In just a few short days, the Ultimate Fighting Championship will make its broadcasting television debut on the FOX Network.

UFC on Fox 1 will take place on November 12th, 2011 in Anaheim, California in front of a sold-out Honda Center.

With the live event quickly approaching, UFC fans across the globe patiently await for what has the potential to be one of the biggest nights in UFC history.

The main event of the evening will be featured around current heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, who will meet his toughest test to date, Junior Dos Santos.

In an interview, Dos Santos weighed in with what it meant to be a part of such an historical event when he stated,

“I know it’s going to be huge for our sport, for all of MMA, and for the UFC. I’m just happy to be here and I want to do my best to win this fight.”

One of the things Dos Santos has been criticized in previous fights is his inexperience to grapple with his opponents.

Unfortunately for Dos Santos, Velasquez is one of the better wrestlers in the heavyweight division as he addressed the issue by stating,“I think he’s going to try and take me down and make his ground-and-pound. He’s very good at ground-and-pound and I think he will try to do that. But I’m going to try very hard to keep this fight standing, because I want to knock him out and I will try my best to knock him out on Saturday.”

And, while Dos Santos may be the underdog heading into his matchup on November 12th, he’s not the slightest bit fazed.

In fact, Dos Santos has gone as far to guarantee a victory over Velasquez.

“I will win the title. I’m really confident I will be the heavyweight champion on Saturday.”

Dos Santos will have the opportunity not only to be declared the new UFC heavyweight champion on November 12th, but to be the first man to ever defeat Velasquez.

UFC on FOX can be seen on the FOX Network beginning at 6:00 p.m. PT and 9:00 p.m. ET.
