his way.

In fact, Silva hasn’t lost as he’s posted a perfect 14-0 on route to being declared the undisputed UFC middleweight champion.

And, since Silva’s been crowned the champion, he’s defended his middleweight title nine consecutive times defeating opponents such as Dan Henderson, Chael Sonnen and Vitor Belfort.

But, Silva’s not the only man to dominate his weight class.

Enter Jon Jones.

Jones, a younger version of Silva, is only 24 years old and has lost just one fight in his UFC career via disqualification to Matt Hamill at The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights Finale.

Following his loss, “Bones” Jones went on to win three consecutive fights, ultimately earning himself a light heavyweight title shot against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 128.

Jones became the youngest champion in UFC history as he knocked out Rua at the midpoint of Round 3.

After both fighters’ dominance over the past several years, UFC fans across the globe began to ask one question.

Will Anderson Silva vs. Jon Jones happen?

The original answer was “no” as it appeared Silva was moving closer towards a “super-fight” with Georges St-Pierre as conditions were set in order for the fight to happen.

But, as of late, St-Pierre has entertained the option of dropping to the lightweight division in the upcoming future.

While it’s yet to be determined if St-Pierre will actually make the transition, if he were to, the likelihood of Silva vs. Jones would greatly increase.

If Jones and Silva can continue to dominate their respected divisions, they’ll have no choice but to square off in one of the biggest matches in UFC history.

Is Anderson Silva vs. Jon Jones becoming a real possibility?
