Following the finale of The Ultimate Fighter season 14, the UFC handed out $40,000 bonuses for its “of the Night” performances.
The night’s big winner was Brazilian featherweight Diego Brandao. The Greg Jackson-trained, Team Bisping fighter took home the Submission of the Night award for his armbar finish of Team Miller’s Dennis Bermudez. The back-and-forth battle earned the two fighters Fight of the Night honors. The double bonus earned Brandao a total of $80,000 in addition to his salary for the bout. With the win, Brandao earned a six-figure contract with the promotion.
Knockout of the Night went to bantamweight John Dodson for his first-round finish of T.J. Dillishaw. The Team Miller (and Greg Jackson) product needed less than two minutes to finish the fight and take home the 135-pound crown. Like his Jackson teammate Brandao, the win netted Dodson the coveted six-figure contract. However, his additional bonus was only half of his teammates.
The night’s main event between coaches Michael Bisping and Jason “Mayhem” Miller did not impress, even drawing a tweet from UFC President Dana White proclaiming it one of the most one-sided fights he had ever seen.
